I have put the kitchen back to its normal arrangement and restored the small appliances that I have to relocate for Christmas. There isn’t sufficient space otherwise for entertaining as we don’t have a dining room. I have washed and ironed the Christmas table linen and finally put all the dishes away. It is still extremely cold here and we really need it to thaw. I felt very unsafe on the pavements yesterday as even our small local town doesn’t seem to put any grit down anymore.@Blue_Doggy - do join us when you can. I get very easily overwhelmed myself and suffer frequent fatigue but find that all the small efforts really do add up. It has helped me to determinedly maintain the clear spaces that I create. It is much easier than clearing them in the first place and gradually they join up with the other clear areas. As you say, it means things don’t get worse. As in my first post (and with thanks to daisy for the phrase) I am guerilla decluttering when opportunity and inspiration strikes!18

Oh, poor @Florenceem😟. Sending my love and hugs to you. @daisy_1571 please pass on my thoughts xx
DH has gone shopping with DD so hopefully they don't buy too much. We've still got rammed cupboards, fridge and freezer.
I have some apples that need using before they walk out of the house, so may make some apple pie, or a lovely crumble, can't decide 🤔
In the bin went:-
10 - 4 x random lids saved for "that'll be useful". Spoiler - they weren't
11 - A bra that is fit for nothing!
12 - 5 pairs of dead holey knickers
Very slowly getting things out.
Hugs and love to all who need a bit today. Keep warm everyone xxMortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £79,000 April 2037Swagbucks ~ £0 (2025 ~ £240)Surveys~ £6.10 (2025 ~ £238.94)Make £2025 in 2025 #18 ~ £0 ~ (2025 ~ £2,368.64)2026 Decluttering Campaign ~ 13/202617 -
Hello everyone, newbie here. Loving the challenge of the challenge. I’m trying to save up for an Interrail holiday for me and the other half, so I’m decluttering and making a few bob on the side. I’ll set a target of 2026 items happily. Our cluttered house has been enhanced by my dear late FiL’s clutter, so it’s getting desperate.Three things on Vinted this morning
Decorations down, put away and some recycled
8 books on eBay
Food cupboards tomorrow…..
target for holiday £5k- £100 so far

Wow! Some people are doing so well!!
Does it count if I'm celebrating just clearing all the surplus sweets and crisps from the Christmas stash? My daughter is taking to school 2 Lindor chocolates and 5 individual monster munch out of the massive sharing bags for her packed lunch every day this week instead of me buying KitKats and multi-packs! #isthisokay??

Tuesday continued: 13:30 & the snow is gone 😢 Still cheerleading posts dated the 2nd:
Very impressive decluttering charlies_tribe 👏 & so pleased that your DH is on board 😊 Sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell 😞 but am hoping that your nap has helped to start your recovery 🤞
Welcome aboard the EDT dekaspace1 👋 Lovely to meet you 😊 It is the age old conundrum of decluttering - balancing your desire to declutter & create space with an equally strong desire to earn some £££ as your items have value🤔 I see that Floss has already suggested CEX. As listing items individually is a long process, might you consider listing job lots of items? Whatever you decide, I look forward to following your progress 😊 & I wish you luck 🍀 as well as success ☺️
Welcome aboard the EDT, GTR_King 👋 Lovely to meet you 😊 Your aims are eminently achievable & I am looking forward to following your progress 😊 Wishing you a successful 2026 decluttering campaign 🙂
Of course you can join in lindoz, the more the merrier ☺️ Well done on making a start last year 👏 you are obviously more than ready to make 2026 the year you declutter in earnest 😊 I really like This “a small room of stuff (I refer to it as the room of Non-requirement)...” 😅👏 what a great description 🥳 Hopefully you can get your 12 year old involved 🤞as I think it will be easier to declutter if they are participating 😊 Good luck especially decluttering/dealing with the emails 🍀 I am looking forward to following your progress 😊
Lovely post oceanspirit ☺️ Good luck using up food stuffs from stores/freezer🍀 hopefully will not only save you some monies but also some energy 🤞Well done on resisting the temptation to keep the cardboard box for Justin 👏 he can be very demanding 😉
Brie, that is very ‘odd’ as well as being ‘dumb’ 🤨 Although I suppose it might be a good idea for a child’s table to stop crumbs going on the floor 🤔 Poor dust bunnies, minding their own business……….. 🙊
Welcome back DundeeDoll, lovely to see you 😊 What a great start to your 2026 decluttering campaign 👏 especially finding your long lost ceilidh shoes - what a bonus 🥳
Another page caught up 🙂 & another hot drink required. I won’t be back for a while as I am going to treat myself to watching Countdown as a new series has started 😉 Stay safe & warm 😊

@Florenceem Sending my deepest condolences and my love. ❤️
I can't remember OP but re. tablecloth stains, I've just removed washed in wine/gravy/?? stains from a cotton tablecloth using green bleach/sodium percarbonate. I put the piece with the stain over a plate and put about 1/2 a teaspoon of the green bleach powder on top of the stain. I then added hot water from around the edge until the green bleach was wet - it needs to be hot water to activate the green bleach. I left it for about 15 mins to work, gently rubbing the bleach powder into the stain a few times as I went by.
Despite the stains being unsuccessfully washed a few times, this treatment worked. (I found this on Nancy B's social media). The Oxy clean products are the commercial brands of the sodium percarbonate. Good luck. more condolences to pass along to Florenceem. Her posts have always been so joyful even when she was dealing with the difficulties of health care for the elderly. I expect that she will be filling her days with good works and carrying on with her recycling to charities and baking wonderful cakes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Best laid plans went wrong as I ended up with 50 mile round trip to get DGCs. They didn't go to school due to car problems - the school is near where DS2 and I live. Weather had improved a bit but frogs not done as planned. They wanted food so I ended up stopping over at McDs although I ony had hot chocolate. They are a bit giddy so guess they have been indoors because of the weather. DGD4 suggested we go swimming but I said it was too cold for me today - perhaps at the weekend.
Sad news from Florenceem but I know she will feel he has gone to a better place. The reality of their absence is still hard to process.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 72/1526 Major job list 0/500 Total 72/2026
