I had two multi clip hanger doings that hold the little bits on the washing line that are missing clips. While dinner was cooking I cobbled them together so I now have one complete one and one in the recycling. I have kept the spare clips as I know, from history, I shall need replacements.
Darks out on the line and all dry, in and folded.
Made granola while dinner was cooking and then forgot it was in the oven. It’s okay but I had to remove all the raisins as they were ever so slightly charred. Used up the last of the Christmas three bird roast for dinner today with glorious fresh veggies. DH was totally from freezer.
Supposed to be a scorcher Wednesday and Thursday, 😥Thursday morning got another man coming re the kitchen.
@Brie, we could smell the smoke on the island, must have been worrying for you being so close. Glad it’s out now but fire service say they will remain on site for a wee while.

I cleaned the two shirts discarded by my son. I popped them in the wash and one of the other boys ironed them so they look super smart to go to our local charity shop.

Tuesday is another warm sunny day with a high of 25°C, low of 16°C with a very light E wind. Forgot to mention that DH went out shopping yesterday ostensibly to buy a couple of watering cans & some more Sol*ros - came back with other bits & pieces but sadly no watering cans 😞 DH & DSis have gone to B&* for the watering cans & to pick up something for dinner tonight……..DH called - no watering cans so has had to resort to ordering online. We are having pizza & garlic bread tonight, so minimal washing up 😄

Liverpool_Anne, a busy couple of days especially in the garden 👏 A pity about the tree stump 😞 We used the tree stump chemical, covered the stump with a black bin liner & a ceramic pot then once it was dead (it did take a while!) DH hacked out the dead wood. After another year or so we planted a dwarf cherry blossom tree which has been doing well🤞 Good luck with getting rid of the last of the rampant rose 🍀 Great decluttering & well done on getting so much laundry done 👏 You are a good friend 🥹
Lovely to see you vulpix 👋 You have been very busy in the garden & it sounds like it is coming along very nicely 👏☺️ A medal 🏅 is on its way. I did look up Chatsworth fountain - it sounds like you might have to start charging for garden visits 😉 What a cheeky mouse shades of the mouse in The Shawshank Redemption 🙊 Poor Fluffy, sounds like she is missing Fomo as much as you 🥺
Willowtree222 🥳 a medal 🏅 is on its way.
GrannyKate, hopefully the DGC didn’t eat you out of house & home 😉 …….. read the next paragraph & see that they did 🙊 Poor Mr Sox - sleeping in the porch is nowhere near as comfort as DGS4’s bed 😂 Scottish family history investigations sound rather tricky although I imagine a great source of satisfaction once you connect the dots 🥹
TC77, lovely post ☺️ Great decluttering & good news that DD2 is also decluttering 👏 Good luck in your search for a part time job 🍀 Hopefully you can get the “major issue with bank” sorted out quickly 🙏
Miss_BaLu, nice to know that you will be posting more regularly 😊
Brie, I am with you on junk mail being annoying & there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it 😖
suzeesu2000, sorry to hear that you had a sleepless night 😞 Hopefully you managed to get a few naps in during the day & can get an early night 🤞 Excellent decluttering & tidying 👏 I will be keeping everything crossed that the New Forest fire is put out quickly & that humans & animals stay safe 🙏
SpikyHedgehog, thanks for the reminder as I have some peppers that need freezing 😊
dND, hopefully Jewel’s blood test results will show no new issues 🙏 Will keep everything crossed that the vets fees aren’t exorbitantly expensive 🤞 Excellent work in the garden 👏 Hopefully the next heatwave will be short lived & will be followed by a useful amount of rain 🤞
GrannyKate, well done with the weeding & clearing out the fridge 👏
daisy_1571, interesting point 🧐
Green_hopeful, very generous of you 🥹 a medal 🏅 is on its way.
Great decluttering Willowtree222 👏 Good work earmarking more items for the school 👏
Miss_BaLu, pleased to hear that you have managed to get a better deal with BT ☺️ but sorry to hear that you feel like you wasted the morning ☹️ My go to when anyone comes to the door is to act like a ditzy female & call my DH 😉
Great decluttering vulpix 👏 Sorry to hear that MrV’s leg is still not better 😔 I am assuming he is on a second course of antibiotics. Relieved to hear that the local fire was brought under control so quickly with everyone pitching in 😮💨
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 a medal 🏅 is on its way 😊 Keep up the good work in the conservatory as it sounds like you have made a breakthrough - “I will not use that so get rid” seems a great way to declutter 👏 I will try to remember that when I start going through the kitchen cupboards & drawers 🤞
Floss, that will work 😉
Lovely post Miss_BaLu ☺️
Well done on the sale Green_hopeful 👏 The garage of ‘half doom’ sounds good 😉
Brie, how appalling that people are behaving like idiots 😖
Willowtree222, great work in the garage 👏
Great work cleaning the kitchen between meetings Miss_BaLu 👏
suzeesu2000, with all the food you are using from the freezer you must be creating lots of space 😊 We have a couple of hot days forecast - Wednesday 31°C, Thursday 35°C & Friday 31°C
Green_hopeful, pleased to hear that the discarded shirts have come up so well 😊
All caught up 😊 Sleep tight 😴

Nothing much to report here although I am filling the garden waste bin so I must be doing something practical. I am just having to deal with a lot of financial things, admin, phone calls and emails. These are all frogs for me and I find them stressful. I am feeling very much under pressure from several directions. At least I have seen the last of the plumbers for now so peace reigns again. There is a lot of dust to declutter as there wasn’t any point in dusting while they were here. That’s definitely hanging over me and will have to be done a room at a time as I can’t blitz around the house like I used to. If anyone has any super quick dusting tips, other than my standard starting at the top and working down, I am all ears!
Miss_BaLu - it’s lovely to see you back here and congratulations on your change of name.
vulpix - I am sorry that Mr V’s leg is making only slow progress, hopefully the enforced rest will benefit him rather than frustrate him too much.
Liverpool_Anne - I am engaged in trying to root out stuff from my garden too. It’s a tough job. Sounds like you are getting on really well with your decluttering.dND - your cats are beautiful 😻
Congratulations everyone on so much fantastic decluttering! It is very inspiring to read of all the progress being made. Take care over these next couple of hot days and enjoy experiencing the eclipse later 🌒

Thank you for my medal Mrs SD.
Monday was a quiet day followed by a quick flurry in the evening to remove all confidential papers from the living room. The hallway was cleared of the last few things yesterday morning - having had a slalom course for many years, it feels like a motorway now. The little bedroom has gained some clutter but I need to be very firm with myself and only take out what I am working on so at least the living room and hallway feel nice to be in.More papers decluttered yesterday.

Thank you for my medal Mrs SD, I do feel it has been awarded under false pretences though. Like Moorviews I can't whizz about any more and I am always thinking that I don't achieve much. I can have an open garden to anyone who would like to visit, the kettle is always on. I don't charge Chatsworth prices either!😂 When the weather breaks and we have had some rain I will plant more stuff in the front garden and I will post a pic. It still looks quite sparse atm.
I galvanised myself last night into under coating the tall boy and the majority of the bunk bed parts. Sooooo many parts to a bunk bed.I ran out of paint but will rectify that today. My lovely step son is coming at the weekend to assemble the bunk beds so I need to get a wriggle on. I will gloss with left over paint from recent decorating.Waste not want not.I had spent all the evening before and most of yesterday making a rolled paper bowl ( a full magazine). Iv'e done it, enjoyed making it and will probably put it in the re cycling in a week! I am also making progress on a knitted blanket and a crochet blanket using up my wool stash.
Mr V's antibiotics finish today. His leg though massively improved is still angry red.
I am also on a mission to fill my green bin to the top. The next empty will be the last free collection. I have decided to opt out of paying for collection. I will make the current green bin into a compost bin. Once the back garden is all cut back and taken to the tip in a ton builders bag there shouldn't be much garden waste.
I listed 5 garden pots for sale last night. They must be too cheap as I have been inundated with requests for them even when I edited the listing to say SOLD. Being collected later. Just in time to pay for a garden plinth we are picking up. I want to use it as a coffee table in front of a garden bench, as yet unpurchased.
Binned a used up glue stick, a dead paintbrush that I was using when Mr V had his first fall and I never dealt with it. Pleasingly using up toiletries too. I have earmarked some clothes that I panic bought a few weeks ago which just don't suit me. Returned a bag of clothes DIL borrowed from DD1 to wear on a hen do. I have a bag of maternity clothes from DIL for the local baby bank when it opens after it's Summer break. I will sort out some baby toys from the toy box to go with them. Dropping some plants off at DD1's this afternoon. BY hook or by crook I will have this house and garden tidy!

Still plugging away at the garden between work. I have uncovered another path which I have no memory of whatsoever! Right now I feel like I am practising archeology rather than doing gardening. Kind neighbour who has been away let me use their green bin so two bins full of green waste have been taken away today.
Sun woke me up early so I have done housework and a load of washing which is now outside drying.
I have clients 10-12 and 2-4. I think given the heat it would be sensible to put off the gardening until late afternoon so will use the break in between clients to continue with admin (I did manage to resist the lure of the garden and break the back of it on Monday morning) or have a nap. Nap seems most likely given how i feel right now and it's not even 10am 🤦♀️
@Mrs SD - you called it about the heater 👏 - I would never have guessed it would have been taken in this weather.
Love to all 💕

@vulpix whizzing about is overrated in my experience. Personally I long to get less done (although I also need less to do for that to work!). I bet you do more than you think. That's why loads of advice online is all about taking photos of things so you can see the progress.
I have been trying to address at least some of my kitchen container storage squirrel habits today 😂, as well as my collection of recipe books I barely use. I've also been packing up things for charity so they aren't lying around the place. It's slow progress at the moment and I've gone back to trying to find just 1 thing a day to go so I don't get too overwhelmed.
