Jeez it is VERY hot! Took the dogs a walk around the farm and they're both fed and asleep now.
I'm logged back in to work for a couple of hours, not back in until Monday so need to check a few things off my list.
Dinner is in the oven so I'll pause for a bit when that comes out then find a podcast or something to listen to when I'm done.

I refuse to turn the oven on when it's this hot!!!
And to add to the swelter I've got this tune tumbling round my brain where he sings "it's getting hot in here, let's take off all our clothes!" and she answers "I am in to hot. I won't take my clothes off!" Can't remember the title but it was a hit 15 or so years back.

I popped into the shed to raid the freezer. The shed thermometer was reading 38C. I left very quickly with the fish fingers we’re having for tea with salad. 12 mins under the grill was all I could tolerate.
I need to sort out the Boots recycling and the rag bag recycling so that’s ready to go this weekend (probably Sunday).

it was Nelly back in 2002/3 I think @Brie
Hot hot hot! Had another man here today, woohoo, but he was checking we don’t have any asbestos. Daft really as these houses were built in 2001 so highly unlikely to have asbestos.
Had some phishing on my debit card with Mr Co-op. Said they would cancel card and issue shiny bright new one. Yes they did…but they also reissued the card that had been phished! Another phone call to deal with it.
Too hot to do anything today so I worked on family tree. Found Irish site which is free and got my great granny’s parish baptism records. So happy.
Dinner was freezer totally. Frozen chicken breast out for something tomorrow. Even though it’s hot, I’m fancying a tomato, mascarpone rigatoni. Or a curry!,
@Florenceem, Oh my love, my heart breaks for you. You’re not alone, we’re all with you. I’m feeling so sorry for your son, I can’t imagine what your grandsons parents must be going through. God bless, thinking of you and sending a big hug xxHave a good night all, sleep tight xx

Haven't been able to read on here for a few days - my computer died. Now have a laptop from school so can do my homework. But need to get a new desktop so it will feel better. Old computer had dual screen ability and the laptop doesn't. Trying to figure out how to use my laptop and my roommate's laptop at the same time to get the right effect. Trying to clear off the table where the computer was so can check with the old computer a former roommate was using to see if the programs are still on there. At least the laptops take up less room, even if I am using two of them.
Temperatures here are still in the 28C-30C range but supposed to go down later this week. Missed all of you while trying to get the computers up and running.

Florenceem, I am so heartsore for you and your family. I think the wait for a funeral keeps things together but afterwards the reality kicks in. I am so sorry for you all. xxx
Thank goodness the weather is due to break tonight .We even have some rain forecast next week.
I have spent the day indoors with the curtains shut. All I managed was to knit and crochet the blankets and slice up mushrooms for risotto. Tonight I finished undercoating the chest of drawers and the bunk bed parts. I must try to crack on in the morning and at least get the bed gloss coated. My step son is coming Saturday to assemble it.
My friend is coming tomorrow afternoon to help in clearing the undergrowth in the back garden. I see a trip to the tip for Mr V with a builders bag of shrubbery, a couple of bags if possible.
The plumber has been in touch to say he will know next week when he will be able to do our bathroom. It has been such a long time coming I have gone off the boil with it. I am sure I will be more enthusiastic when we have a date.
No decluttering other than using up paint. Just popped in to give Florenceem my love.

Thursday is a scorcher with a high of 35°C feeling 1° warmer due to a SSE wind with a low of 18°C DH & DSis are going shopping this evening when it is hopefully a bit cooler 🤞 Third week in a row that the recycling wheelie bin has been emptied on the correct day 😊 DH & DSis eventually went shopping at 19:00, sadly not much cooler at all 🙁 but they did enjoy the air conditioning in the car & in MrS 😉 All shopping put away immediately. Dinner was chicken pieces fried in a teeny bit of oil, boiled new potatoes, sweetcorn, peas & roasted tomatoes 😋 Wudupa
1370 - 1375 Kitchen recycling, 3 plastic bottles, glass bottle, glass jar - recycled
1376 Kitchen detritus binned
DSis & I started watching 28 Weeks Later with Robert Carlyle & DSis commented that she only ever pictures him in The Full Monty….. so we watched that instead 😅
Excellent & eclectic decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed watching the eclipse 🥹 Wise decision to walk rather than drive 😊 as it sounds like it would have taken hours to get home 😧 Good luck with the laundry 🍀
Great work sorting out the medicine cabinet Willowtree222 👏
Florenceem, sending many gentle cwtches to you & your family especially your son🤗
SpikyHedgehog, sounds like you & elder son had a busy day, packing for him to move out 👏 Love that your son likes wearing shirts - so much smarter & probably cooler in the hot weather ☺️ Good luck getting all the washing done 🍀 Being the ‘silly sausage’ (one of my DH’s nicknames for me) that I am, I was wondering if you will miss the dog more than your son 🙊😉
Yippee regnbue 🥳 Loved your description “it’s like waking from a five month eclipse 😀” ☺️
A lovely & kind cheerleading post Miss_BaLu 🥹 Pleased to hear that you had a lovely day with your nephew ☺️ Great work doing the laundry & clearing the kitchen worktops & the dining table 👏 Sounds like you are almost done 🥳
Willowtree222, well done on the prompt decluttering of medications 👏
Just noticed the time so will continue the cheerleading later today. Sleep tight 😴

Morning I keep reading and meaning to post but either fall asleep or get distracted.
@Florenceem my deepest condolences to you and the family at this very sad time.
I had 5 from a few days ago including a plastic lid, bathroom bin inner, digital and paper declutter, then more paper and digital. Losing the battle on the digital as one day 97 emails and another 47. Managed to delete ones that looked important in spam before I could read! Have unsubscribed from some things. I made a mistake disposing of DD2 things to charity as she now thinks there are tidy and sort fairies with her bin of recyling outside her room for about a week.
I think I will have to tell her that the tidy fairies have gone to look after some young children along with the cat caring fairy and pixie who fills the fridge and cupboard with food!
Yesterday and today i'm builder siting for dd1 as she and partner took wed off and 2 days next week but have limited leave. They are renting but painted everywhere and making it so nice as in awful condition.
This weekend will be washing and tidying and decluttering only incidentally.
Hugs to those in need or find them helpful. X

Not much to report as decluttering myself to DDs for a few days this morning. There are fires near the stables so she was there until late last night as fire brigade damping down fields and buildings. She says we might get there to discover a horse in the garden. They do own a field next door to house but not sure if fencing is completed yet.
My thoughts are with all going through hard times. Frogs to do when I get back but hoping for rain so I can finish off some bits of the garden before winter arrives.

@Florenceem - my heart goes out to you and your son’s family. They will all miss your calm and reassuring presence I am sure. I hope that along with the sadness of missing Mr F you can appreciate all the wonderful ways that you have been making your home a comfortable place to be.
@Foofoopuppy
Congratulations on moving into your new home. I hope you will be very happy there 😊
@dND - that must have been an amazing sight to see! I hope the soot doesn’t bleed through the paint but if it does there is an excellent primer beginning with Zins… It seems to cover everything, although isn’t cheap.@Liverpool_Anne
Watching the eclipse sounded like a lovely community event. I will help myself to a hug thank you 🙏@weenancyinAmerica - I hope your computer issues can be resolved soon. It’s very strange that we now have the same kind of temperatures that you mention. It has been like having summer in a different country. I was sorry to read of your sister’s health problems. I hope that she will be okay.
We watched the eclipse using a box as I didn’t get around to ordering glasses. It wasn’t quite as dramatic as 1999 but wonderful to have had the opportunity to view it where we live. I was too tired to stay up for watching out for meteor showers though. The box came from, and is now back in, the recycling. I’m sure I would have hung onto the glasses if I had had them! Not started on tackling the dust yet…. no doubt I shall distract myself with something else…
