I spent much of the day on and off strimming the front and back gardens- it looks a lot neater but has still got a way to go. I was popping in to check on DS who thankfully stopped vomiting at about midday and managed to successfully eat some plain pasta for dinner. I managed to squeeze in a lovely nap into my busy schedule this afternoon.

I was absolutely gob-smacked to find that the electric heater I left outside the house was taken within hours - I didn't expect it to go during a heat-wave. I did write a little note on it saying "please take - the heatwave won't last forever" - maybe that helped? 😂 ). I think this is my favourite declutter of the month so far!! 🤩

Tomorrow - I MUST NOT - wander into the garden in the morning - there is overdue work admin to be done - I even had a dream about it last night which is usually a sign that something is on my mind!

Morning all! Another busy weekend as per usual especially as after the boot sale yesterday my sister wanted to take my nephew swimming so that has properly wiped me out im really sleepy today! Breakfast is salmon and eggs again, its a really filling breakfast and I enjoy it! A guy at work said he has a lot of DVDs that someone has given him and he wants to give them to me as he knows I do boot sales, I honestly think he thinks I sell at boot sales but non the less I will take them and go through and check out if theres anything there for me to sell anyway! Im also going swimming again tonight 😴

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom

Sunday is another bright sunny day with a high of 31°C, low of 16°C & a SW wind making it feel 1° warmer. DSis did one load of laundry. DH has been watching the MotoGP races & I just watched a very odd film called “Normal” After that I decided to sort out 2 froglets in the kitchen - first I combined various dried herbs to make Italian Herb Mix which resulted in three empty jars to recycle (1338 - 1340) & then I topped up my vinegar shaker from the plastic bottle (1341) It has been way too hot today to do anything………. so we didn’t 😉 Although I did cook -  roast chicken with roast potatoes, roasted tomatoes & roasted asparagus spears with Parmesan, boiled carrots, Yorkshire puddings & gravy 😋 Wudupa

1342 - 1345 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, plastic bottle, uu air freshener can - recycled 

1346 Kitchen detritus binned 

oceanspirit, perhaps the big suitcase that ex OH returned can be used to store bedding & towels freeing up the space where they are currently stored 🤔 Excellent work packing up kitchen items 👏 & good luck with the ‘bits and pieces drawer’ 🍀

EnergyShifter, sorry to hear that your DS has a vomiting bug 😔 I am keeping everything crossed that you managed to to avoid catching it 🤞🙏 Our grass is so ‘dead’ that it has stopped growing so I rather like that you have “mini haystacks” 😊 I think the electric heater will be taken quickly 😉

QueenJess, it still a major achievement decluttering so many books 🤩 I am enjoying the discussion about childhood books 😊 I only read the Narnia books, Heidi & Black Beauty. For no known reason Enid Blyton passed me by. Then in my early teens I was a fan of westerns especially books written by JT Edson & his hero Dusty Fog - my dad liked them although I did read a few Louis L’Amour books but didn’t like his writing style much. Into my 20’s I was (still am) a huge fan of Stephen King & David Eddings. Nowadays I have two go to books - Lord of the Rings JRR Tolkien & The Stand by Stephen King.

Hi all, reasonable couple of days here 😁. Tackled the tree stump which was regrowing at a rate of knots 😂. Filled the green waste bin with all the branches that had sprouted from the base and a bit of wild rose that has stalks like razor wire. I have been battling with both of these for a few years. The tree was self seeded and has been cut down twice. Last year I resorted to some stump killing stuff but that obviously didn't work so when I find the bottle that can be binned 😂. The wild rose was here when I bought the house and I suspect it was the root stock of a decorative rose originally but that bit has long gone. I have lost count of the number of times I've dug this up and it just pops up further along the next year. If it weren't for the horrible stalks I would probably be happy to leave it as the flowers and hips are pretty. I couldn't cut it all back as the bin was full and we are a week away from getting it emptied..

A big picnic rucksack with a removable freezer pack was given to OH. Trip to the bag wash and 4 LDFPA, session of ironing completed. I broke out a new purse from my stash as I decided after the loss of the debut card it could probably do with being replaced. I always find a new purse traumatic 😂. Lr bin was emptied. Some planters and vases were rehomed from the conservatory, a giant ball of string was also rehomed, no idea where it came from 😂 and a soft toy put in the washing queue.

In between times we had a meal out with a friend who we haven't seen for months. Another friend who is having a hard time with her son plus being the main carer for her 90 year old Dad who now can't get up the stairs. They have had a wet room installed downstairs which has helped but he is resisting having a bed downstairs and sleeps in the recliner. She has managed to get some medical help in the form of the district nurse who is visiting to dress an ulcer on his leg and is going to try to get a few blood tests organised for him as she suspects diabetes.

@Weenancyinamerica belated happy birthday, sounds like you had a lovely time but sorry to hear about your sister, big hugs.

Right time to get weaving, nothing planned other than more rehoming stuff from the conservatory and more dust removal 😂.

Hi chums, How's tricks?

I have spent a lot of time on the garden. The front is almost done. Mares tail and bindweed are responding to digging out baby plants, though if I ever stop they would soon take over I am sure. I have faffed about a lot with the placement of stepping stones. I need 3 more which I will add at a later date when I unearth suitable bricks in the back garden. I have spent a huge amount of time tending to and emptying the garden pots. I have given away lots of plants and planted out stuff into the front garden. I have also split lots of plants into plastic pots to pass on when they have rooted. I will try to sell some of the empty ceramic pots. I just don't need the watering work of so many. I have rearranged the back garden pots. My hostas are a bit savaged and sun burnt. I will give them TLC next year. I have also had a re think about the design for the back garden. Doesn't sound much but this has taken several hours every day. Mind you I am sat on the ground to do all this! Oh, my solar powered fountain came. Chatsworth are bricking themselves.🤣 Mrs SD look up Chatsworth fountain.

No painting has occurred. I will do painting later in the week when it gets too hot to be outside.

Other stuff left at the gate and claimed.😍

A mouse decluttered. Don't know of it came in by itself or if Fluffy brought it. I came down stairs yesterday to see it helping itself to cat biscuits in the kitchen. Fluffy for all her not liking Fomo is very lost and is still looking for him.

Good to see you @Vulpix. Hope you had a few quiet days to yourself after a difficult time. I had some plans for this morning which haven't happened - children dropped off at 7.30 but they went back to bed. DGS4 soon up and dressed and has eaten large brunch. DGD4 has not stirred out of bed and is due to be picked up in next hour so nothing done. I will go out after they have gone - they are back tomorrow but not sure what time. A little more weeding done but it is very hot.

Mr Sox is not pleased with me as I shut him in the porch overnight. There is carpet in there and windowsills but no food or litter tray (not that he ever uses it) - I noticed door was ajar as I went to bed and just shut it without checking. Open doors are irresistible to cats. Children have decluttered most of food in house so I'll need to get some for next few days.

I spent some time doing family history and found a few useful for bits to add to my records. I spent some hours reading Scottish records which are free but not indexed - Virtual Volumes of Presbytery minutes - I have a lot of Scottish ministers in my tree from 17-19th centuries but the writing is a challenge. It was good to find a short item I could copy for my direct ancestors, John and Agnes, who were married on 22 February 1677 at Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. My 7 x great grandparents. It doesn't say much just their names and the date and the statement that they are now married. John was the town schoolmaster. I knew it was the right couple as biographies of their son, also John, name the parents. John, junior, had a more illustrious career as a Moderator of the Church of Scotland, a Chaplain to George II and Principal of Edinburgh University. Marriages in Scotland are not easy to find as there was no requirement to marry in a Kirk and many people married at home - there was basically no requirement other than to declare before two witnesses that you were married and I have quite a few known marriages right up until the mid nineteenth century where I have found no written evidence.

Right I need to do useful things now.

Busy trying to sort trip and look for some work - ideally part-time.

Dd2 sorted her room again with friend - i backed off. As I took items to cs will count as 10 although more and she has to also more the rubbish into the large bin. I added a pyrex dish to cs, lots of receipts out paper recycling. Major issue with bank and waiting for a call back. Counting as 15 so 1323.
