Oh I can't believe I never confirmed this but last week I decluttered my NAME!
Me, Sister and Mum all decided to move back to my Mums maiden name.
Just working my way through all the companies I need to let know - sooooooo many!
But I am very happy, we now have the same name as my lovely wee Granny who passed away in 2020.

How lovely @Miss_BaLu
Ah, Swallows and Amazons - loved it (nothing rougher to compare it to, haha). I still have all 12 books. I also have a box set of the Narnia novels.
I do remember reading Nancy Drew too but can't remember anything about the books!!
One of my 'comfort reading' authors as an adult is the 'Miss Read' books, set in probably the 1950s with a primary school teacher in a rural setting as the lead character. Observational rather than exciting.
Wouldn't ever declutter those!

My DD was not keen on reading until she discovered the Enid Blyton books - I know they are not considered PC these days but they got her reading something she still does avidly in her 50s. She has those books in her bookcase at home. DGS4 was here yesterday and slept overnight. He slept in the room his sister normally uses as Sox was fast asleep on his bed tummy on display and DGS4 said it wasn't fair to move him! He played in pool with his friend most of the day yesterday - I can't fill it with hose but the odd bucket of clean water is allowed to top it up a bit. I did eventually get round to cleaning my kitchen floor which was disgusting. I have done a bit of weed clearing out the front - another small pebbled area where some weeds keep coming back through the very old black fabric. They are in the way for the new fence neighbours are putting up so I am trying to clear them and replace black weed control fabric. I've done the first ten feet and about another twenty feet to go.
I've been down to DS2s for barbecue and children can stay there over night. Not much decluttering done except money.

@Yorkie1 I still have my childhood box set of the Narnia novels on my library shelves :)
Went back into the loft today and scouted round for whatever is left aside from books (and the stack of DH's stuff). Very little left now! There's the books, empty boxes for some things we may sell, suitcases, a few storage bits and pieces that is helpful when the kids need different storage boxes etc, xmas tree/decorations and some spare coat hangers. That's pretty much it.
Still chipping away at the kitchen.. one recipe card at a time 🤣

@miss_BaLu congratulations on your name change. I had the honour of helping a friend choose her new surname following her divorce, she didn’t want to revert to her maiden name and wanted one with meaning it also happens to be a surname in her wider family so it works well. Yes, it helps if I can declutter to someone who will benefit from my decluttering - J was very excited by the glittery nail polish opportunities available to him! Fortunately he looks like a rock god and works in IT so nail polish is quite in keeping with his look.
DSis and I decluttered 2 bags of misc bits yesterday to the charity shop and they’re benefiting from my gift aiding.
I also came away with a new birthday cake candle candelabra which is excellent news as my old one had broken and I had been planning on replacing it. I also came home with another Venetian style glass picture frame which is perfect for a birthday card I received!

<delurk alert ….>
Good evening @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, I’m an avid reader (love how motivating it is here) but don’t post as I don’t seem to be making any inroads into anything! 😉
Re your Sis’s kitchen stuff, if she isn’t actually using it, could it be relocated somewhere accessible but not actually in the kitchen? We have a thing in manufacturing where items that have to be kept (brackets for removing rollers for annual services for example) are stored safely but accessibly elsewhere so no one is tripping over them day to day. Is there a sideboard or a corner of a cupboard in a hallway that could be used for these items?

Another glorious restful day, starting to feel almost human again! @Mrs_Salad_Dodger my DH is pretty awesome!
Belated Happy Birthday @weenancyinAmerica sounds like you had a good day. Sorry to hear your sisters health problem. My BIL was down to 7% on his kidney function and is now on dialysis, he’s doing well, best wishes for your sister.Dinner for both was from freezer plus I took some apple crumble out for tomorrow. I’m seeing gaps woohoo.
Spent some time choosing curtains for the new kitchen. DH said he preferred curtains (we currently have roller blinds) I knew exactly what I wanted and didn’t take long to find. Worked out cheaper to buy ready made than to buy fabric and make myself. Also found some self adhesive wallpaper in exactly the right shade of green. I want to cover a storage box we use in the bathroom for loo rolls. Didn’t want to buy anything as this one, only an old Post Office delivery box, works super well. It just sticks out like a sore thumb as it’s red and the newly decorated bathroom is white and green.
Did do my whites wash this afternoon ready to go out in the morning. And the dishwashers been on. Have 2 items sold on Vinted wrapped and ready to go too. Saving my “solds” money on Vinted towards anything else I may find I need for new kitchen.Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, have a good night, sweet dreams xx

Hallway is now clear. All the old accounts boxes have been emptied and everything that needs keeping is in just one small box. There are a couple of categories to go through but if anything needs to be kept from these it can go in another small box. So, lots into recycling and shredded. A bit more shredding to do tomorrow and if I have any brain power left after today’s marathon session I will go through the remaining categories. If not, they can be hidden in another room temporarily.

No decluttering but had a lovely couple of days camping in Norfolk. Went to Stow Hall Gardens yesterday https://stowhallgardens.co.uk. I used to live just down the road and didn’t know it was there. Today we went to an open garden in Norwich. It’s fabulous. https://www.facebook.com/Hellesdontropicalgarden/ We were amazed it was so lush.
Cats came as well. The owner had previously given us permission to bring the cats. The cats were very popular. On the way home, Tifa was feeling warm so we put a wet towel on her cool mat and hung her fan over her. We are always freezing because of the aircon.
