well done @Spendywendywoo - there's nothing wrong with ad hoc bursts of energy and inspiration!
Nice breakfasts @BlueJ94
Bet you felt good at finding those bags and your other progress @Liverpool_Anne
Very creative @Florenceem
well done @Siebrie good luck with the key
hope your new card arrives quickly @Liverpool_Anne
@QueenJess the sizing and compatibility of baking stuff is a nightmare, isn't it? Different widths, depths, diameters, etc. Unless you've got all of one make, they never fit together!
Decluttered the two builders' bags of brambles / thistles at the tip on the way back from work yesterday. I'd had them in the car since Sunday, and had to wait for a bookable slot at the tip. They'd steamed up the car each morning!!
Have started to get rid of some older emails but it's slow going. I need to get some photos off my Google drive and onto the computer, so I'm not as close to the max storage limit.
Have also cluttered some clothes and food. I went to collect some sandals I'd ordered, only to find the shop doors were shut at 522pm, with the shop not closing untl 530pm. Grr. And my feet hurt!!
So I went to M&. on the way back to the office. Quite a few things jumped into the basket. But they will at least be eaten fairly quickly.

Popping in although no decluttering but had to tidy and do a little prep and cooking as had a couple of friends round for the afternoon/ evening. Good expeirience to show me how easy to get to things and what is needed. Throw for example as got colder outside and working out serving dishes as many passed on.. will need to reflect on this.

Friday was another bright sunny day with a high of 25°C feeling 2° warmer due to a WNW wind & a low 12°C. Still no rain forecast 😞 DH watched the Silverstone MotoGP practice sessions & I cleared more recorded programmes. DSis had a tuna pasta bake for dinner whilst DH & I had salmon fillets, boiled new potatoes & roasted tomatoes. Wudupa.

Morning, so nice to wake up to a pretty tidy and clean house, or at least the kitchen/ dining room having tidied for guests and cleaned after dd2 went away with her dad.
Want to sort out my phone and remove stuff ready for trip and also organise and get things to pack. Off to dd1's new place today as picking up keys as will be builder sitting tor 2 days later this week and then my cousins for a friend's birthday gathering .
Mrs SD the crockery was a sale and the lady has asked if I have more of the same -of course!! How much I release i'm unsure. Gone is a large platter and small tureen ( with saucer/ lid and ladle). Have more of these serve ware and soup bowls and plates surviving from what was a 12 place setting ( so 9 and 11). Will definitely keep some plates and bowls although I may wait til after my trip to decide. Justin comes to mind.
Hope everyone has as good a weekend as possible and remember the tlc carriage- think some of the food friends brought round will be left there, cheese and smoked salmon and the large amount of summer berries and Greek yogurt so all healthy. I'm sure some cakes and scone will also be available 😀

Skip number 2 arrived. Operation garage will commence today. I really don't have much left, just a handful of things. Then it will be just be sort out what's left.
Hopefully by the end of today, garage will have most items.

Unexpected decluttering of glass bowl as I reached for something in the fridge and it fell from the top shelf, glass shards scattered some great distance so time spent hoovering etc.

Wood disposed of, boxes and packaging also in skip.
Got a box full of things ready to go to school on Monday. That will then mean operation garage will be complete.

I find it ironic that lots of people online tell you to start decluttering somewhere with no emotion and always suggest the kitchen. For me, I find it the hardest place to declutter. I absolutely love food and almost everything I do has food in mind 😂 I used to even holiday to places based on how nice the food was there!
I think I have lots of bakeware/cookware that is useful for one thing, but there's something better for another. It's a nightmare to work out what I actually need and if I can make do with one over another. If it was just me living here I would box it all up and only get out what I needed to use to make it easier, but I don't think DH would approve..
I've decided to be brave today though. I've had two pizza trays my mum gave me and they are just awful now and need binning. I can't find a tray to replace them with at the moment and having a bit of trouble deciding. However, I already have a flat tray I can cook one pizza on anyway and I usually make the one for DH and I. So, I can use another tray I have that isn't round, but I can shape the pizza however I want. I could even turn the tray upside down. We don't cook two pizzas that often and so I'm sure I can be inventive - I could probably just put it straight on the oven shelf. So I am just going to bin the trays and see how it works out. It's quite possible I'll decide I won't need another one anyway.
Another of my loves is books… I have a pile in the loft which I need to go through for the kids. They like different things so no point in saving those from DS for DD. I need to confront my childhood books and probably accept some of these haven't aged well (in terms of being relatable to kids rather than their condition) and just need to go now. I also know there's some up there that I would love to read to DD…. the Magic Faraway Tree is there somewhere and I'm sure she'll like those. Off to bring some books down now and will see how far I get this afternoon.

My hyper-fixation with the garden continues but I am working at a steadier pace now. DS & I have completed assembling the tool cabinet and it's not only useful but very cute - everytime I look at it , it makes me smile. I have this morning found some thick slate place-mats to put under the feet to keep it off the soil - here's hoping they are strong enough - they weighed a ton carrying them home from the CS.
Other than that I have been sorting and raking in small bite sized chunks.
Had a lovely morning with my cousin who came to visit and now I will have a rest before I resume gentle raking!
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend - thanks for the encouragement ☀️
