Decluttered lots of paint off of front window ledges today using scraper and sander. It doesn't sound much but took a full 2 hrs. DH then swept and cleaned them all off and the top of dividing side wall and did the painting. It still needs the main house lower masonry done and the pavement wall bit it is a good start on the front and looks a lot cleaner and tidier.it may be mid September before we start landscaping our little front garden. Hopefully we will still have time before winter.

I completed a frog and arranged a man to clean double oven for free ( as part of our deal when we bought it.) also ordered new dish washer as ours broke down this morning and after ringing up for a fix and seeing the prices it was nearly cheaper to buy one. Considering you get a years free warranty etc we will be better off.

So sad. J took his own life - threw himself in front of a lorry. I am praying but this is such a traumatic time for my son, his wife and J's brother F.

F has global development delay and has been told his brother died in a car accident. I think F doesn't really understand that J has gone for good.

J's great grandmother aged 97 was here today and told the same as F.

There is now no chance for my son and dil of being grandparents.

F had a meltdown this afternoon - I think all the visitors and a change of his routine caused it.

F is suspended from his SEN college at present because of a serious meltdown. F is over 6 foot and very strong

I don't know when I am going home. I will need to do so to collect clothes for the funeral.

@Florenceem there are no words, I really am so very sorry.

Headen Warren fire is out thank goodness and our amazing fire people. The National Trust, who own the land, brought a helicopter in this morning to drop water where the fire people couldn’t get to because of how the land slopes into cliffs. Just glad it’s over.

Emptied all the drawers in the tall white unit but I don’t really want to let it go, it’s so handy, on wheels too. I am thinking of doing a really thorough job on the airing cupboard and relocating the drawer unit next to it for all the meds and first aid things. Might make sense to have things we may need in an emergency to be close at hand….needs thinking on.

Hope everyone is okay. We’ve seen forecast of 30 Degrees again for us next week😫😫
