Well, I am now on leave for 2 weeks. I got all my projects to where they needed to be, with time to spare. But then I had to write handover emails for various people about things, which always takes longer than you think.

I have fewer excuses now for procrastinating … got 4 days before going to down mum's for a week, and then 4 days after I get back. It will soon go.

Another decent day here. Woke to a lovely cool day, it had been raining but stopped by about 0930.
Nice man came to collect and pay for items listed on our local site, happy and grateful.
2 boxes of books collected.
Found the chargers to 2 heavy dangerous looking tools that DH said can go.

Woken at 0515 by terrific noise, turned out to be my grandfathers photo falling off the wall. Bad thing: the glass and frame are shattered. Good thing: I saw the back of the very old photo for the first time and it has names on!! I THINK it is my great aunts wedding and my grandfather is her brother in law, her being my Nannie’s sister. Must get the magnifier out to see if I can identify others. DH cleaned all the glass up as I walk around the house unshod, there was copious amounts of 🤬🤬🤬🤬swearing, bless him, well it was just after 0500!!

Dinner was same as yesterday with some cooked today extra veggies.

Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for medals, goodness me DH will soon have a chest full!

We are not decluttering over the weekend. DH needs to rest his back and I need to get a lot listed on selling sites and into a proper pile.

Floor plans for the loft conversion have arrived. The bedroom where the dormer will be is marginally smaller than the corresponding bedroom beneath but I can’t get my head around the size of the second bedroom. I feel bamboo canes and tape measures as needed.

Dsis has added some bits to the Vinted pile so I shall least those tomorrow before the shed gets tidied (stuff has been bunged since the rain came) and the garden bed gets dug over.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Friday is an overcast damp day with a forecast high of 21°C, low of 16°C & a W wind making it feel 3° cooler. DH left 08:05 for a day of RBR, fingers crossed that he has a dry day 🤞especially as here there was a light drizzle at 09:00 🙁 DH phoned at 16:55 - he was rained on going round the M25 but it has stayed dry whilst he was going round Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex & is coming home via Surrey. DH got home 18:45. Usual Friday dinner - tuna pasta bake for DSis & salmon, boiled potatoes & tomato salad for DH & me. Wudupa.

1482 - 1484 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, plastic bottle - recycled 

1485 - 1486 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned

Aha, the suggestions for visualising spaces. Yes, they do help. We had our potential extension in the garden using hose and the garden furniture and cardboard. Its certainly not perfect but definitely helps

Decluttered a 4 1/2 year legal battle yesterday. Got the official paperwork concluding it was all over yesterday morning.

Can not even describe the stress that it has caused over the years and the relief I feel not having the weight of it hanging over me.

took my sewing machine for its first service in 14 years. Turns out i had bent the bit that feeds the fabric through. I suspect it has been like that for ages. Anyway hopefully it will run easier now.

Found an old pocket radio, probably 15 or 20 years old. Sold on eBay straight away. 24 hours from listing to posting. Only £10 but easily worth the effort.
