The house is in chaos and the cat is stressed. The decorators came at 8am this morning to do the prep work in my lounge and dining room for the plasterer on Monday. They could definitely strip wallpaper quicker than me and without a steamer. I can't get into either spare bedrooms so doors have been shut and I'm ignoring them for two weeks. I'm looking forward to the finish article just not the process. And I've had time to worry about my colour choice!
Whilst loitering in my bedroom today I filled a black sack with 'stuff' for the bin and threw away 3 tee shirts and a pair of knee high boots not good enough for CS. I Added six tee shirts to a bag for the CS.
Wall lights from lounge have been added to the tip pile with my old kettle. Although I can't get to them there are several things I moved up stairs and I'm wondering why? As I don't want to put back downstairs.
Stressed cat declutterred some cooked chicken, hand fed on my bed lunchtime, it hasn't helped that I've moved his food bowls!

Saturday is a bright sunny day with a forecast high of 22°C, low of 13°C with a WNW wind making it feel 1° warmer. I have become engrossed in something called “The Terror” 3 series but each series is a standalone story. Currently watching the 3rd series & have just 2 episodes left. DH made up some food for the worms. Dinner was sausage & spinach linguine 🤤

Hi all, sorry for being missing again 😁. It was quite hectic while my Dniece and her DH were here but it was so lovely to see them. We spent a lot of time sitting and chatting over cups of coffee in various places and had 2 lovely meals out with lots of chatting 😁. We visited various places like tourists and did the ferry cross the Mersey thing which was quite busy as there was a cruise ship in which disgorges their passengers right into the heart of the city and they all have to have their photos taken with the various Beatle statues near the ferry terminal 😂 but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did I 😁. The days just flew by but it felt non stop while they were here and I took a couple of days to recover 😂. Since they have left I have been on 2 walks with the ranger service locally and had a meet up with my friend E who was going into hospital for a knee replacement the next day so I was a distraction for her 😂. I have spent quite a bit of time helping to sort out OH's pension thing, we are now waiting for some more information about a particular thing that we couldn't get definite answers about on the phone but OH is feeling much less stressed about it so that is a win 😁.
Decluttering has continued in fits and starts between times, the car was emptied of various bits of carp, sessions of ironing, hoovering and damp dusting happened, 3 LDFPA when the rain stopped 😂, emails deleted, 5 bottles of weedkiller decluttered to OH, I never use it really except as a last resort but OH had bought it and never taken it so that has gone to be used in OH's garden, blood test decluttered and various bins emptied.
A union thing has landed and I will make a start on that today and see what else I can get done after that 😁.
Re the lavender I endorse what Vulpix and others have advised, take loads of cuttings but it will not regrow from old wood. I tend to treat lavender as a short lived plant, usually no longer than 5 years as it goes woody in the centre, it's just the way it grows, so replace it with plants from cuttings. I have in the past grown lavender from seed but it takes about 2 years to get to a reasonable size 😁.
Right time to get something done 😂. Hugs to everyone who would like one.
I am adding 22 to my numbers, there was probably more but I haven't written it down and I can't remember it now 😂 so now 2083/2026.
Take care everyone

Was feeling a bit stressed again, but was mainly because I needed to tidy up a bit and sort out the kids declutter piles. I tackled the declutter piles today and have everything bagged/boxed up ready to be sent to their new homes. I feel much better now and will be getting the bagged/boxed things out of the house over the next week between myself and DH. I even packaged up a return ready to go.
I did some tidying yesterday and will do a bit more later, but it all looks much better already. At least all the boxing up used up a lot of packaging/bags! I'm starting to have to be inventive on how to get things packaged up as I have little left.
I am still sticking to doing 2 things from my to do list everyday and no more. That includes a load of washing as I am trying really hard to cut down on stuff that needs doing and just do less. I'm still trialling it out to see if it works and am hoping the things that always get pushed to the bottom of the list just don't need to be done. Today I need to do some club stuff for DD and look at some secondary school things for DS, so that's the two items that are most urgent to do.

Morning all.
I definitely think my lavender is more like 30 years old so it will all come up. I will try to do some cuttings and get some new plants. There are a couple of smaller ones which I may try putting in pots. I have only one meeting this week so I plan to alternate gardening and frogs as well as preparing for the builders. I will probably have DGCs overnight all week. We will see how the 'no school runs' goes this week. I don't mind taking them sometimes as we can move slowly towards independence. DS2 (their dad) will cook dinner for us but he is away at end of the week.

I've had soup and a sandwich and its raining intermittently outside so I am going to tackle that hall cupboard of doom. I'll take a picture of before and after. Not sure how I am going to arrange it afterwards but I no longer need to use it for loft access which is now outside in the hall.

Thank you everyone for your advice and kind words about my ROD, I did a few more things in there yesterday and I can see some more of the floor.
Sales are going very well, I've made more money in 6 days then I did for all of August.
Washing has been pegged out, it was meant to rain this morning but it didn't happen, some more ready to put on tonight.
We are hoping to go to Matlock Bath for fish and chips tomorrow weather permitting.
DS is back at school on Tuesday, last night he was upset as he has been going out with my dad and there dog in the morning during the holidays and he won't be able to so he said he doesn't want to school.

Sunday is bright & sunny with a few fluffy clouds in a blue sky. Forecast high of 26°C, low of 15°C & a S wind making it feel 2° cooler. DH made my first cuppa & decided to take advantage of the nice weather to a short RBR (Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire) run on the motorbike - leaving at 13:15. Just watched an odd film “Deadpool and Wolverine” but only because I really like Hugh Jackman 😉 Thought I should finally declutter something/anything so opened a cupboard in the dining room wall unit & recycled 15 magazines (1493 - 1507)
Great cheerleading vulpix ☺️ Hopefully being successful at losing weight will result in you getting an early date for your knee operation which would make it easier to keep the weight off 🥹 As to This “Baby sitting done. HOW did I ever do this 365 days a year with my own kids?” I do believe you were quite a bit younger 🙊 Good luck with both your continuing work in the garden & project ‘declutter clothing’ 🍀
More excellent work in the garden 👏 I am awarding you & your DSis a medal 🏅🏅each 😊
Good decluttering suzeesu2000 👏
Brambling, sorry to hear about the chaos & your stressed cat 😔 Hopefully the two weeks will fly past & you will be extremely happy with the work 🥹 Excellent decluttering in the bedroom 👏 a medal🏅is on its way.
17:15 DH phoned - although the weather has been good he has not enjoyed himself as traffic has been horrendous 😖 Took 45 minutes to get to MrS for petrol (usually 25 minutes), heavy traffic, burning car & finally a broken down car on a country lane 😞 He is hoping to be home by 18:30 🤞Now that my concentration has been broken I will post this & return later to finishing the cheerleading. I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊

Comedy frog done today. We have two big wisteria plants on our house. Our lovely gardener knows how to prune them but always gets chop happy. Last winter it was so badly hacked he couldn’t look at me. So i resolved to put on my big girl pants and do it myself. I don’t mind the pruning but it is impossible to get our big ladder up the wall properly because the wisteria gets in the way. So i definitely need my husband to foot the ladder. Well its 95 percent done. I might manage the last 5 percent in the winter if we cut a very large pyracantha back a bit so i can get the ladder nearer. I also managed to move the ladder on my own. I can carry it but manoeuvring it to the wall when vertical was tricky. I think my pilates class has helped.
I have also started stripping a super cute fireplace i bought on marketplace about 8 years ago. That is definitely a frog. It was stuck behind loads of stuff in the garage of doom. When we cleared the garage it came out. I am doing a bit at a time because the stripper mustn’t dry out. I will post a photo when it is done. I also have the same fireplace in another colour, also not fitted! I have a thing for fireplaces.
A less cheery frog was to set up a YouTube account for our tiny business. I managed in the end but I was definitely channeling grumpy old man for a while. I don’t understand why IT and social media is so difficult. We definitely have a gap in our young people. My kids are too old to help and my grandchildren are too young. Anyway i am muddling through and managing as best i can.
