I did 2 baskets of ironing this morning.

Curtains are finished and hanging in the kitchen - my dil is very happy with them.

Today I went with my son and dil to collect F from his day centre.

On the way home we went to a farm shop where they sell yummy ice cream. I had a lemon curd cornet - very refreshing.

My son has ordered 2 feather inserts as I have enough fabric for two more cushion covers. I will need to get more linen fabric for cushion cover backs.

Mixed day, nice for me but DH is not feeling good.

Sold more on eBay and Vinted so all packed. The Vinted things posted today and the eBay thing going tomorrow. Sold a big price item just now too. Going well and we are very grateful that anyone buys from us.

Sorted another box to go as a job lot, have another bag to go through to possibly add more to it.

Even though he is poorly, DH managed to give me 3 more big sacks of things to sell.

DF and her daughter brought birthday card and present this afternoon, bless her heart she was so thoughtful that we are decluttering. Lovely and very useful gifts. Plus I gave her the gift bag back so she can use it again! My sister in law sent a fern in a ceramic pot which is perfect for the kitchen windowsill. DH bought my usual perfume, I wear it every day and the current bottle has about 3 days left in it. I’ve had lots of birthday wishes and online cards. I am blessed. First birthday without my mum and I have very much missed her; she would always ring and sing Happy Birthday over the phone and then ask, with a chuckle ”and HOW old are you today?” Then laugh. It’s a happy memory.

Had a BLT for dinner, used bacon from freezer and last of the lettuce and toms.

Donated a bag of books to Tesco for their Sight for Wight stall, they have a bookstall and ask for a donation for the donated books which then goes to a small local charity which helps visually impaired people on the island.

Looking forward to getting more done tomorrow.

Skipping through quickly due to being away but @Florenceem you know you have all of our support and frankly I think you're doing a brilliant job supporting your family. Please take time too to care for yourself. And pass on a big hug to your bestie as she sounds lovely.

@GrannyKate - there's lots of videos online on how to propagate lavender. They make it sound dead easy but it might be worth a try.

Meanwhile…… Brussels was nice. We've been before so no big surprises. But I insisted that we would get taxis to and from because OH isn't able to cope with the distance (no matter what he thinks) so that was a tad £££ive. EmilyLou Harris concert, the reason of our visit, was good. She's losing her voice, couldn't hit some notes that she knew she could a decade or 5 back. That's ok. She was enthusiastic. OH was completely besmitten (as expected) and the concert was really good. We did less than what we might have done due to not being able to walk the distances but that's ok. My S said he didn't mind not getting cigars as we'd both got hats instead. OMG! (& I never say that) I spent about £100 on a straw hat!!! OH got one as well (fur felt, not straw) but he's got a whole library of hats which he wears on a regular basis. A proper poppinjay!!!

Plasterer started at 8am so the cat is as expected stressed again. I reallocated into my bedroom and did some more sorting.

Black sack of clothes/nightware/underwear not suitable for CS added to tip pile for their textile bin

Six more items of clothes added to the six tee shirts in the CS bag including a jacket I think was probably purchased in a year starting with 1 and the skirt has long gone. If I ever fit into it is so dated I wouldn't wear it.

One handbag added to CS bag, not that old but slips off my shoulder all the time, it was brought to distribute the weight when I was waiting for my hip op.

Second handbag not used since winter emptied of lurking items (tissues, mints, pens etc and £1,23 in change) It's will get used in winter for train trips etc

2 shoe boxes kept for unknown reasons recycled.

1. Daily To Do List - written the night before
2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Monday is cloudy with the sun occasionally breaking through. High of 24°C, low of 17°C & a WSW wind making it feel 2° cooler. Sorted out 4 small drawers in the dining room wall unit. Now like with like & much tidier + added a small fancy box & some magnetic butterfly decorations to CS bag (so not counting yet 😉) Also found a gift bag full of special birthday cards. I managed to halve the contents - 0.5” shredding & 0.5” recycling (1513 & 1514) DH made cheesy pasta for dinner just the seven different cheeses 😉 Wudupa

1518 Kitchen detritus binned 

Green_hopeful, great news that the newly serviced sewing machine is working so well that even your husband noticed ☺️

Brie - I know that there is nothing I can do for my son and dil that will ease their pain. Time will in some ways dull the pain but it will be a lifetime of feeling the loss. His grandad says - he was a stupid b…..

Bestie has sent me a message asking for a knitted star pattern. Two Church members have offered to knit stars for the playgroup.

I had a phone call from a retired SA officer - he had been to my house. He didn't know I was away. He knows I don't like flowers so has left a bar of chocolate in my porch.
