An unproductive month for July and unfortunately I couldn't resist buying 3 notebooks that were on offer although they were the only "ins" for the month.

Finally made a start today on sorting out the lounge.

I have 7 wide, deep bookshelves but only use 6 as I can't reach the top one. I want to remove all the books, storage boxes, knick knacks etc to damp dust shelves and contents. Then sort through it all and re-home/declutter/bin as necessary before I replace everything back on the shelves.

I've done half so far and it's taken me an hour and a half. It certainly does get worse before it gets better. However I have been fortunate to find old letters from my Mum which has come in handy as I need to provide all my previous addresses (12) to my pension company and I was getting stuck on remembering the postcodes.

I'm making a list of what is in each box which will save having to pull out each one and search through them for what I need.

I have pulled out my sofa today and cleaned out the detritus that somehow breeds there, I cleaned the skirting boards too, I have pulled the cushions off and freshened everything up. I took all of the cushion covers off of the outside furniture, washed them and put them on the line to dry. They're still there now as I took the dog out and it absolutely threw it down. I'll rinse and spin tomorrow.

Another good day in DHs room. We started the shelves.
Achieved 6 enormous builder type bags of books, 5 boxes of mixed guitar related items and fishing things, 2 tool boxes with various contents, a very large wooden chess set, more musical instruments, a bag of music books, 2 boxes of various leads/wires/chargers and extension cords, another electric fan, fishing rucksacks with extra bits, bait buckets full of fishing things, an electrical cutting thing, some antique fishing rods, a drill in a carry case and 5 bags that have JUST fitted in the recycling bin.
I am awestruck. Firstly at the amount of things on the shelves and secondly that DH has let so much go.
We are both very tired and ouchy.
DH is banned from buying anything ever!🤣
Tomorrow we are tackling the boxes on top of the wardrobe…..just hope I can find room for all he decides can go.

Booked DHs mobility scooter in for repair as he has a flat tire - the scooter not DH.

Cooked beef, onions, peas & mushrooms for a pie tomorrow. One of DHs favourites, he won’t eat shop bought as they contain too much fresh air. Had another Vinted sale, I’m grateful.

We are cat and dog sitting for a friend. They dropped them off today. Her cat is a ragdoll. He is super lovely and very laid back. You would think he lived with us. We were cooking tonight and he decided to help by lying on the rug in the kitchen. Our cats are not sure but the ragdoll is just interested in them.

Decorators are now coming on Saturday to prep my lounge and dining room ready for the plasterer on Monday. A lot of stuff has already gone upstairs,I probably should have sorted it more first 🙄 as it could be a wasted journey for some of it, my spare bedrooms are filling up.

I'm going to have to seriously consider do I reallly need the wool, needles, pattern I brought for a jumper four years ago?

I took 10 books into the bookshop today and brought none home, today I won!
