Thanks for all the courgette recipes, DH is very happy to hear his gardening efforts won't go to waste, and his waistline will hopefully fill out a bit - he's lost so much weight in such a short space of time!

Made 1 sale on vinted this weekend which has already been packaged up and dropped off. I do have three things coming in via vinted though but they were needed for out upcoming trip and such bargains. Going to list a bunch more this evening and hope I can balance things out a bit more!

Morning all.

I don't know whether to wear/pack sandal or shoes as it is September. Then is it tee shirts or jumpers. I am going to almost south Yorkshire for 2 weeks. I feel the cold and I haven't replaced weight I lost since losing Mr F and now my grandson.

Decluttered - sheet, tin of sequin waste, pack of balloons, balloon pump and a magazine.

I once baked courgette-chocolate-cake things and took them to work, where I put them out with a sign: ‘try these Dutch chocolate cakeys with a secret green ingredient 😃’. People were actually worried 😆. I did put the solution on the back of the note. Good memories.

DD2 complained about her school backpack, the day before she has to go back! I went up to the attic where we keep spare bags, and brought down 6 alternative bags and backpacks. While she was trying them out, I went through two cardboard boxes I couldn’t remember putting up there. I was right; they contained very miscellaneous items that husband had gathered and stowed away there. I found my key! Both cardboard boxes are emptied, items put in their correct place, some thrown away, boxes are now flattened and covering weeds in the garden.

I have yesterday and today off work, because the day before and the day of return to school are always hectic.

Aldi were selling under bed rolling boxes for €2, so I bought two, which now hold our swimming towels. DD1 has a swimming instructor student job, teaching toddlers to not be afraid of water; she makes €30/hour! She also needed extra swimwear, because there is a see-through mirror where parents can watch their children, and she didn’t want to flash the parents, so we bought a high-closing bathing suit with complete bumcover.

we used to make a chocolate and ground hazelnut courgette cake. It was delicious. I don’t have a recipe but it was an oil based one like a carrot cake.

This is my ROD, that I needed to sort out, quite ashamed with it, I will have a sort out when DS is back at school.

Enjoy your trip @Brie My brother has lived in Brussels for years now. They are always talking about various museums and forests that they have visited.

That's some impressively unexpected but efficient sorting and decluttering @Siebrie

@Deb4 you'll get there - no need to feel ashamed. I can't even see the floor in my main ROD!

Today has been extremely productive. DH and I emptied the 7’ wardrobe totally. Then we moved on to some plastic totes stacked next to it and a cube with all his footwear. I am SO proud of him! He has decluttered so much. I have a pile of clothing three feet high to sell plus a tote full of footwear. He has been very sensible in what he has decided to keep, thoroughly practical too.
The small table under his small window has gone down to the kitchen for now as I need something to help me with sorting the pantry shelves. Having got it down the stairs, I now feel certain I could complete the Crystal Maze easy peasy!

Tomorrow we are tackling his shelves….6’ tall and 9’ wide. Plus what’s stacked on the top. Looking forward to having one room cleared, clean and tidy. Blimming tiring though for an old gal🤣

lots of good stuff in your ROD. just needs a bit of a tidy. I think when you start you will find lots of things you have forgotten about and will be ok.

Deb4 - a ROD can be conquered - just do it in small steps.

Today has been a mainly family day.

I did my chores then my son, dil and grandson arrived - they are staying at a nearby hotel.. We had lunch and then my youngest daughter arrived from Greenwich and ate. When bestie arrived my daughter and grandson went with me to Margate - I collected my train tickets first. Then we parked and had a walk along to an ice cream place - we all had a whippy cone and walked along the seafront back to the car. We went then to my youngest son's house where my middle daughter arrived with my young J and my granddaughter.

The tide was in and the seaweed was very smelly when we walked along the bay. We sat eating fish & chips then they sprinkled ashes in the sea. Everyone was very emotional. I sat on the steps with young J and grandson F who has learning difficulties. F asked me where his dead brother has gone - I told him what I believe - we are body, mind and spirit. That he can't see his brother now but he lives on in our hearts and minds. He wouldn't understand that I believe our spirit goes to be with God.

I need to tidy the kitchen now as a bit tired.

I will pack my suitcase in the morning.
