I managed to pot up the olive tree and do a tiny bit of weeding before it rained. That took an hour so if I can squeeze an hour a day in, in between rain it all helps. I do seem to be winning with the bind weed. Not so much with the mares tail but me versus millions of years of evolution is a tall ask.

I have decluttered a massive filling. It was as ancient as mares tail! I haven't had a filling forever.I think my dentist as a kid was on piece work. Everyone I know who went to him has a mouth full of ancient fillings. I never had tooth ache, very suspicious that I needed a filling every time I went. Very suspicious that everyone who went always needed a filling. It will be another expense that I will have to use my renovation budget for. Fomo was £777 some pence. Funds disappearing fast.

We are taking Fomo's ashes to the wood where we used to live later. DD2 is here and will come too.

I made a start on the quilt last night. Trimmed the selvedge off and thought about the design. Don't want to rush these things. Started another lap blanket.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Monday is an overcast day with a forecast high of 22°C feeling 3° cooler due to a brisk W wind & a low of 15°C. There are similar temperatures in Kent & neither location is forecast rain 😮‍💨🤞 DH & DSis have both bathed before 10:00 when I got up had a wash, brushed my teeth & got dressed. We are due to set off about 11:00.

Yorkie1, hopefully the youngsters will keep everyone upbeat 👏 M loved spending time with her great nephews & nieces. Excellent work in the living room 👏 & well done moving stuff to its final destination 😊 

Florenceem, please, please don’t feel ashamed of your ROD, you have had a lot to deal with this year 🥺 You have also worked very hard at the decluttering & decorating & as you say you have “conquered the ROD” 👏 More gentle cwtches for you & your son  🤗

I managed to keep all my fingers nails @Mrs_Salad_Dodger from the football ⚽️

I did some of my diamond art yesterday which was quiet relaxing

I have put some more bits in the charity bag, I have put some boxes not needed in the recycling

Emails have made deleted that are no longer needed

More photos taken and have been uploaded, I posted one parcel this morning and packaging used up

Ironing done and put aways, bed sheets have been changed

We had a lot of rain last night and a thunderstorm but I slept though it, not been a bad day today a very dark cloudy and a little shower but the washing has dried

Unfortunately the frog previously dealt with has spawned a froglet (yet to be dealt with).

I visited my RoD as I have lots of shoe boxes there which I want to repurpose for use in the cupboard under the stairs (CUTS). The result was 20 sheets of tissue paper smoothed out and put all together in one box. Six shoe boxes taken downstairs.

3 cardboard packaging items into recycling.

I then moved the loose cleaning equipment from the CUTS - which, if it was designed at all, was designed for pixies. I am not a pixie, so getting in and out means bending nearly double, and using a torch propped up on the tool box. I have some shelves and a set of plastic drawers in there, so started sorting stuff onto my slightly-wonky-but-still-useful card table.

Out (or put aside for out):

Old steam iron, used twice but I found it cumbersome - I prefer my old dry iron. The steam iron is so old that the box says “Made in Britain”! I may ask if the charity shop which takes electrical items can use it, but will probably try it on EBay first.

Any number of perished rubber bands (rubbish)

Instructions for items I no longer have (including one which I hope hasn’t gone to the cs yet)

Back-plate for a stick-on lamp (recycling)

One single plastic caster (cs or rubbish) (or eBay?)

End of a roll about 3 ft of draught excluder (rubbish) and its box (recycling)

Clip-in Fuse plate and fuse from the plug of something long gone (rubbish)

two packs of gone-hard ready made filler (rubbish)

Small empty polycarbonate tub (rubbish)

Ten mini paint testers - half-used, amazingly still soft, but almost certainly not on the current charts (Justin says “keep them, you could do a little project”) (binned)

3 more pieces of paper packaging (recycling) and 2 plastic ditto (rubbish)

That emptied two drawers, tidied two shelves and used two shoe boxes, and four old coffee jars (kept for just such a purpose 😀 ) everything being kept, at least for the present, has been labelled and dated before being put back. Net result: two tidy shelves, one tidy drawer and 🥁🥁 one empty drawer 🥁🥁.

Still loads to do though.

Luckily I’d prepared my dinner and it just needed to be switched on to cook while I tidied up and put the cleaning kit away. I shall do nothing this evening as I am done in.

was lovely to hear the rain last night. Dint last long but we had two fairly substantial bursts.

DH got the huge boxes down from the loft this morning. Then he sorted another four guitars to sell. I did a gazillion photos of every one, all the specs oh my goodness. The good thing is, I learn a bit while doing it. They are now all on eBay. The good thing about clearing my room earlier last years is that I had room to stand the guitars and the boxes until they sell.
While I was eBaying, DH cooked a wonderful roast, I had prepped the veggies earlier.

In one of the guitar boxes there was a load of bubble wrap which came in very handy to wrap something sold last night. Win win. That’s now ready for Mr Postman to collect in the morning.

Got to phone the mobility shop in the morning as DHs scooter has a flat tire. DH has decided he would like us to tackle the huge wardrobe tomorrow, I am really looking forward to it. DH said he wants to get sorted now as he can feel parts of his poor damaged body giving up on him and doesn’t think he will manage anything “heavy” in a years time. Made me sad but glad he’s being sensible.

Hope everyones enjoyed the bank holiday, no more now till December ( see how I didn’t say the C word🤣)

Parcel packaged up with late birthday and Christmas presents x 8 ready to send to a relative tomorrow as I’m not sure if I will be out of action if my tumour is removed before Christmas so getting items sent now. But other hospitals also want to get their hands on me so everyone has to decide what bit takes priority and when!

I have carried on with sorting and decluttering.

I did the blazer sleeves, washed it and steamed out the old sleeve length mark plus sewed in a name tape - then I was told - they have been given a larger size blazer!

I booked my train ticket to come home - from Nottingham to here is under £25.

I think we are sorted for leaving on holdiay tomorrow. I've packed. I think OH has packed. This is the lates time he's pack before leaving so it's a bit of a hoo hahh. He questioned whether he'd pack enough and I've said not to worry as we'll just buy anything we've forgotten and he asked it I knew where the big boys shop was in Brussels. Of to google…..

Today and tomorrow I am in work so other items will be taken there tomorrow when I have chance to sort them tonight.
