Thank you for my stars @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, added to my signature with pride. 😁 After posting yesterday I realised that the recipes could be a starter, a main and a pudding - a full courgette meal. 🤣
I didn't feel I'd done much today but I did buy a new pot for the front garden so the old one will move to the garage on it's way to the tip. I couldn't find the ones I'd seen on the leaflet - I think that the sale had been running for quite a while but instead I chose a large plastic beehive planter in a navy colour. I think that will be enough colour for winter plus it will blend with my smaller blue ceramic pots.
The reason for feeling not much was done was because I 'only' did some vacuuming. It took around 3 hours as I was using the small pet hair head and really took my time going over the carpet. That's a downside of having 2 long-haired, very fluffy cats who shed year round. 😸😸 When I look round I can see the difference.
Apart from that, a few things have been walked around the house and back to their homes and I sorted through the tomatoes I'd been drying in the dehydrator and finished off the few that weren't dry enough in the air fryer. That meant I could put the dehydrator away again.
Birthdays, bank holidays etc. have been marked into my week-to-view diary for 2027 so that's been moved to the top of the writing bureau where hopefully I'll remember that's where I've put it for when it's needed, i.e. around the end of the year, 4 months away. 🤣
Pottering around returning items to their homes turned up old magazines and bits of publicity all of which were consigned to the recycling bag.
I was hoping to get some plants into the ground tomorrow but the forecast is for rain but the forecast has been wrong before so maybe…. 🤞🤣
Well done everyone and thank you @Brambling and @Yorkie1 for your recipes. If you grow courgettes you can never have too many courgette recipes. 🤣
Hugs to all who would like one and love to you all. Dxx

Oooh love love love that green carpet florenceem. Either my mum or my grandma had it one of their houses but in red. It was either picked or was in the house when they bought it. I remember it being down for years. Funny, I'm not sure which of the houses but can remember the carpet so clearly.

Evening all. Exhausting few days - enjoyable visit from my friend and drove her home to Yorkshire overnight. Very difficult circumstances with DGCs home meaning the next few days will be stressful. Won't go in to detail but I expect things to get worse. It shouldn't be our problem but concern for DGCs makes it so. At the very least I am going to be doing a lot of driving.
Nice meal out last night with friend's family but I ate too much too late and was awake with indigestion until gone 2. Plan is a shower and early night. There are frogs I must do tomorrow. DS2 is away at a concert tomorrow and DD at horse camp with torrential rain.

Thanking Vinted and eBay as they have both been kind to me today. 4 sales. Tomorrow I’ll start packing them, just hope I have enough bubble wrap and cardboard!
Had some delightful rain this morning, just right to soak into the parched ground. Also made it much fresher. Had the back door open and it was silent outside. Enjoyed a lovely relaxing afternoon listening to the trees in the wind. Simple pleasures.
Dinner was all freezer. Will be decluttering more from pantry shelves this week too.

Hi, the large scandi bench has gone. I loved it but just couldn't find it a home at this house. I have to be strict from now on and stop wombling stuff that I like and not need.
A lovely day out with my friend yesterday. I bought a very big tree pot, I think it was £34. My friend bought 4 biggish pots and a small squat one that she wants to make into a little water feature. I think hers came to £26. The place is an hour away but I think worth the trip. Not too far for you Granny Kate if you are in the market for pots. It is very close to Cannon Hall which is where we had a lovely lunch. I think Cannon Hall farm is on Springwatch etc. We then went to B&Q who have 20% sale on plants. Got some bellis, some purple winter pansies and a pink delphinium. On then to another beautiful cafe in the Peak national park that I keep under my hat as it would be spoilt if it got instagramable. Tea and cake taken. My friend liked the cup and saucer and said it was the nicest cup she had ever used. They have a shop. Cup and saucer £34.😮
Florenceem, your poor son, your poor family. xxx
We are continuing to have a lot of rain, which is great. I am off into the garden before it starts again.

Hello all. I got up early and have made good progress on the army of frogs. @Vulpix - I assume the Cannon Hall is the one near Barnsley. Late DH and I went there several times with DGCs when they were small but not been for years. I also haven't been to Brodsworth Hall either this year which is quite near there. I see a day out in the near future. Mrs SD - DGCs issues relate to their other home with their mother but will impact on DS2 and me. It is a mess which I expect to get worse.
Started the day off by sorting random bits of paper which resulted in 9 frogs to deal with. Some just filing, others needed action and a few still to do. Also checked my 1p saver as I had got behind but up to date now - this is my Christmas money for family members.
DD is away at a very wet horse event and DS2 and dil have set off for overnight stay and an outside function where heavy rain is expected. Its actually quite nice here at the moment so hope washing will dry.
834 Paper etc sorted into 9 piles to action
835 Stuff and clean clothes all sorted and put away
836-839 Four frogs dealt with straight away
840 Used stamps posted off to local horse sanctuary
841 Savings accounts sorted and updated including 1p savings
842 Banking done for August
843 Shredding done
844 Children's calendars updated along with my diary for next three months
DS2 dropped off a portion of fish pie for my meal today. Sox is out hunting for more mice.

DSis and I have done some gardening.
After all the rain the grass is starting to have a hint of green about it. The strawberries that I pegged down have now been potted on and I have more runners to peg down into pots. They’ve clearly been having a right old party with the recent weather. One of the runner plants has grown 3 strawberries already!

My bestie came to pick me up for Church this morning. She managed to fit all the donations into her car. I have an empty porch.
We carried the donations into the charity shop and then went to the Church. I always clean my glasses when I get to Church and do my phone , then I clean bestie's phone. We couldn't find her phone so she gave me the shop keys so I could retrieve it. Bestie couldn't go as she was getting ready to lead the meeting. I looked in her car which was parked by the shop - her phone was in there. So I walked back to the Church and got the car keys. So I got some extra steps in.
I bought the laundry hampers in Woolworths!
Photos of my porch before bestie arrived.

Evening all. Been a day of mixed weather: bit breezy, bit sunny, bit overcast but no rain.
Packed all the sales. Thank goodness we save all DHs newspapers. I had to pinch some for extra padding. All worked out okay, used up a ton of bubble wrap, some bags that I had received parcels in and lots of Pak-X and parcel tape. Very pleased. Took everything to DFriend as she posts for me, she is a gem.
DH made butchers sausages in baguettes with onions and fresh sliced tomatoes for dinner, was delicious. Having a nice roast tomorrow.
Put the wheely bin out ready for Monday collection - we get ours even on a bank holiday and our bin men are lovely.
Hoping to see more photos of all the lovely gardens, loved seeing all @Florenceem has shared too. Thank you.Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx
