Hope anyone near the Moors fire is okay, my cousin in Widnes tells me they could smell the smoke. Must be terrifying for the poor animals😢 I’ve been worrying about the New Forest and the ponies, everything is so dry.

Decluttered a ton of flattened cardboard boxes from my stash, taped up and now in yard for Mondays recycling collection. Saved about 25% of what was there, now all stacked tidy behind pantry shelves. Put the carpet cleaner away in its proper home. Put all the plastic containers away in their proper home too.
Dinner was freezer and fridge for me, DH not well again so said no.

If I can manage one job a day, I’m happy. @dND I love your wall and plants. Well done @BlueJay room looks great, @GrannyKate I too love the church windows, when you think of the skill involved and the old hand tools they would have used, amazing. Thank you for my gold star @Mrs_Salad_Dodger

Another lovely cool cloudy day here although still sleeping erratically.

Went a bit mad and got the broom out and swept giant cobwebs off both sides of the fences and gate, then did a lot of weeding and plant trimming. More to do but looks much better.

Then washed outside lounge big windows, outside lantern, keysafe and glass panel above front door.

Delved into Pantry of Doom looking for grabber, found it quickly and also missing unused bottle of laundry liquid and weedkiller - double bonus - so v.happy with that.

Outstanding frog - rang hospital - went to voicemail so left a message. At least I've tried, will ring them every day until frog sorted.

Having written it all down it looks more than I felt I had done today.

Hopefully it will inspire me to do more tomorrow 🙂

moginstein - bestie is coming to help me on Friday - I can get photos on to my computer from the phone but can't edit them to reduce size.

My mystery meal from the freezer last night was a curry - I didn't fancy rice so had it with a jacket potato. It was so hot - I had to run to the freezer for an ice lolly. I have half of the meal left so will have it tomorrow.

I booked train tickets last night but all I have on the computer is the Paypal receipt. I will go to the station tomorrow. No J here today - he was doing some painting for his dad.

Overcast and very windy here today.

I carried on with sorting the piles of stuff from the airing cupboard. I have done 90% of it now. I filled my shopping trolley and went into town to the charity shop. I went to Dunhel. again for more sunflowers. I needed black tights for Sunday - got those in Matal.. I got the 3 for £5 in the food warehou.. - I will cook it all on Saturday afternoon. It is for the meal at Church on Sunday. I got mini sausage rolls, cheese & onion rolls and cocktail sausages. - discount day too.

I tried ringing the bereavement line of HMRC. They couldn't stop letters coming for Mr F. I need to phone the agent's dept - average wait time is 20 minutes so will do that another day.

I finished another gnome - Albert this afternoon.

I spent time trying to edit photos but couldn't do it.

Tonight I had the last fish cakes in the freezer with the last chunky chips.

Found the missing papers and an instruction manual I had been looking for. More off the reading pile and a difficult phone call done. Emails down from 213 to 209.

Fairly productive day today. I did some rubbing down and glossing in the downstairs loo and got rid of some more bits:

933 - 934 - 2 cleaning products UU, replaced from stash and bottles recycled

935 - paintbrush binned

936 - small bottle of hand sanitiser UU cleaning things (needed to use it as the cap/ lid had completely broken)

937 - cleaning cloth binned (nice cloth but was full of bits - I spent 10 minutes trying to pick/ wash them off withuot any real success and then thought that life is too short and I have plenty of other cloths! 😄

938 - empty perfume bottle recycled

939 - shirt of DH's binned (buttons removed) - collar was almost worn through!

940 - 945 - 6 books sold

946 - 947 - box and bubblewrap reused on packing books

948 - pair of (fancy, expensive, still in their packaging) tights sold

949 - 950 - box and bubblewrap used on tights

951 - dress sold

952-953 - 2 mailing bags used on dress (1 reused, 1 old stock from work that was being thrown)

955 - 961 massage couch, storage bag, 3 cushions and 2 sets of covers donated and 1 reusable bag to pack some of it in! (I have a large stash of those, too…)

Abit Of digital declutter and a cushion i think has to go to landfill as has a mark and no where locally to recycle!

Chased adult care again for elderly friend, she's been in the temporary care / nursing home for five months, I was concerned as the finance team had stopped invoicing her for her small contributions. I also sorted a credit card issue using their chat facility for her as there were unexplained entries on her statement.

They started putting in my new windows today they will finish the doors tomorrow as it needs builders. So I kept myself busy 🙂 the cat is really not happy about noisy strangers in the house, I haven't told him about the plasterer and decorators coming in September yet,they will be here more than two days!

I've have a way too long summer skirt for about two years very full with a crinkle fabric which I finally cut off the bottom today and took it up, it took forever by the three quarter mark I realised as it is navy on the bottom I could have probably used the sewing machine and no one would have noticed.

Large pile of paper work gathering dust was sorted and either filed, shredded or recycled. I very nearly shredded the keep pile 🙄

I'm eying up my desk now I no longer work from home, I'll just need to think about the printer and where I can put it?

@Floss my dad signed on for the army in Runcorn. My grandparents and great grandparents were quite prolific in and around Widnes owning several farms. I recently found a Runcorn weekly newspaper article on my ggg granny achieving her 80th birthday, it had a photo of her and, on seeing that, I was like a dog with 2 tails, so happy. My grandad and lots of the menfolk also worked at Sunlight, ICI and the copper works. Very industrial area. Granny lived in Coronation Drive - the Smiths crisp factory was almost on the corner I recall. Sadly I only got to visit once in about 1972 I think, way before the M25 was built. Sorry I do waffle on!

Day 14 of the Minimalist Game completed - 104 items so far this month.

I had quite a productive day - got rid of 6 years worth of accounts from the loft, a couple of hard drives & memory sticks. Put some scrap metal out the front of house which was taken within a couple of hours. Did some more cutting back in the garden it's beginning to come together now - it really was very overgrown…

The only thing I spectacularly didn't do was any work admin in spite of putting it in my calendar. I really must make a start on it tomorrow … I've been kicking that can down the road for too long!
