Willowtree, O, how I wish I could donate a load of mugs. People have given Mr V personalised or humorous mugs over the years. I really don't like them. I'm a nice china mug kinda girl.I only drink one cup of coffee a day. Mr V drinks plenty of tea but we must be up to about 25 mugs now. I think there is a box of Mr V's mugs in the shed too that I boxed up when we had too many about 5 years ago.

The drive is clear of the lilac forest. One builders bag taken to the tip, another ready to go tomorrow and lots of trunks to go too. The drive looks huge. Stumps are still there so it will all grow back but I hope J the builder will dig it out before it gets too big.It's all in a rockery, 3 foot wide in places. My friend helped me or I would be out there now cutting stuff down to fit in the bags. I also managed an hour in the front garden. First digging up all the new sprouted bind weed that has come through in the 2 days I was away and another section of garden deep weeded. Very, very close to finishing the first round of deep weeding. Should be just a simple job of whipping baby weeds out as they appear now until they just give up. My next job is to put more reclaimed bricks in as a path. Then to start cutting stuff down in the back garden.

Hi all, not much done today but knackered again 😂. After the session of duvet wrangling this morning I went to the bag wash and got it all dry on the line though I did have to have a sit down in front of the fan after hanging it out 😂. So 2 LDFPA. The strap on my sliders came away so major hunt for the super glue which I eventually found only to find the glue had gone hard so that was binned. The 2 laundry hamper things were dismantled and the fabric binned. I am debating whether to keep the frames and construct new bags for them as the thing I am currently using is also coming to the end of it's life and will need to be replaced soon.

@Vulpix no point looking for rain, today was St. Swithen's day and according to folk lore of it rains on St. Swithen's day it will rain for 40 days but if it's dry no rain for a while. Not a single drop here 😂

Somine mentioned the problem with MSE spellchecker could be connected to a new chrome setting. I am using my kindle atm and I have no idea how to check that out but I know it started when the forum was "upgraded" . I have problems at the start of every new paragraph and it auto corrects making total nonsense of sentences. I will show an example

Wednesday was another sunny hot day with a high of28°C, low of 17°C & an ENE breeze. HH waste wheelie bin was emptied & I left it open to air before adding the new bin liner.  My sole contribution to decluttering was to deal with today’s mail 😉 DB phoned DSis - currently on holiday in Norway with his wife & 2 boys. DH tidied up the hedges in the back garden & strimmed the lawn aka scrubland out front. Then spent a couple of hours making a start on tidying the garage. He managed to add a few bits to the Tip bag - counting as 6 (1159 - 1164) Dinner was from the chinese chippy - DH & DSis had chips, fish, meat pie & sausages whilst I had special chow mein. Wudupa.

1165 - 1169 Kitchen & office recycling, drinks cans, 2 magazines - recycled 

1170 - 1171 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned

I have fallen behind with the cheerleading again 😬 

Brambling, your elderly friend is so lucky having you to fight her corner 🥹 Hopefully the new windows & doors are all fitted & the fitters/builders have made a good job 🤞Well done on shortening the skirt & clearing the paperwork mountain 👏

Liverpool_Anne, duvet wrangling & hanging out laundry in hot weather is exhausting so I am not surprised you are knackered 😔 Re the laundry bag frames, perhaps set yourself a time limit on keeping them 🤔 sounds like it would be a good job for a rainy day…….. when one eventually happens 🤞The spellchecker issue is a pain ☹️ although sometimes it can be ‘fun’ trying to work out what is being said 🤭

Glad I am not the only one with loads of mugs. Unfortunately, it is my addiction that is the problem, although I have got better and not bought many, despite being tempted. Of the ones I took to work, only one would come home with me.

I do have another to take in, but could also gift it to a teacher as it is unused. I might save it for the Christmas hamper.

Good Morning! Well yesterday I made a start on backlog of work admin - it helped having a short call with the administrator of the new company I'm onboarding with - she was lovely and understanding and the call gave me a definite start time for the work which helped. Today I have some online training to kick off the time I have put aside so I am hoping that will have a similar effect.

Decluttering continued and I have now completed day 15 of the minimalist game (120 items this month). I ventured up in the loft and decided to part ways with some prints that are nice but haven't found a place in my house for years - so they will go off to CS today so that someone else can appreciate them. Also, DS agreed to part with some stuff including a Spain football shirt from when he was a boy and a Ju-Jitsu kit.

This morning I plan to drop stuff off at the Charity Shop, potter in the garden then have a focused couple of hours of work admin. Right off to the loft to return items while it's still cool up there!

Morning all.

Does anyone know where the safe place is that I put my big needles so that i wouldn't lose them? I need to tack some hessian and i can't find them. I thought that I had put them with the material but obviously not!

Box of stuff to the charity shop yesterday so that has made a dent, put a lot of build it boxes into a bigger box so that has cleared some room. I need to empty a drawer unit and get rid too. So many plans but they're on hold until the dogs go home on Sunday.

Cloud burned back early today so it's very warm already.

My collection is plastic picnic plates and cups, they're used when family camping and when we do 'everyone invited' picnics in the park, so about a dozen times a year, at least half of them could go.

MysteryMe - I am doing a set by me challenge to use up dinners so I can run down my freezers and tinned stock. I can't take photos with my camera as the battery is dead and in my house declutter/sort - I don't know where the lead is.

vulpix - I think weeds never give up - at least not in my garden.

I had the LO hot curry again last night. I am thinking of having BE chicken fingers with chips and salad for my dinner today.

I didn't take my tablets until really late yesterday evening so I sat and carried on knitting until I started to doze off. Up late this morning.

I plan to do ironing and washing then move on to other jobs. It will be a day indoors - first for 6 days.

I would like to cut back the plant that has flowered - I don't know the name - will have to lens it to identify. It is black bin this week so I will smuggle a bit of garden waste in it.

Lifted up under the bed and found a box that could be binned, followed by a few other items. All suitably added to the recycling.

Trying to do bits as I go along to keep the momentum as well as having time to tackle the bills jobs as well.

Hi chums I'm a very happy Nanny today my youngest DGS Mikey graduated from Essex University this morning, I am doubly proud of him as the youngest of a girl and three boys he never thought he could do it, as his brothers were always very smart at school, and Mikey is slightly dyslexic and at times struggled with schoolwork and exams, so he has had to work just a bit harder to get his degree .

His Mum and Dad are up there to see his graduate and I'm back at home on the IoW with the dogs. But Mikey sent me a link and the whole ceremony was live streamed so I was able to see our 6'2" beaming young man pick up his degree.

He is very happy-go -ucky, and I doubt I have ever seen him get cross, or not without a big grin on his face .

He says now he's finished Uni he will start to declutter some of the stuff he brought back with him and yesterday he produced three large black bags full of 'junk for a tip run'I

said sure there is nothing we can recycle and he said 'No nan it really is a black bag job :) ' so next week I'll book a tip run.

The dogs have been good and no trouble at all, and her friend Katie and her husband are coming this evening to take them down to the beach for a run, as I can't cope with a very large greyhound and a Westie that is a loony tunes and chases every seagull he sees :) the greyhound would pull me over for a start off.

Its still blistering hot, and although I water the flowers and veg we have lost a good few as its a south facing garden so the heat is intense

I hope every one is ok and not getting too exhausted with the weather. There is lots to do indoors but it can wait until it cools down a bit as the heat is just too much to do very much at all but I have been reading a lot as even knitting is hard work

I watched some of the football and sadly we are out of the World Cup but its always there for the next time.

I watched some of the tennis, but with the heat I must admit to a good few snoozes as the hot nights as well as the days means loss of sleep so I catch up when I can. I'm actually looking forward to some rain just to freshen the air a bit

Right, time for another cold glass of water, I swear I will be growing fins soon the amount of water I consume
