@Florenceem - it sounds to me as if you are ready to let the wooden bowl go. It has been nearly 8 years since DH passed on and I have gradually got rid of things which were to his taste but not mine. You sort of know when its time. I have not felt guilty afterwards as you have the memories. I will sometimes see something out which he would have liked and the memories bring a small smile and you pass on.
Post office trip done to send package of cards to DD and overseas card. I will need to go to bank to get money for workmen probably tomorrow. A few groceries bought and put away. Trip out this afternoon. Bag of food and treats ready for Sox at cattery from Friday. Tried to log in to NSI and it was demanding security check. Supposed to press hash key after 15 seconds when they rang - I tried 3 times and it wouldn't register my response so gave up.
Clouds are clearing but not pleasant really. Builders working on my paving - think they are waiting for delivery before getting on with next door. I think I'll go through what's left in wardrobe now holiday packing is done.
703 Most of July's cards posted. The others are stamped to post later in week.
704 Three spare desert dishes, which I don't need and have no idea why I kept, in CS bag
705 Bag of cat food and treats ready and labelled for Friday.

Monday is another hot one with almost cloudless blue skies - high of 27°C, low of 15°C & a light ENE breeze 🥵 I have put a load in the wm & have a 2nd load ready to go. DH is currently working on the motorbike fixing the wing mirror which he knocked off with the garage door 😬 I have fallen behind with the cheerleading so will start from posts dated the 11th:
dND, I too used to love the heat & agree completely with This “….I was younger, fitter and lighter 🤣” Aberglasney Gardens looks wonderful especially the shady areas 😂 I do hope you will treat us to a few photos once you get the hang of your compact camera 🙏 Hopefully the forecast for cooler nights is correct 🤞
Excellent& eclectic decluttering greent 👏 Wishing you continuing success on your weight loss journey & good luck with your sales of outsize clothes 🍀
Yorkie1, I have been very remiss this year & barely watched any tennis 😞 I do hope you managed to go out & see your friend in Guy & Dolls 🤞
Lovely to see you Fizz2015 👋 You have been through the mill 😔 So happy that the NHS came through for you & that you had such great support from family, friends & your boss 🥹 Hope you have a lovely relaxing time on holiday ☺️
Lovely post EnergyShifter ☺️ Very impressed that you are still succeeding in the Minimalist game 👏 I am cheering you on 🥳
florianatwobob, great work filling the ziffit box 👏 Good luck with your Vinted listings 🍀 A bit of spending money for your holiday would be nice 😉
Excellent work TC77 with both the decluttering & the tidying & cleaning 👏 Fingers crossed that you managed to get your shopping put away 🤞I had to laugh at the 2nd part of This “Sorted suitcase of old postcards with some binned and stamps removed and some letters to show my mum’s best friend’s children (say children but a good 10-15 years older than me).” 😂
A busy Saturday Florenceem 👏 Very impressed that you did the ‘one In, one Out’ as soon as you got home 🤩 Pleased to hear that you are considering starting some sewing projects ☺️ Another tasty looking dinner 😋
Excellent work Willowtree222 👏 Hopefully there was a little money in the bank account 🤞
I broke off here to hang out the two loads of washing I had done 😊 Everything should dry in no time as the breeze has picked up & is now a wind 🥳 I have exactly 4 pegs left so I really need to treat myself to some new ones 🙊 I know how to live 😉The last of the items that need waterproofing (my motorcycle trousers) now in the wm. DH is still outside doing a last bit of cleaning on the motorbike. I am now starting the cheerleading for posts dated the 12th 🥳
GrannyKate, sounds like you are almost ready for your holiday ☺️ Hopefully you are going somewhere less humid 😉 Thank for the mention of your fridge reminds me I should clean out my fridge as there is a bit of a whiff but no obvious cause ☹️ no ood food 🤔
Lovely cheerleading vulpix 🥹 Please don’t injure yourself by overdoing the digging out 🙏 Very happy to hear that your friend visited resulting in you having a bit of a rest from painting etc 😉
Florenceem, very pleased to hear that the corps sergeant major has given the go ahead for the sale of your gnomes 🥹 It sounds like they are going to be very popular & it might be some time before you can start any sewing projects 😉
Yorkie1, congratulations to your vicar 👏 Sounds like you had a lovely time chatting rather than working 😊 Enjoy the tennis ☺️
Floss, love it ……….. “gnomettes” ☺️
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 your mojo seems to have returned - I think it must have hitched a ride with DD2 & decided to come back at the same time 🤭
EnergyShifter, you are allowed a day off 😉 & bearing in mind you tidied up the shed AND kept up with the Minimalist game I would have to say you had a productive day 👏 I hope you have a wonderful time at the retreat 🥹 & please remember to have some time off from decluttering to do things you enjoy 🙏
Willowtree222, what a lovely activity ☺️
Florenceem, well done on your continuing success in ‘using up freezer contents’ 🥳
vulpix, I admire the way you are always planning ahead ☺️ Hopefully the newly acquired double glazed window will save you some money 🤞Great work sorting out the fridge & freezer 👏 Sorry to hear about MrV’s fall 🥺 Please ask him to be careful 🙏
Brambling, I love your idea for Florenceem’s lady gnomes “bows in beards” 🤩 What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon & early evening 🥹 What a great photo 😊
BlueJ94,very pleased to hear that you have had a relaxing weekend, you deserve it 🥹
Yippee, only today’s posts to catch up on 😉 Wishing everyone a great day whatever the weather & whatever you are doing 😊 Gentle cwtches for all 🤗

@vulpix I do hope Mr V is on the mend. I find that as the temperature goes above 25C judgement starts to go and if I'm even slightly dehydrated it can also affect my balance.
@Florenceem I don't think I've said but I love your gnomes. Having looked at your last post, I think that's what I might be having for supper tonight. 😁
Still not much being done but with a couple of degrees fall in the temperature this morning, (it still hit 32C here yesterday), I did manage to declutter some of the weathershield paint from my stock on to the low retaining wall outside my front window.
The wall isn't too bad in summer but in winter when it's permanently damp it's very drab and depressing especially as it gets practically no sun in winter.
It needs a second coat to fill in the gaps which I'll try to get done tomorrow morning before the sun gets to it. It's a bit bright but I like the mediterranean feel it gives with the geraniums.
Apart from a quick trip to Mr L's - aircon was good 😁 - that's about it for today. I might venture out when it's cooler this evening and do some deadheading. I really don't survive well in this heat.
Hugs to those to want them and love to you all. Dxx

Finally took the Ziffit box to the lockers for collection today - too warm yesterday afternoon for the walk to the lockers.
Ah, the Vinted and Ziffit money is all earmarked for going towards the loft Mrs SD. The sales are never going to cover the cost but it all helps clear the house and cover some initial costs.✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅)

thinking of getting a new email address and then leaving others in situ and then in 18 months can delete almost everything, still have over 7700 emails on one account down from just under 8000 and similar for another and taking so long as I have to check if relevant as didn't used folders when I should have!

Hope you enjoyed your retreat @EnergyShifter
Also hope that Mr V is recovering from his fall @vulpix . I agree that the heat and dehydration can make us more clumsy.
Loved the finals of the tennis and the show with my friend. It was high energy and confidence. Very good! I did go back to water the allotment and greenhouse later in the evening.
It's back to BBC2's Quizzy Mondays this evening hurrah. Mum and I both watch the programmes.
Next Monday evening will be my final online exercise class. We've been together since the pandemic, with gradually reducing sessions per week and numbers. The instructor (who lives near London) has become a qualified teacher, now head of year, and just bought her first house with her partner. Her life and out-of-work exercise focus has moved on, so it will be a bittersweet time next week. I may have to investigate something else online, but the motivation to do it is much harder to locate if there isn't an actual time and date to turn up to. I'm not keen on travelling to a gym for the purpose. But must find something to keep a bit of healthiness!
Better go and choose what to have for tea, I suppose. Didn't really have lunch so I shall declutter a plaice fillet from the freezer.

Busy busy day today.
2 lines of washing washed, out on lines, dried, in and folded.
2nd coat of gloss on a door frame I missed.
New border up in bathroom
New pictures up in bathroom.
New pump containers for liquid stuffs filled and in bathroom. The body wash one took 2 and a half bottle of Body Shop body wash. All old containers in recycling, 7 in total.
Old cream toothmugs, trays and soap dish in dishwasher so I can sell them. New green ones in situ. Bathroom completed! And I love it. That’s one big job done and finished. Just waiting on new emulsion now. I’m itching to get finished so I can put the house back in some sort of order. Then I can thoroughly wash my carpets.
Sprayed all the weeds growing between the paving slabs with vinegar. I need to get them filled as they aren’t small gaps and looks really bad when it’s full of weeds.Decluttered the little brown unit that lives in the hall. Found about 6 pairs of DHs motorbike sunglasses, now in my selling pile. Got all the fixings corralled into one container. 2 cardboard boxes into recycling. Found a stash of fabric masks- I have no idea from whence they came, they are in the pile for the boil wash. Other loose face masks and gloves binned.
DH dinner freezer & fridge, mine fridge & pantry shelves.Did some ironing. Everyone is doing so well to carry on with this heat, I take my hat off to you. Your lunch out sounds lovely @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Now shattered😁 We’ve had a wind today but it was like a hairdryer, no coolness to it at all, still we’re getting closer to when it should cool down.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
