Good morning all and I hope you are all surviving the heat. I'm finding it really difficult as I don't think I've fully recovered from the last bout of heat. As a result, very little is being done apart from naps when I start to keel over from the lack of good overnight sleep. I really don't know how I previously managed to work in temperatures such as these; I guess I was younger, fitter and lighter. 🤣
As I mentioned previously I went to Aberglasney gardens on Monday with DS2 and DDiL2. The ticket gives you a return entry in the next 7 days so I took myself up there yesterday to start practicing with the compact camera I bought a while ago. I really need to get to grips with it as it's capable of better macro photography than my phone and I often photograph bugs and flowers.
As well as the sunlit areas there were lots of wooded and shady areas and I was able to do another walk around the gardens and get home before 12:30. I think I was first through the gates other than staff and volunteers. 😁
I've no plans for today: I've tied in the tomatoes before the sun came round at 9:30 and that's me done outside until much later this evening. The coolest room in the house is already at 25+C and upstairs is much hotter and I stop thinking straight above 25C, so heat management mode is on.
@Liverpool_Anne Did you manage to sort out the spellcheck on MSE? If not, for me it was because when Chrome updates it disrupts the spellcheck. You have to go into Chrome settings/languages and switch it back on in there or if it's showing as on, toggle between the basic and enhanced settings to make it remember what it should be doing - maybe that's what I need to do with me as well. 🤣
Take care in the heat everyone; nothing is more important to do than guard your own lives. Only a few more days and then hopefully at least the nights will be cool enough to let our bodies return to optimal settings.
Hugs to all that want and love to you all. Dxx

Beautiful quilt, @mehefin!
I sell stuff on V1nted because I've lost 5stone in the last 17 months and have therefore been changing sizes and needing to buy new (to me) clothes and funded this partly through selling too-big clothes - even at £1/ item it is still worth my time if I'm posting several items at the same time. I still donate a reasonable amount to our local CS, particularly kids and household stuff.
Not masses achieved in terms of numbers yesterday, but lots of paperwork gone:
Declutter 2026⭐️892 - pile of paperwork filed
893 - pile of paperwork shredded (large pile)
894 - pile of paperwork recycled
895 - broken glass to glass recycling box
896 - roll of sticky tape UU (am counting because we must have 20+ rolls, so therefore they contribute to the clutter!!)
897 - 899 - cake boxes sold
900 - top sold
901 - 905 - 1 box, 2 packs of insulated wool packaging and 2 parcel bags used on sales
906 - 1 broken clothes peg to bin
907 - large amount of bush cut down and put in garden waste bin (we have several large bushes needing to go to make way for larger driveway and I'm trying to get a lot into the garden waste collection, rather than paying more for a larger skip when the time comes - we pay £60 pa for fortnightly collections of the garden waste Feb - Nov, so I need to make use of it!)
ETA for today:
908 - pile of paperwork from DS1's room recycled
909 - 912 - 4 takeaway tubs and lids from DS1's room recycled or binned (depending if they were kind of rescuable!)
913 - more paperwork shredded/ recycled/ filed (small pile, so counting as one)
Digital declutter 20026 (achieved 2/4/26) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️28776 - 28900 - around 130+ work emails deleted/ filed - just counting enough to make the number a round figure :D
Today: 28901 - 29100 - more than 200 photos deleted from my phone
(includes 31/26 unsubscribing target)
Declutter 26lb ⭐️⭐️18/26
A little bit more paperwork to sort today and some ironing, but no real decluttering as such - more cleaning and tidying to be done instead today (alongside reading my new book (from my to be read pile))
ETA - mostly spent reading… too hot to clean!

Well to everyone for appointments, gardening, decluttering and existing in this heat.
Mum is very fed up with it now; there's been a nicer breeze today here up north. I was in the allotment shop this afternoon - not even the Englishmen were out in the midday sun!
I watched one of the sets of the Wimbledon Mixed Invitational Doubles on iPlayer - it involved Mansour Bahrami, who is highly entertaining. It passed the time until my phone gave me a data warning haha.
Now at home and watching the ladies' final. The second set has livened up.
I've had a couple of stupidly late nights (early mornings) recently, with going down rabbitholes for the family history online.
I've had tea and should be going out to the theatre this evening to watch Guys and Dolls, which a friend is in. I'll see how I feel in about half an hour.

Hello All, 👋 Hope everyone is surviving in the heat. I haven't posted in a while due to health issues, something was picked up on a scan by complete accident thankfully as totally non related to the original reason for the scan. Fast tracked through investigations followed by surgery and results. Very grateful that it is low risk and low-grade and treated for now. Will require regular monitoring. Very appreciate of the NHS and how quickly I was treated. Not sure how I have survived some days but with children and a full time job you just have too. Family and friends were my rock throughout and my boss was very supportive.
I have sold a fair bit on vinted and we have done a carboot. I have a list somewhere with no's on.
Off on holiday in less than a week to replace one that we were unable to go on and cannot wait for some chill time. Can come back with a redetermined focus on decluttering.
Have a good evening All.

Oh my goodness Fizz - that sounds tough. So pleased that you didn't have to wait too long for treatment. Sending good wishes for a full & swift recovery 🙏💕
Completed day 11 of the "Minimalist Game" ( 66 items so far this month). While DS is away I managed to get into the office - which was mine, is technically shared now - but in reality is occupied by DS. Went through my stationery supplies- I looked at them with fresh eyes today and it felt easy to get rid of things which had previously got continued reprieves. I came across a bag with 70 plectrums in it which I'd used as markers for a coaching technique I used to do - heavens knows why I felt I needed quite so many. Kept 10 and the rest will be donated.
My day has consisted mostly of alternating between dozing in the shade and decluttering. I'm ready for an early night - it's reasonably cool here. I hope everyone sleeps well 💤

Found enough to finalise a box for Ziffit. Will take that to the drop off lockers tomorrow morning when it’s cool.
Also had a rummage through the cupboard over the stairs and found some bits that can go. Also repacked that so the suitcases are easier to reach for later this month.
Found a few bits that I might actually try on Vinted as they’re proper vintage 1920s bags.
Some back garden jobs are due to be tackled tomorrow. Again, in the morning when it’s cooler.

@Fizz good to see you back, so glad you had good experience with the NHS and so sorry you've had such a tough time. I hope you have a good well needed holiday x
Another hot day not doing much
Sorted suitcase of old postcards with some binned and stamps removed and some letters to show my mum's best friends children (.say children but a good 10-15 years older than me).
Large platter, necklace, map, and another item ( forgotten) in cs bag, paper delutter out, important email out. Spent an hour trying to out sewing machine together after the needle came out and then other bits went wrong..still not sorted but only have the hem of one of the pj trouser legs to finish.
Tidied and cleaned the kitchen and moved things out that belong elsewhere and some not in my house..it then looked ok but I'd forgotten i had a supermarket delivery and of course over ordered!1102.
Tomorrow A new and hopefully cooler day 😎

Garage sale was only 2 stalls - I did get a Nex. roll neck jumper for £2 - I got rid of an old one when I got home. We popped down to the charity shop - I picked up a ball of sparkly yarn - bestie said - you are not paying for that - you donated it!
I did get a lovely canvas which will go on a wall in the hall. I also got a small watercolour.
My middle daughter called by with my shopping - she saw the new carpets. I got her to help me carry the console table into the hall. Daughter suggested getting a lamp to stand on the console table - I have put Mil's jug there as the colours go well.
I had a clean up in the lounge after the carpet fitter.
Did some knitting - I have another gnome ready to sew together.
I turn my new sewing machine on each day and run it for a while. I am starting to feel like sewing but have the new ROD to clear.
Dinner was on my challenge - battered fish fingers, chips & peas.

Saturday has been a bright sunny day with clear blue skies - high of 30°C, low of 18°C There was no cloud cover at all just the sun beating down but there was an occasional ENE wind which was very pleasant ☺️ None of us did anything much today 😉 Salad for dinner. Wudupa

1123 Kitchen detritus binned

Sorry about the health Fizz, but sounds like you have had the best treatment.
Another bank account closed that I never use. I forgot about it until I got an email.
Lots of using up decluttering, it is creating space.
