Too hot to do much other than my washing. My sister came up at 8pm and we cleared the patio ready for the window guys and builders next week, my old wooden patio table was final broken down to my car size so I must book that tip run.
One pair of barely worn trousers (went off the colour) given to my sister and she helped herself to a couple of books

I knew it, about 10 minutes ago my dog was barking to let me know he was too hot so we're downstairs cooling down 😴😴

Thursday continued: the temperature peaked at 34°C 🥵 There has barely been a breeze for the entire day - so close that it has been difficult to breathe 😞 & far too difficult to concentrate on anything 😞 I washed & waterproofed my motorcycle jacket but it is drying indoors as am supposed to avoid drying in direct sunlight. We did have salad followed by a Solero each. Wudupa.

dND, how wonderful that you got to spend time with DS2 & DDiL2 🥹 Sounds like you had a great time ☺️ Hopefully it won’t be another 10 years 🤞Providing a salad of hg produce shows just how much work you have done 😊 Good luck eating down the contents of the freezer so that you can restock with hg produce 🍀 Very impressive plants in the greenhouse & the raised beds 🤩
Florenceem, a Happy Birthday to your Bestie’s daughter 🥳 🎂 🎉 Fingers crossed that you get permission to sell the gnomes to raise money for the SA 🤞 Seth is quite muted in his colours 😊
Brie, my DH had one of those 24hr BP monitors& they really are annoying ☹️
GrannyKate, I wonder what happened to customer service 😔 It is not an exaggeration to say that I ‘hate’ self service tills 😡 To me it is just an excuse to get rid of staff & even more annoying is that the very few times I have been forced to use them I have had to wait for a beleaguered member of staff to sort out a problem 😿
BlueJ94, fingers crossed that you get a few hours sleep before you are woken by a dog 🤞
EnergyShifter, great up-cycling 👏 Family therapy sounds quite draining 🥺 Well done on resisting the temptation to buy the garden seat cushions 🥳
Brambling well done on the decluttering to your sister 👏
BlueJ94, hope that you can manage a few hours sleep once you have cooled down 🤞
Sleep tight everyone 😴

Hi all, back from my friends yesterday and took a load of washing to the bag wash, mainly towels that are still in the line because I forgot to get them in 😂. Also did a quick trip to the sm but I will need to go again today for some fresh salad stuff. Only decluttered a magazine and the lr bin 😂
I did have a nice time with my friend's son. On Tuesday we pottered in the garden, chatted a lot and watched the footy. He made me a lovely stir fry for tea 😁 . On Wednesday we went for a walk up Rivington and had lunch in one of the cafes up there. The cafe helps to support local makers by selling their wares but I only bought a few cards to replenish my card stock box. There were lots of nice things like earrings and carved bits of wood that I really liked but I resisted on the basis that my house is not in any state to receive new decorations yet but I can go back another time if I decided I really want something..
Yesterday I also had to sort out OH's email account as OH has got a new phone and had forgotten the password so I had to reset it on the laptop. I also had a lovely couple of hours having coffee over the fence with ln. It was sunny but we had a nice breeze and I made sure to sit under the brolley in the shade.
First job today is sorting out my car insurance. I have had an email from mse with a low quite but I need to check the excess amounts to see if it is comparable to my existing insurers quote.
@dND very impressed with your garden and I love all the produce you are getting from it 😁
@vulpix glad the hospital appointment went so well. I know you are not keen on the idea but just think how much easier life will be when you are pain free. Well done for being brave and big hugs
Right time for another cuppa and to get my brain in gear to tackle the car insurance 😂. Hugs to everyone who would like one
1001/2026, finally made it to 4 figures 😂
Take care everyone

Morning all.
I ate from stock again yesterday.
I have carpet fitters coming to lay carpet in the lounge today. I need to listen out for courier who is collecting the left behind by sewing machine chap - invoice book.
I won't be able to do anything on the airing cupboard until after the carpet job is done as I would be in the way on the landing.
I had a really bad night with pain - first for a while.

Too hot to get too much done yesterday, but I did finish a great book whilst sitting around in front of a fan :) I also listed some things on V1nted and shoved a pile of things into the CS bag (now overflowing - I really must take it there next week) and did some ironing.
Mrs S-D - thanks for my gold star! - I've added it below :)

Woe is me- I've fallen of the decluttering wagon in a massive way…. however there is a very good reason!
Those of you with long memories will know I sadly decluttered Mrs M BUT I have a new lady in my life and she has decamped to mine - bringing an awful lot of 'stuff'!! So currently we are in the process of absorbing, sorting and disposing of all sorts of things. It doesn't help that she is a master quilter and I have had to find room for all that goes with it- currently 30+ bolts of cloth in the front room, and about another 100 to come!!! Plus her cutting machine, sewing machine etc etc. The upside is she made an absolutely beautiful quilt for my DS and DIL when the got married in June. Picture shows BEFORE it was finished!
We also purchased at auction this week a chaise longue, matching ladies' and gentleman's chair plus 6 balloon back chairs which are currently residing in the barn!! They will be reupholstered and the balloons sold on at some point.

Mehefin, lovely to ‘see’ you - it’s great to hear you have a new lady in your life.
energy shifter and siebrie - lovely to ‘see’ you both too and I am sorry to hear of the challenges life has thrown you. siebrie, fingers crossed you can get a good and swift divorce settlement so you and dds can continue building a great life together.
Lots of admin and tidying up done this week. One old fleece only fit for bin has gone out declutteringwise plus one top to CS. Hoping to clear lots of old papers this weekend as I know they are not serving me and I don’t want to move with them. Home sale going through but haven’t yet found something long term for me. Don’t want to feel rushed into getting the wrong place so hoping something suitable comes up soon.

Mehifin, congratulations on your new lady and congratulations that she is a quilter. Fabulous work on your son's wedding quilt.
Liverpool Anne, thank you for saying I was brave.😂 I do actually feel like I have been very brave… for me. I find asking for help very difficult and I had to go and lie down last night as I had headache from the heat and angst of the day!
Energy shifter, you are another who was brave yesterday. I hope it will all make good in the end. Well done for resisting rewarding yourself with things you don't need.
I rewarded myself for my hard day by buying 2 mattresses for the bunk beds in a one day sale. 😂It's quite hard to find a bed without memory foam these days. I just can't get on with memory foam. The mattresses are made to order so I have a few weeks to find a home for the trundle bed and paint the bunk beds. I also rewarded us with fresh raspberries and cream a like. Not the best start to the weight loss the consultant wants.
I am going with Mr V to Nottingham today. The car is cool and I need to return some clothes that I stress bought last week.
Hopefully this is the worst day of the heat
Vx
