Good Evening, I've had a decently productive day - I managed to get up early while it was still cool and made a start with painting the fireplace. Every time I had a gap between clients I did a little bit more - and because of the weather everything dried quickly so now its all done. I'm really pleased with it. I definitely need to repaint the floor now though…. (there's always something !!!)
I also completed day 8 of the Minimalist game - so 36 items gone so far this month. I notice I'm getting rid of things that I have been almost getting rid of but then putting back. They are only small items but it feels good to see them go.Sending love to all 💕

oh I’m tired today. No painting done as had the kitchen man in to assess it. The HA are, hopefully, replacing everything and renewing electrics and plumbing too. So a new kitchen is on the cards we hope. This HA are very good I must say.
New AC units delivered today. Thank Heavens for the stairlift as there is no way I could have got it upstairs otherwise. Got it all set up for DH and he was very happy until we had a power cut this afternoon/evening. The whole village was out for about 2 hours but it was unbearably hot during that 2 hours.
Nothing happening tomorrow so should be able to get a good chunk of emulsioning done. Having the house in uproar is getting on both our nerves. I want to put all the furniture and things back so I need to get a wiggle on.
Dinner was all fridge and delicious.
Have a good night all. Sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

My decluttering roll continued today dd2 brought down about 15 or more items of clothing, some for cs bag, some for donation hub amd some for recycling, I added clothes to donation hub bag with some empty jars they ask for and already counted chargers etc. Added a further 6 pillowcases and 3 sheets. Also out some receipts and digital declutter.
Scaffolding going up to paint back of the house tomorrow with a pole to go in neighbour's garden. I dread work being done as always something goes wrong!

When i was painting our windows last year (still not finished) i noticed a very rotten window on our second floor. Its only accessible from the inside because its in the sloping bit of the roof. The carpenter came to look in September 2025 and finally came to do the work yesterday. To be fair to him its a pig of a job. We also needed a couple of drip strips replaced on the second and first floor. He has taken the window away to rebuild and prepared the drip strips. He left me homework to prepare and paint all the damaged areas and the new drip strips. So two coats of preservative/primer, two coats of undercoat (I am still sure dulux is selling cottage cheese as undercoat) and one top coat in just over 24 hours. I needed to get it done early enough for 16 hours drying time. It involved me hanging out of the upstairs windows in the boiling weather trying to cut in with my left hand. It’s always the left hand.
The lovely carpenter texted to check I had completed my homework. 😀 He is coming back tomorrow to refit the window.19 -
Decluttered large amount of money on new glasses and sun glasses 🫣 (my eyes are too bad to buy cheap online ones) which I went into town to collect late morning, they are slipping down my nose!
Started dealing with a frog for elderly friend yesterday which rolled into today. Our local authority dealing with elderly care and finances are known to be inefficient and longwinded. I had to be forceful with virtual assistance who wanted to try and help first it took me saying three times that I wanted a human, both ladies I've spoken to have been very nice but can't work out what has gone wrong 😡

I don't know how you are all getting jobs done in the heat, bloomin hats off to you.
Very nice fire surround, something a little more unusual EnergyShifter.
I waited till 6pm and the sun had moved off before I went into the garden. Managed very little which is frustrating. Had to pack it in after an hour and a half as it was still 28`. The ground is so hard I bent my quality hand fork.I will chip away at it a little every night till it's done. We haven't cut up and bagged up any more of the lilac forest, Mr V has twinged his back.
I was wondering how you were DND, and how you were getting on with your garden and renovation.
TC, I know what you mean about having work done. We are having a new bathroom next month. I haven't used this guy before so I hope it turns out how I would like it to be.
In my tidy round today out went 2 plastic storage boxes- recycled. A wooden trug thing given to our cleaner. A cracked plastic water bottle recycled.Clothes identified to go but I am waiting to find the belt which goes with the worn once trousers. Never worn the belt and have put it in a safe place.😂
Thank you for your good wishes at the clinic tomorrow. I am the worlds worst patient. I imagine I have put this off for at least 5 years.I have already started to bite my nails.

Wednesday is another scorcher with not a cloud in the sky 🥵 The forecast is for a high of 32°C, low 20°C with a gentle N wind making it feel 3° warmer than the actual temperature 🥵🥵 The HH waste wheelie bin was emptied this morning so I asked DH to wash & sanitise it before I added a bin liner. DH duly obliged 👏 & then decided to sort out both the HH waste & recycling wheelie bins from the rental house next door (still no occupants), so I am awarding him a medal 🏅DH is now being a busy bee outside doing various smallish repairs, cleaning & maintenance on the GoldWing 😊 He completed everything as he was outside for about 5 hours - kept fully hydrated & coming in occasionally for a rest. Meanwhile I have been working indoors. I had emptied the sideboard (from France) which I use for the TV/Sky box & DVD/VHS & so far have only returned items that should be in the drawers & cupboard section. I have a stack of cables & plugs which I will go through with DH - with most probably going to the Tip. I have also gone through my storage footstool - I have been quite brutal & managed to bin/recycle/shred paperwork & various bits of “what on earth is that doing in here” Also completely reorganised what was left & now have plenty of space to tidy away items that I usually leave sitting on the sofa 😊 I also rejigged & updated my birthday card list including posting dates. I will start writing birthday cards for August to end of October, but still need to buy November & December cards. Dinner - DSis had a ready made tuna bake whilst DH & I had chipolata sandwiches.

vulpix, now that is what I call a good night’s sleep 😊 you obviously needed it. Green_hopeful, very impressed that you have completed your homework from the carpenter 👏 a medal 🏅 is on its way 😊
Brambling, I have the same problem - my eyesight is too bad to get the cheap offers advertised on TV 😞 Good luck sorting out the frog for your elderly friend 🍀 but sorry to hear that you are having to ‘fight’ to speak to a human ☹️
vulpix, I will keep my fingers crossed that you get some rain to soften the ground 🤞 Good luck at your appointment tomorrow 🍀 be brave 🥹
