Thursday is another hot day with a forecast high of 28°C in the Borders but getting hotter the further south we come. DH made coffees & then we spent some time out on the patio chatting to our hosts & enjoying the birdsong from at least half a dozen types of bird. I made DH a bacon sarnie & after packing our bag we eventually set off at 11:50 - clear blue skies & brilliant sunshine. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay 🥹 We got the last 2 landmarks either side of The Union Chain Bridge - so one in Scotland & one in England & then headed off down the A1 with the temperature rising to 32°C We stopped at a services 14:15 for coffee & cake + I had a cheese & tomato toastie. Despite travelling at a good speed, the breeze was not enough to overcome the sun beating down on us & having no shade. We arrived at our hotel in Boroughbridge at 15:45 & were in our room, motorbiking gear off, fan on & enjoying a bottle of water all within 10 minutes 😉 An hour later we are feeling almost human although the temperature is still 28°C & the fan is working overtime 😉
BlueJ94, hopefully you will get a chance to catch up on some sleep today🤞
Florenceem, a cool breeze is always welcome ☺️ The colour of the stair carpet sounds lovely 😊
You might be struggling with the heat QueenJess but you are still managing some excellent decluttering 👏
Now making a move to have a shower, get changed & move to a cooler part of the hotel (our room is still rather warm despite the fan) See you later 👋

regnbue, Happy birthday, beautiful flowers.
Bon voyage brie, have a lovely time.
Large bag of soft plastics recycled.
Proper fed up of the heat now. Don't envy you both on the bike Mrs SD.
A VERY busy day for us tomorrow. Got to be out the house 8:30 till 4 to have a treatment to the floors. Beds need to be made up as lots of overnight guests this weekend. Camp beds in the living room and dining room too. All bedding washed today in readiness. It all just seems so extra in this heat.
Not given a single thought as to what to feed all these people. 3 vegan, a veggie and 3 carnivores. salads are the answer! Can't contemplate putting the stove on.

Thursday continued: we both felt a lot better after a shower 😊 Went down to dinner at 19:00. DH had a starter of pork belly followed by loin of lamb with pulled lamb, puréed peas & boulangère potatoes (his favourite main course of our holiday 😋) & also had a dessert of chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream & honeycomb + a couple of beers & an espresso. I had an enormous plate of Caesar salad with chicken & a taste of DH’s dessert 😋 + a couple of pints of Guinness. We spent some time outdoors as there was a lovely breeze & were back in our room by 21:45. It is a very warm room so the fan has had to be put on. I watched the Group E matches with one surprise result 😉
vulpix, fingers crossed you get a storm that clears & freshens the air 🤞 It is not at all comfortable on the bike when it is so hot 🥵 Hope the weekend goes well 🤞 as it sounds like you have a full house 😥 Salads are definitely the way to go & lots of cold drinks & ice lollies 😉
TC77, well done on the unsubscribing & digital decluttering 👏 I think your mojo is hiding from the heat & is probably in the freezer 😉
Hoping that everyone is finding ways to stay cool & keep hydrated 🙏 Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, couple of slow days decluttering wise. Wednesday met my friend and her son for afternoon coffee. Luckily the place had air con so could cool down after the hour drive to get there but the heat hit as soon as we stepped outside again 😁.
Yesterday the only thing I managed was a trip to the bag wash so 2 LDFPA. I dried everthing on the line in about an hour 😁 but I did get a bit overheated and had to seek the shade in the house with a cold flannel on my neck but we got up to 33° so not really surprising. The bedroom recycling was emptied and that was it, just lounging on the sofa with the fan on watching the footy 😂.
It started raining here 5 minutes ago but it is still 23° but I am hoping it is a bit cooler today as I am chauffeuring OH to pick up the car at about 10.30. I have had a very bad night sleep due to the hear so will probably have to have a nap when I get home😂.
Off to get a cold drink now, hugs to anybody who would like one
Adding only 3 so now 916/2026
Take care everyone

Apologies for being awol again.
A few books have crept in, 2 pairs of pyjamas, new pants and socks, several plants, but have have managed to declutter 2 pairs of pyjamas, several board games, a pack of playing cards, a 2 pack of knee supports, several pairs of socks, a pair of shoes and a few other various bits I can't remember
The plants have been planted out and the flower bed extended.
I've also had to pull up the flowers I'd down f seed this week as they had flopped onto the lawn, plus were causing some sort of powdery problem where I'd well and truly over seeded and also couldn't weed.
I have left 2 sunflowers though and am hoping that the bulbs have time grow, although I'm not hopeful. A lesson learned though and will be more careful when putting down seeds in the border.

Morning all.
Having a day indoors at least until hopefully it is cooler this evening. I have a package which didn't arrive yesterday to collect at Asd.
I have 3 jobs for my J when he is here today - move the furniture and assemble a hall stand so I don't put coats on the cloakroom door anymore. Also I can't open the rinse aid bit in the dishwasher to fill it.
I did some knitting yesterday evening.
Decluttered - polo shirt, paper, carrier bag, yarn bands, holdall. tee shirt, blouse x 2, tie, fabrics, cushion insert cover, 2 bags of yarn, top, pouch, long sleeve top, birthday card/envelope, bag of stuffing, bookmark, 2 cloth shopping bags, bag of trims, color box set, paper folder, plastic lid, box of brads x 4, 4 stencils, bag of polymer stamps, 4 wooden mounted rubber stamps and 10 glitter pens.,

I have been missing again, but I have managed to catch up with what everyone has been upto.
Not really done much, i have been at work for 3 days which has been hard, as the care home is on 2 floors and the 2nd floor is a lot hot and need to make sure everyone has plenty of drinks, and on one day we did ice-cream which went down well.
Sells have slowed down the lost week, still have to upload more so will do that over the weekend.
DS has been at school all week and I was expecting a message to collect him early yesterday but it didn't happen, they have an inset day today so we are going to cinema, think the het has effected him as he isn't himself today so having a bit of a chill morning, just think he is tired as he has been sleeping with me and it has taken a while for him to settle down, DH has been sleeping downstairs as it is cooler.
Take care everyone

Friday, I appear to have slept very well despite the heat & the noise of the fan & only remember one bathroom visit at 02:00 😊 Woken at 08:00 by the sound of thunder & the downpour of rain which made it feel a little fresher. Apparently the storm started at 06:00 & was over just before we went down to breakfast at 08:40. My last full breakfast until we go to either Cornwall or Yorkshire on another RBR trip 😉 Finished breakfast by 09:20 & went back to our room to finish the packing. Currently resting & will be setting off shortly. I hope everyone has a good day & stays safe in the heat 🤞See you later 👋
