Well, it’s that day again. Paid all the bills today including the water bill so Decluttered a chunk of money ouchy ouchy ouch ouch! But that’s it done for the month.

Spent the rest of the day photographing and listing on eBay. Going to add some of those items to Vinted too - never hurts to list on more than one site me thinks.

Decluttered a few little bits and some packaging to wrap last nights sale. That was posted today.

As I was having a busy, my DH made sausage and tomato rolls for dinner for us both so more out of the freezer.

In case anyone is interested, Iceland have a 10 for £10 offer and one of the items is Velvet brand loo rolls. Wasn’t sure because of the price but they are actually quite thick and pretty good for £1.

well done @Mrs_Salad_Dodger and certainly you are due a gold 🥇medal! Wear it with pride!

What a beautiful cat and kittens 🥰 I have said when anything happens to my grumpy 14year old cat I may try and foster although I fear I would be a foster fail!

Whilst the grumpy one was outside this morning I ventured into the under the bed storage, one blouse ended in the textile tip bag and the following joined the CS pile -

3 pairs of trousers
2 blouses
3 cotton jumpers/cardis
2 heavier cardis
4 Tee shirts
1 dress
2 sweatshirts

5 items are on the to try on pile but will probably go to the CS as well. I think most of what is there can go but I realised now isn't the time to add more bags of stuff to up stairs until downstairs is finished and there's more some space.

I moved the bed out (ashamed to say no idea when I last did it) hoovered where it was and collected all the tissues gathered behind the headboard. Rotated the mattress which is always a challenge on my own

The plasterer finished today so it's just the decorators next week.

The cat declutterred a beautiful fluffy ginger cat from the garden this afternoon, never seen it before but it ran for the back gate as soon as mine threatened him through the French doors, luckily by the time he got out the cat flap it had gone, mine then sat on the gate swearing loudly for a while which annoyed next doors frenchie. We are currently fighting over the one chair in my lounge which with the TV is the only thing in here.

Sometimes I think the year has flown by as so much has happened in my family. Friday will be my first birthday without Mr F. My dil has asked what I want as a birthday meal. The feather cushion inserts have not arrived.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Wednesday is an overcast day with a high of 20°C, low of 11°C & a WNW making it feel 1° cooler - autumn is definitely here 😊 HH waste wheelie bin emptied this morning. DH did his penultimate RBR run to West Sussex leaving at 11:15 & getting back at 15:15. I vacuumed downstairs.Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Wudupa

Good morning all, it's time to check in again, (you're all definitely my rehab group 🤣).

Time is what's seems to be decluttering at an amazing rate here. The house is still awaiting works - more on that later - but the garden has more than compensated!

Firstly, @daisy_1571 what adorable pictures and such care and good work you've done. 🌟Commiserations too; I will be bereft when my Jewel dies even though I'm sure Gino will do his best to console me.

The garden has continued providing. I'm truly amazed by what I've got out of relatively small spaces and am trying to remember the lessons learned from the heat this summer. The deep beds, which I lined with plastic, retained moisture far better than I imagined and because of the small areas, 100 * 120 cm, plants were crowded in. That reduced bare soil, so reduced moisture loss. Watering was minimal - a legacy from France where I only had a well and if that dried up I would have been without any water. Pumpkin and courgette took priority if there was any water going spare. The garlic and the dwarf French beans have been my star performers this year and the tomatoes have been the tastiest ever. I've decluttered an awful lot of money on getting it set up and I'll probably never break even on the amount of food I get back from it, but if I off set the enjoyment I get from it then I'm probably already making a profit. 😁

I'm slowly winding down the veg patch and getting ready to plant the garlic to overwinter but my feet cannot be put up yet. The back hedge calls yet again. 😱
I spent Tuesday, (no rain), cutting out more long branches and brambles.

While it doesn't look much of a change, this is the before and after of 4+ hours of cutting and then chopping up the branches. I was working on the left-hand corner where the overhang was about 4 ft. I didn't photograph that specifically as when I started I had no idea which bit I would work on first, I just got stuck in and saw where it took me. 🤣

Yesterday I went out again and spent a total of 6 hours chopping up the rest of the branches and doing a quick trim of the 2 little bits of hedge in the front garden. The result was all 7 garden waste bags filled and now awaiting collection on Friday. 😁

As you can see from the pictures of the back hedge, this is going to be an ongoing project for a very long time; I wish I had the strength and energy of my youth. 🤣

House works!
I had a phone call on Monday and apparently I've reached the design stage. I do wonder if it has anything to do with me doing a bit of cage rattling the other week or if it is truly a coincidence. The lady was very apologetic but the cost of my windows breaks the spending cap. 😪 However, they are not doing the most expensive window but will do the rest. I'm still happy with that compromise as there's no way I could afford to do the whole house but will find the money to do the last one. I'm so looking forward to decluttering this frog/worry but of course I am now starting to fret about cat wrangling and moving stuff around for them to do the work as at the moment I have something akin to a House of Doom! 😱😱

It's been a long year, I started this process back in February and have been in limbo ever since, piling everything up to give access for measurements/access, so I'm only just beginning to dream of getting the junk sorted and out the door. On the plus side, it means I got on with a lot of the garden though. 😁😁

Enough of my ramblings and sorry for the long post! Well done everyone on what you've all be getting out the door, as ever, you all impress me.

A quieter day today so I have managed the follow up tadpoles from yesterday's committee before they could become frogs. I need to write a list of things I must do over the weekend. The DGCs will see their mum over the weekend after 10 days with us - they are looking forward to telling her about new school classes. DS2 goes to Rome tomorrow for long weekend. DD is hoping they will be ok for their flight home from Barbados on Saturday night. I have moved a few bits round in the lounge as the new desk chair got in the way of the door. I need to wait until hall is done (next week I hope) before I really start on the lounge. I plan to do some garden jobs and to empty swimming pool. It will go to the tip as it is falling apart. It has been worth every penny I paid these last 3 summers. I will keep the pump and accessories as I may get another one depending on how the garden goes over the next 6 months.

877-880 Tadpoles/frogs sorted including minutes, post meeting follow up jobs etc

881 Bag of plastics dropped off at SM

882 E mails cleared out 'bin' had accumulated almost 400 in the one week since I last emptied it. I need to do more serious unsubscribing.

Fridge needs a clear out but I will wait until DGCs have left tomorrow.

I haven't done the ironing yet. When they got back from taking F to his day centre - we went into Retford.

I had some giddy spells before I went out and said if I felt unwell - I would stay in the car. I was okay when we arrived in Retford.

The ice cream van wasn't at the market. I got 3 metres of linen fabric - I am going to use it for the backs of cushions I will make for my lounge. I have some lovely fabric from a shop in Greenwich in my stash. So I will be taking fabric into the house but it has a purpose.

Granddad R was sitting on a bench with me while son and dil went to some shops. I saw an offer on a board outside an EE shop - I have them for broadband paying £40 month. I went in just to enquire and ended up getting TV and broadband + netflix for £42.99 month. Now I need to get a TV licence.

Bonus - spending time at the EE shop meant the ice cream van was at the market square.

When we got back to the house - the cushion inserts had arrived.

The leaves that had accumulated on the doorstep have been decluttered to the bin ready for pickup tomorrow morning. Had to be done as too many of them were beginning to make their way indoors and I know what a mess they make of the hoover.

Cracking day here. Sold lots - one within 10 minutes of listing it and no postage as he’s collecting in the morning. Lots of packing and wrapping done but will all be out the house tomorrow, woo hoo!

Started putting things on the shelves in DHs room, like with like and things corralled together. Cant believe how much floor space he has there now.

I put the two totes of spare clothes in the landing cupboard, tidy and out the way but easy to access.
Cleared all around the wardrobe as that’s going to be broken apart tomorrow. Got to get it down and out to the yard where we are collecting everything for a licensed waste man to collect. We have no means of going to the tip.
Hoping that I can then get the floor cleaned up so I can build the much smaller open unit going there.

DH made us fantastic bacon double cheeseburgers for dinner so more out the freezer.

Thought it was going to rain as it’s been very overcast today, nice and cool too.

Will also be decluttering a big chunk of money tomorrow as we’ve had to have different wheels and solid tyres fitted to DHs scooter. Still, it will last him a good few years yet so it’s got to be done.
