Hi all, another scorchio day here, no rain but it did cloud over about 4 with a pleasant breeze when ln and I were having coffee over the fence 😁. More work on the union thing and 2 cardboard boxes from the conservatory emptied and recycled. They were full of plastic bags for goodness sake 😂. The bags have been sorted into size so I know which bin they can be used in which will save me money not having to buy bin liners and at least they will be decluttered at some point. Several had holes in them so they were binned. I decluttered some rhubarb into a crumble and it has been shared out between ln, OH and myself so all gone sorry 😂.
I also found 3 wooden bowls from my wood turning days that have been dusted off and will be polished when I can find the tin of polish 😂. A very old newspaper recycled and 5 plant pots put in the bag in the boot of my car for the friend who asked for them. Lr bin emptied and as it was too hot to do any more in the conservatory I got to the emails which have been neglected recently and deleted 800. Some had escaped previous culls because I wanted to read them properly but today I decided I cba and just deleted them 😂😂😂.
Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for coffee but it will involve an hour in the car each way but hopefully it will be bearable with the windows open 😂.
@Brie I have a blackbird too, 3.45 he was at it this morning little tyke 😂. I noticed last night it didn't ever get really dark here but it is tonight so I am hoping that means cloud cover and a possibility of rain 😂.
Right time for bed, hugs to anybody who would like one
II am adding 20 to my numbers so now 918/2026
Take care everyone

@Liverpool_Anne - thank you for the sensible suggestion 😊Mr MV is unfortunately not good at putting things away in the right places and has a terrible memory. I am going to do a variation, where I put all the excess together so that he can see it, instead of keeping the overstock in a separate cupboard.
Dollyrocker - I am using online videos. Swerving the AI offerings, there are some very knowledgeable tailors and seamstresses out there. I hope you find some local classes as that is the nicest way to learn. We are keeping our dog in the cool rather than walking too, although very early morning has been okay so far.
Vulpix - I am usually shortening things to suit too! I hope your overnight trip involved some air conditioning.
Mrs SD - I am delighted to hear that you have managed to fit in some socialising on your trip. Best wishes to you all 😊We are living in a twilight world of blinds down during the day to help with keeping the house cool. Very odd but won’t last long fortunately. Take care and chill out as much as you are able to as this is the perfect excuse 😊

Hi, no air conditioning at the hotel, just a fan . Not too bad as it is a very old building with thick walls. There was thunder and lightening and rain.
My son said central London wasn't too bad as he rides a bike from the station to work. The train on the other hand was hell. He says he will not be taking any time off and if trains home are cancelled he will stop at work in the air conditioning and get some flexi hours in hand. 😂
DIL's pot garden has grown. She has bought more and also a couple of tomato plants. I am so pleased she is so delighted with her new hobby. She has got the bug. They actually have a massive garden which I will wean her onto in good time. Softly , softly catchee monkey.
My new garden is suffering a bit. I don't generally water the garden once things are planted up, but I will have to do the poor individual plants with a watering can tonight. I don't want to be decluttering my expensive plants so soon. Most of my pots are in the shade so they will be ok for a day or two.I have several water butts so should be ok for water.
Nice to see you back posting Liverpool Anne, how is the kitchen progressing?
No clue what I will do today, this weather is so energy sapping. It could include sitting in the shade, knitting. I have blackbirds too. Mr and Mrs, they were very busy getting worms when I was planting the garden up.
Take care folks Vx

Wednesday it is very pleasant here - blue skies with fluffy white clouds & sunshine. Slept reasonably well with just a couple of bathroom visits. Up at 08:00 to make coffee & make DH a bacon sandwich. He left at 09:25 for a day of collecting old landmarks whilst I have a day off to rest my poor aching bones 😉 I am currently sitting out on the patio in the shade as the sun isn’t too high yet. A lovely temperature of 18°C & a very pleasant breeze. Maximum temperature is forecast as 25°C
TC77, it might have been a lethargic day but you are keeping your decluttering numbers ticking over 👏
Liverpool_Anne, the 16:00 change in temperature must have been a relief 😮💨 Hopefully it cooled down enough overnight so that you managed to get some sleep 🤞I am sure that plastic bags multiply - either self replication or a naughty elf comes in with an extra supply every other day 🙊 I am now craving rhubarb crumble with some lovely vanilla ice cream 😉 A good day’s work especially deleting emails 👏 I am putting in a request for a photo of your handmade wooden bowls - once they are polished of course 🙏😉
BlueJ94, hope you can get something for lunch 🤞Good luck with your ‘To Do List’ 🍀
Moorviews, hopefully your idea will work & MrMV will restrict his shopping to needed items only 🤞Lovely cheerleading 👏 Rather like your description of “living in a twilight world of blinds down” 😊
BlueJ94, yikes that is expensive 😣
vulpix, sounds like you were probably able to get some sleep 😊 So pleased to hear that your DiL has caught the gardening bug 😉 Hopefully you won’t have to use up too much of your water from the water butts 🤞 Nice to hear that you have been keeping Mr & Mrs blackbird happy whilst you were gardening ☺️
Wishing everyone a good day & please be careful in the heat 🙏

Mrs SD i am determined to get to 1000 by the end of June, may have to rely on dd1 getting back that morning throwing things out as slowed down.
I had so many watchers on things the last few weeks but no sales:(

Mine went up 20% but luckily it was 'only' £50ish to start with for the 2 cats. I think my monthly spend on the cats is only second to the basic bills, (council tax, energy, internet etc.). Vet bills, (since they were bought up by mega companies) in the UK are way higher than they were in France. 😞

Hello very warm peeps
I've just got back from a cool paddle in the sea, very refreshing, but indoors so hot I have brought the fan down from the bedroom.
I've mostly been hibernating as these are my days off but tomorrow I have to travel a couple of hours for a hosp appt and the forecast temp is "feels like" 30 so taking a couple of frozen bottles of water with me. Friday's forecast is "feels like" 40 so could be worse.
My friend went for an MRI locally yesterday and when he got there was told the machine had broken down in the hot weather.
Our hottest days are Fri and Sat so looking forward to the Sunday cool down.
I bought myself some flowers for my Birthday last week. They are "floor flowers" as I've cleared all plants from the windowsill.
Keep cool if you can everybody!
