Gosh @Siebrie I had hoped your silence meant that you were busy sorting things out and would come back with lovely news. It sounds very stressful, please look after yourself.
I've still been going back to that same desk drawer. I've probably decluttered it about 10 times in the past couple of days. If it takes that long for the rest of the house, it's going to be very slow indeed! My drawer now contains one spare tablet cover in case we break one (we have before, but possibly not necessary), a guarantee for my watch battery that I don't know where to put (do I even need that?), 2 notebooks I use for work training notes, a note from a neighbour with useful information and 4 to do list pads I was gifted and I am slowly working through at work.
DH was talking about buying another cable the other day and I found 2 spare ones in that drawer! They've now been re-homed to the cable drawer so we can find and use them.

oh siebrie like queen jess id hoped it was all going to be sorted. Sorry to hear about your dad and that your mum either is still having problems with water from surrounding flats or having new issues. Hope you get the finances sorted. Would be good if there was some logic to lawyers or courts sifting through a couples finances and apportioning correctly according to who is the saver and who is the spender. Hope your husband sees sense over the girls but remember they will see through his nonsense
Take care

@Yorkie1 I’m in Herts so you have my sympathies about the current weather. I keep seeing memes on the internet about Hobbits throwing tings into people’s houses.
Much though I love my DSis she doesn’t like bugs so we have conversations about window opening at night too……meanwhile I’m melting

Looking forward to the weather breaking but coping ok by doing nothing much. Dsil had a knee replacement Friday which seems to have gone well. DGS3 came round to help yesterday and we got some garden jobs done with lots of drinks and breaks. DGS4 was delighted to find the swimming pool up and running when he came Thursday. They have gone away for a surprise weekend at a caravan.

Morning all.
I went to Asd. last night to get ice lollies and my package but only took keys and my debit card with me so couldn't collect it as the confirmation of delivery is on my phone.
My new sofa is arriving this morning.
We had a storm and heavy rain here this morning.
I am going to clean the washing machine and run a cleaner wash on it.
Got a bit of ironing to do.
Decluttered - cardboard box x 2, shorts, tee shirt, wipe, bag of curtain lining, 2 x hankie and 4 pieces of fabric.

Did a few more bits this morning, although I have very little time as the kids constantly interrupt me and rather than helping me, they prefer to get me to help them.

And this is why I have to declutter alone… I asked DS to help me go through things and he wasn’t that helpful and then got bored and wanted to do his room. DH is now looking at his own room and DD doesn’t want to be left out and is going through her pens…
And of course I am the only person who can package things up and sort out into bags for charity, recycling etc.

Hi all, yesterday was grim. Half hour drive to OH's house then 45 min drive to where we thought the car was but it was still at the garage which we only found out after a couple of phone calls so off to the garage but we did stop for a cold drink on the way. 45 min drive to the garage through the tunnel which was like a furnace and found the garage. Then back home. I went via the sm as I needed a few bits and mistakenly thought it would be cool in the shop. I got home like a wet dish rag but OH had gone via the drive through and picked up some food and another cold drink, it was 2.30 by then so I was hungry and glad not to have to organise anything 😁. OH headed out for a lesson at 3.30 taking a loaf I had been asked to pick up and a note book as all that is usually kept in the car had been removed before it went into the garage so 1 large note pad decluttered 😂. I asked OH to look at a torch thing I had found in the conservatory but even with new batteries we couldn't get it to work so binned and another item put in the cs bag.
After OH left I had a cold shower and just wilted in front of the fan 😂
Today I have the union thing to do so have been prepping for that but hope to get a bit more out of the conservatory when it is cooler this evening
@Siebre so sorry to hear about everything you are having to cope with but very glad to see you back here. Feel free to rant here if you feel the need, you know we are all here to support you. Also bear in mind that future expenses for your girls education should also be shared between you and your husband.. I know this might be difficult to sort out, if the experience of my friends in similar situations is anything to go by, but if he wants to maintain any sort of relationship with his daughters he will need to help support them. In my experience once a father's lack of financial support becomes know children are very quick to understand the situation and realise who is the better parent. Big hugs for you and your girls.
Right time for lunch before I get to the union thing. Hugs to everyone who would like one
Take care everyone
