Hi all, sorry I have been missing again and I haven't yet caught up with all the posts. Things have been a bit stressful here but life goes on so we just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and plod on 😁. The big news is that the builders are coming on Monday to rip out the kitchen and remove the plaster down to the brick so the damp wall can dry out. They have had a bit of a poke around to try to find the source of the damp and will rectify it. I will have to hire a dehumidifier and once it is all dry they will return to replaster and fit the new kitchen. I am on the home run of emptying the kitchen, the fridge and freezer have been moved to the back room and I have a little table set up for the kettle to go on, tea and coffee ranged on the window still and a place to put the washing up bowl. I will have to carry it upstairs to do the washing up but it will be doable. I have 4 draws left to empty and find places to put what I will need to use. Despite hours of worry about it all I have now got to the stage where I think it will be ok 😁. Lots of things have been binned or recycled and bags of things have been taken to the charity shop or passed on to other people. I will add my numbers in a bit, I have kept a list but I need to find my last post to do the maths 😂.
Today I have a tip run planned to dispose of some old paint. I can't take it to my local tip but there is one near enough. I also have some polystyrene packaging that ln has asked me to take and I might be able to take some of the kitchen cupboard doors if I get to them 😁, if not they can go in the skip with the rest of the kitchen 😂.
Right going to make a cuppa and try to find my last post and do the maths 😂
Take care everyone

Thursday, after yesterday’s slight relief, today is another scorcher with a forecast high of 30°C, light SSE breeze & a low of 15°C although not much sunshine until late afternoon. DSis’s course has been cancelled again presumably because it is too hot. I have put a load in the wm which dried on the whirligig. I wrote a shopping list for - mostly salad ingredients. DH & DSis enjoyed using the car now that the air-con works 😉 I had a chat with neighbours G&A mostly about the ‘unpleasant neighbour’ - apparently she was taken away in handcuffs as she failed to turn up for her court appearance 😧 Old pair of tracksuit bottoms cut up, the material parts will be used to clean the ovens & then binned. My DB phoned - very chatty so we caught up on all our news. He has recovered well from his op. Salad for dinner with hm egg mayonnaise. Wudupa.
899 - 902 Kitchen recycling, 2 plastic bottles, drinks cans - recycled
903 - 905 Kitchen & lr detritus, unusable pieces of cut up tracksuit bottoms - binned
You are very welcome Willowtree222 😊 The emptier garage is definitely down to you, after all you instigated the decluttering 👏
surprisinglynice, that storm sounds horrendous 😞 Hope you managed to stay awake for your fiends when they visited 😉
Willowtree222, not so much as a drop of rain here. Hopefully the storm has cleared the air & reduced the heat 🤞
Florenceem, well done decluttering the dowels 👏 Fingers crossed that J remembers to take the empty paint cans to the Tip & that your bestie was in touch later in the day 🤞
Yorkie1, yippee to the drain being unblocked 🥳 Hope it wasn’t too expensive 🤞Good luck at the allotment 🍀
Soontobeoap, you have been busy 🤩 Well done on all the Tip trips 👏
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 & well done to young J for working so quickly with the painting in the large RoD 👏
ionafan, I do love a good thunderstorm 😉 especially when I am safe indoors 😊
suzeesu2000, sorry to hear that you have lost your voice & that your throat, chest & back are achey ☹️ Sending healing vibes your way + many gentle cwtches ☺️
vulpix, your garden steps sound magnificent ☺️ The price of materials started becoming ridiculous during Covid & have continued to rise ever since with no sign of slowing ☹️ 😖 Loving all the plans for the back garden especially “the dove house on the side of the imaginary shed” ☺️ Hope you enjoy the show 😊
Lovely to see you MadamMim2013 👋 A lovely cheerleading post ☺️ Excellent work & decluttering at both your Mum’s house and yours 👏 A good result from the car boot sale & then donating unsold items to CS is worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way.
Excellent work oceanspirit 👏 so pleased to hear that your Master List has worked so well so a medal 🏅 is on its way.
Florenceem, how wonderful that the large RoD has been renamed & is now the new lounge 🥳 It could get rather confusing with so many Js in your life 😉
TC77 what nice neighbours ☺️ & great decluttering 👏
Sleep tight 😴

Liverpool Anne, so good to see you. I had decided that I was going to txt you today. Pleased to see you are ok. The new kitchen will be magnificent and the pain of the creation will be soon forgotten. You are always welcome to come to me for a break from it all.xx

@Liverpool_Anne - thanks for popping in, it’s so good to hear from you! I have been wondering how things were going with your new kitchen project. I hope you had an enjoyable break from everything in Anglesey xx
I have struggled with the heat but yesterday wasn’t quite as intense so I did manage to get some tidying and housework done. Gardening has been first thing in the morning and I have been trying to fill my garden waste bin. As all the weeds have shrivelled down in the heat (rather like me) there is still plenty of room in there! No rain for us so we have had to water. Only the greenhouse, pots and vegetables though.
@TC77 - great work with your landing cupboard! How you managed it in this heat I don’t know 😊 I take my sunhat off to you! Also, the same to @Florenceem it is lovely to hear that you have a sitting room and not a ROD 👏
Congratulations @Willowtree222 on getting your garage finally back to yourself 🎉

Morning. I tried resetting notifications but still not working properly. I discovered how sharp my new secateurs were by trying to cut something awkward and stabbing my finger. That stopped all gardening last night as it bled profusely - ok now but need a plaster for a few days. I cut back yet more overgrown bushes - three are reduced by about two thirds and I should be able to dig them out. I did a bit more trimming this morning but hedgecutter ran out of oomph so charging now. I don't like doing it when DGD4 is about but Sox insists on supervising from close by. I think he thinks mice are going to appear from underneath. We are still missing the rain.
I have started emptying the shed of doom - I need to line the back wall with some wood as fairly sure this is asbestos but there are wooden battens which can be drilled into so asbestos can be left untouched. I need to get a special bag from the council as there are random bits of corrugated asbestos dumped in corners of the garden. Putting it together behind garage out of the way at the moment. The other walls of shed are breeze block and brick. I need to pull out about 30 rusty nails used as hooks and I can paint the walls cream the same as the outside. There is a very old kitchen unit in there which needs to come out - council won't take it in their bulk collections for some reason. I guess they think of it as builder's waste but it is from original kitchen c 1969.
My builder has arranged for his dad to come and shave some off bedroom 3 door next week. DGS4 complaints that Sox jumps on him in the night as he can't shut the door due to new carpet. I have a few more frogs to do.
522 Lots more tree and bush pruning to recycling bin. Trimming them with hedge trimmer cuts stuff up small so easier to fit in bin.
523-527 First bag of stuff from shed of doom out including old rusty shears, a box of foul smelling mealworms that had gone rotten, general tat, broken box lids, brokens seed trays etc
Plans for the back garden are forming in my head. Taking DGCs out for a while so picking them up at their dads in 15 minutes.

Morning all.
Floss - thanks. In the new lounge I have a new chaise longue and a sofa bed - the bed chair is purple corduroy. The chaise is black and purple. F & B don't have much in the purple range. I am toying with the idea of buying a 2 seater sofa in black corduroy. I need to see the furniture I already have placed in the finished room. The carpet is black or a very dark grey. Hoping to not change the carpet as the room has only been for storage. I have to get a lampshade for the room. Also may get a table lamp for the antique table.
I have more or less spent Mr F's savings so will dip into mine now.
Three walls are Timeless which is on the Dulu. site described as -
Timeless is an ultra-pale cream with a delicate floral feeling
The blinds shop didn't have anything purple that I liked in the small colour range.
This room was hard to chose a paint colour for because of existing furniture colours. I am hoping I will like the chosen colour
So I have gone with F & B Reading Room Red. This is an archive colour. I have chosen a striking blind for the room.
Waiting for young J to arrive.
Been in touch with builder J - he is going to change the door catch when he can get to somewhere that sells singles. A lot of catches now come in packs of 10.
I hope to take donations to the charity shop later today.

Iwas baptised in the CofE church in Walthamstow, as a baby, and they were very quick and helpful in getting me a copy of the long decluttered certificate.
Minimal decluttering here over the past couple of days, as Younger Son and I have been volunteering at the CofE tent at our county show. Things bought there were eaten or drink at the show, I did accept one cloth bag from a vets' practice… bag has been put into use as a cloth bag, roll of dog mess bags is with the other bags (in a little basket on top of the unit in the hallway) as is the collapsible water bowl. Leaflets in the recycling bin.
I was inspired by one of the other volunteers last year, and took a reusable cup for my coffee. And water bottles for our cold drinks. I put into place a cunning plan, and used the label maker to label them all with the name of our church and our names, so they were less likely to get lost.
Cup, water bottles, lids and the many lunch boxes all washed up and on the draining board. Sun cream put back in the bathroom.
I managed to keep on top of the washing up over the 2 days, so the house looks no worse than before we went.
The sticker is here for the green waste bin to let the binmen know I've paid for it, and I can't get much more in till they empty that on Tuesday.
Things are progressing well with Elder Son's house purchase, so he should be moving out this summer. Much stuff will go with him.
Oh, I forgot the coats! I got 6 coats and gilets removed from the hallway, washed with waterproofing and dried. Elder Son then told me that 2 of them were spares for me. This would work better if they were my size… I'll see if anyone wants them, or send them to charity shops. So the hallway is looking better, I guess.
