Not much been happening around here for the last couple of days. Went to singing on Tuesday and then made teas at DHs bowls match in the afternoon. Made cakes for that on Monday and then craft group ( we run it every bank holiday) yesterday we went to the tip again with all of the rose and bush cuttings from the back garden. We have been there so much that they will be inviting us to their Christmas party! I love the warmer weather but hoping that it cools down soon just long enough for me to do a bit more in the back garden as well as paint the shed and bee hive compost bin.

Thank you so much for my medal, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I will ensure that it stays shiny!
We had an amazing thunderstorm around midnight last night, with lots of sheet lightning followed by heavy rain. The garden looks happier for it 🌻😎

Not fair. We apparently had one flash of lightening around 1am. No sky bangs, no rain.
Although I struggle with heat every year, this has been the worse. I’ve lost my voice and my throat, chest and back are really achey. At least the air con is giving me some relief. Feel so sorry for anyone having to work in it or travel, especially trains. Must be awful.Dinner for both from freezer and air fryer.
Hope everyone is doing okay.Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx

I was up in the night enjoying watching the storm. Half the town had no electricity and the traffic lights were off half the day. Mild peril! Just a tiny bit of rain.
We have some very grand steps in the front garden. I have been and chosen some gravel. How much? The price of materials has gone through the roof. I would say the front garden has cost about double what I expected. It is a craftsman job though and will undoubtedly add value to the house. The thing I like is it is in keeping with the house and the materials look original. This time next year the garden will be more mature and will give me a lot of pleasure.
soontobeoap. I covet your beehive compost bin. I keep asking Mr V to make me one at man shed. I also want him to make a little sentry box to cover the ugly gas cupboard at the front. I would also like a dove house on the side of my imaginary shed. We have inherited a coal bunker which is full of garden waste. Too woody to compost. Emptying that is a job for cooler weather.
I am getting ready for our trip tomorrow to see the Basil Brush after dark show. We have decided not to go on holiday this year and do plenty of nice little things instead.
Vx

Hellooo 👋🏼 & hangs head for being absent again..😔 Sending hugs, hopes and kind thoughts to cover anything missed.. 💗
This lovely weather has beaten me up just a bit and I currently feel that I resemble a stay puff marshmallow man (very swollen hands, feet and legs.. 😣)
@Oceanspirit, I like to keep a master list and update/redo once a year (keeping a couple years for reference/to note any details needed.. paint colours for what room, etc) it’s proved itself very useful more than once. I also sub-divide into areas/rooms.
@Florenceem love reading about all your progress and I am still saddened that your original Corps haven’t taken very good care of you, such a shame as it was evident just how kind and thoughtful you were towards others when there.
I have however done bits when able:
Mums= 1 small dead fir tree removed, 3 box shrubs cleared, all hedges and grass neatened and 3 loads to the tip along with an old & beheaded ornament ( was very creepy! 😮🤣)2 new shed lights fitted (thanks to hubby) housework and shopping done. Taken to various medical appointments and aftercare done ✔️
Home = Car Boot sale done last weekend, thankfully when not too hot.. lots of stuff gone and over £100 made 🥳
Clothes and items that returned from said Carboot have all been bagged and taken to a charity shop or two..
New cupboard up in shed, all packaging taken to tip along with old wood and broken drawers/shelves.
Have now put an empty box in the garage and will add items that can go to charity, that way they’re not hanging about the house in various piles.
Helped my DS2 declutter his beard and shape his moustache 🥸
🥵🥵 Have fed everyone this evening and now going for a cool shower and then for an early night!"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

The compilation of the master list was started last night and whilst there is plenty more to add, it has worked well today. I made a start in the bedroom, followed the list and lots of little niggles have been dealt with. Other jobs elsewhere in the house have also been done so I am pleased with how it turned out.
Down to 241 emails and a few more things put into use or into recycling bin.

J finished painting 3 walls in the new lounge - not calling it the large ROD now. He primed the new wood that builder J installed. Builder J has not got back to me after I left a message.
J - brother of J arrived and gave his brother a lift home. Both their names start Jo….
I took my shopping trolley full of donations to the charity shop.
Had a no spending day - already gone over shopping budget this month.
Carried on with sorting when I came home. My shopping trolley is full again.
I cleaned the lounge skirting ready for painting.
I did some knitting on my new project.
Looking forward to J putting colour on the feature wall.

I recall there was a discussion about neighbours and bins in think with @Liverpool_Anne. Been cutting back my neighbours hedge my side and posted in our street whatsapp if anyone had space in their garden bin and offering space in my recyling and rubbish bin. One lovely neighbour wanted clippingsfor their compost and 2 others offered space which i took up. 5 trips to declutter counted. Large old duvet out, sharpened some pencils and making more mess in advance of sorting things out. Couple of washes done, mopping and hoovering.
