2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Another 30 e-mails decluttered, I'm going on every day and trying to get to the older ones after sorting the new ones that pop up daily.
My slow cooker has packed in, it's been a work horse machine in my kitchen and sad to see it go, so new one ordered and it came today, bonus for me it is lighter than the old one and a simple dial set up so other half can use it as well.

Rags taken to the rag bank today and the charity bag is ready for collection tomorrow.

Yesterday I sorted my handbag and purse out all receipts in to recycling and I also took any 1p's 2p's and 5p's out will have a count up and see if I can put any back in to the bank 

I also checked the letter box and the only thing in there was a takeaway menu so that went in to the recycling were as before it would have been put down somewhere 

I also finished my college work now need to start on unit 2 go back on Thursday 

Today I have made lasagne and I used a jar of sauce that we had in so didn't need to buy one, I also cleaned and tidied the utensils drawer out I found 14 of the medicine little cups so I will take to college and see if they can use them, I found some plastic knives and some of the wooden spoons and a tea leaf holder they went in to the bin and give everything a good clean

Took my DS birthday cards and banner down, I have sold 3 more items so I will post them tomorrow 

It's cold here today they keep saying we are going to get some snow later today hopefully not but my DS would like to have a snowball fright but I not sure about that, when we last had snow he built a snowman but got upset when it started to melt

Helloooooooooo!

I have done more today than I have all week but am losing my voice… that’s either down to the lurgy or doing too much after treatment day but apart from feeling a bit tired I feel ok - for me anyway 😜

I have done some decluttering aka redistribution to the bin - it’s going to take a while to get used to that! I won’t be posting my figures every day cos that will be sooooooooo boring for you all to read but I have reminded hubby that the hall table is not a dumping ground, no Indont want the farepak meal calendar his mum gave us and have made my desk all shiny and clean ready for tomorrow. Second lot of washing is on, Rogan was fed early and was a bit confused as I threw out his dog walking bag. It was all crumbled up inside and although he will eat anything I draw the line at bits of plastic!!! He’s now cwtched up dreaming🥰

For Those of us who has their first day back tomorrow may we all sleep restfully and the bosses be in a good mood! Xx

I've sorted and deleted some old emails then sorted through the toys in the living room, as DGS2 is getting a bit old for them now. A few have gone up in the loft (as DGS3 is expected later in the year!) and the rest are going to the charity shop.
Christmas cards taken down, noted and we've decided we need a couple of overnight trips later in the year to catch up with 4 sets of old friends. Luckily, they fit geographically into 2 visits.

Had a declutter flutter this afternoon and rid myself of some Christmas pressies I didn’t really like, some clothes that just weren’t me any more, some packaging, bags and a few other bits so I’m on 36/2026!

@Deb4 when my elder daughter was little she made a small snowman on a tray. She insisted it went in the freezer. I had a big chest one at the time. She got it out in July and was most unimpressed that it melted quickly 

Today I have:

Decluttered some marketing emails and unsubscribed where possible

Binned a grotty old pillow

Decluttered various leftovers into a strange leftovers pie for dinner, which OH was very enthusiastic about. It used the last bit of bought puff pastry, a smallish amount of sausagemeat from the freezer, a few cherry tomatoes, some hard boiled eggs plus a beaten egg lurking in the fridge, half an onlon, a few slices of salami, a few mushrooms and some grated cheese. There was probably more. Anyway, it was never going to win any awards, but OH was happy 

Lined up some items to leave the house tomorrow when the CS are open

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Thank you - I've had one breakdown, albeit over 25 years ago and I now try to protect myself.  It's lovely to be back and catch up with everyone. 😁

The trip to the blue and yellow shop when well.  DS1 and DiL1 were a bit late coming over - their car's doors were welded shut because of the snow and ice and yes, you've guessed it, the deicer was in the car. 🤣🤣
My car defrosted easily mainly because it had been defrosted yesterday, so was only dealing with one day's worth of ice. We went in my car as it's an estate. My road was rather icy - I tested the brakes at around 5 mph and the ABS kicked straight in 😱 but I'm only a couple of miles from the M4 and once we were on that it was plain sailing.

I was pleased to not spend much at the shop myself and what I did bring into the house is going into use immediately.  As for the main reason I went - looking at items I thinking of buying in the future, such as kitchen units and another wardrobe - I now need to start saving, as money is tight these days🤣

So, not a lot of decluttering done today apart from another meal from the freezer and the tree back into the loft.  DS1 and I had a good chat when he brought in the tower units I mentioned in my last post, about a plan for the coming year to get the house more livable and not just a collection of storage rooms.  Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees as my mother would say and it's really useful having someone you trust to throw ideas at you. 😁

Back again!  The kids spent over an hour putting the tree and all the decorations back in the boxes.  DH will put the boxes back in the loft after dinner.

I did a quick clear out of a drawer downstairs that DS historically used, but doesn't seem to use anything in it anymore.  Most things got decluttered, the rest gone to his room and I've reclaimed the drawer to give me more space for napkins etc.  I also went through all the battery operated candles to check they work (we use them when we have power cuts and sometimes for decor).  I probably have too many, but they fit in the box, so I'm leaving them for now.  Lots of batteries had run out.
