Two more drawers decluttered in the lounge and 3 dumpy bags of garden waste taken to the tip as we have cancelled the £80 a year our council wants for collecting a brown bin of waste every 2 weeks.20

Hi everyone
We've had snow overnight which, thanks to being right on the coast, has been reduced to a smattering due to the salty sea air.
I went out very early to get the bin in and put round the back and the temp was -1 but "feels like -7". There was a vicious wind.
Coming back to the front door I glanced at the drain and touched the external shower pipe (which is always loose) to move it up very slightly. It felt looser than usual and when I looked up it had snapped apart.
The great thing about this is that when I went indoors to get the extra strong tape and scissors to temporarily fix it I knew exactly where to find them as I have a notebook for the 9 drawer cupboard which listed what was in which drawer.
I know it's only a little thing but it's saved me so much time and stress being able to find them immediately and fix the pipe.26 -

Is that the best thing to do with the new one? Maybe if you return it for now, you can promise yourself to buy a beautiful replacement in a few months?purplevamp said:
My new dressing gown came but it doesn't really fit that well, sleeves are too long and the body doesn't wrap around without leaving a gap when I sit down
. Not going to send it back as I may fit into it in a few months after I've lost some weight (finger's crossed). Still wearing the old one for now.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I have lots of things that are going to fit in a few months. Those months have lasted decades!! I've decided that I can get rid of the stuff (BNWL!!) I don't fit, keep the money in the bank hopefully earning me a few pennies and then I'll buy something right lush when I do lose that weight whenever that might be!!Floss said:

Helloooooooo!
Getting rid of the cold hubby kindly gave me and getting over treatment weekend. It’s gone better than normal as I’m not stressing out about All The Things.
i have also banned the word “should” from my vocabulary as it just means undue stress and friction leading to guilt and inadequacy. Only took 50 odd years!
Im also keeping my Christmas yummyness - I won’t be eating it all in one go 😳😳😳 but it’s all packed away for when I do want. Sweet treat.
I have already done a 26 for 2026 finished a biography The Prison Teacher by Mim Skinner. Very interesting.
A big welcome to newbies and returnees! Don’t panic about the pace we all go at. None of us are robots and we do as much or as little as we can manage. The pace will slow down a bit later on 😋
Take care

It's going to cost me nearly £4 to send back and I am hoping to lose weight so I'll keep it. It's not that small but small enough for now. I'm only going to use this as my shower gown, just wearing it for a short while to dry off. My regular dressing gown fits perfectly and keeps me very toasty 😊Floss said:

Had an unexpected win at the charity shop today - a sideboard with glass doors, very sturdy and just the right size. i had looked in the shops a while back and ouch re cost, nothing suitable on fb marketplace so very happy today. Delivery is £30 for up to 5 items so another turn round the shop and have bought a smaller sideboard for next to my bed (currently using a very wobbly white chest of drawers). this has of course resulted in need to declutter the drawers - mainly into a box (which has now joined the other 16 to sort in the 'office'!) was impressed getting 3 drawers down to one shallow plastic box. spaces also cleaned. so that was today's 26 minute dash.

Saturday continued: on the last part of knitting another hat just 11 rows left to knit & then sew up. Cleared down a couple more programmes from the TV planner. I have a little time to cheerlead before making dinner 🙂
oceanspirit, always hard with such longstanding relationships 😞
Welcome aboard the EDT twinklie 😊 Great work starting your decluttering journey with a Tip run 👏 I have made a note of your goals & look forward to following your progress 😊 Good luck especially with sales on Vinted 🍀
Wednesday2000, well done cutting out ‘so called friends’ - life is too short to have negative relationships. Shame that the CS couldn’t take the armchairs ☹️ seems like a large number of people are also decluttering 😉 Fingers crossed that the second hand store will take the armchairs 🤞
twinklie, good luck with the TOM App 🍀
See you later 👋

So much happening here, and a reminder to use the tlc carriage and take care of ourselves.
Few items returned ( not counting) and 4 plates, a keep fit thing and book added to cs bag and dropped off. Found a bag of wool and a few small bits in recycling.
New total 11.
