A quick post. Today has been pottering again but more purposeful than yesterday. Hugs to all having health and other problems and to anyone else who wants one. Bitterly cold but still no snow here. I cleaned kitchen cabinets and surfaces and put things away. Emptied fridge and freezer out and I have a large pot of random veggies in the slow cooker to which I have added mince. This should make a few meals. A few things went in the bin. DS2 bought a half filled bag for CS which I have filled up. I plan to stay in until Thursday this week if I can manage that. I'll need some shopping but not much and I can visit tip and CS shop again when I go for hair appointment Thursday. First school run will be THursday pm. I have decided on wardrobe and a small unit for bedroom 2 but not sure about ordering it yet.

Oh I am so looking forward to the restoration of sanity tomorrow. This change in my routine has really not been good for me.
I think it’s pretty certain now that DH will not be able to have anything to do with emptying our loft. Since the death of the stairlift, it has become so clear he is not safe enough to climb a ladder. Not a problem, just got to have a think on what to do now and how to do it.Did some scanning, filing and shredding today. All gone in recycling which is being collected Monday.
Decluttered a stack of “notes” I had written for myself. I’ve added what was needed to diary - I have kept a diary since forever and would be lost without it.
Updated “To Do” list.Wrote this weeks menu out and added to fridge door.Decluttered a piece of beef from freezer. Didn’t fancy a roast, so I had a bowl of chips and DH had beef rolls. I will use some tomorrow for dinner (not a roast) and the reminder will be portioned, bagged and back to freezer.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger DH doesn’t do computers very well. He has diabetic retinopathy and struggles with seeing screens with text and also has chemo brain from when he had cancer, so he struggles bless him. Plus we are a team, so I am happy to do anything for him🥰
Got a list as long as my arm to start on tomorrow. Yippee!
Have a good night all and please take extra care if out and about in the slippery stuff, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

So far I’m managing to keep up with the posts, last year was a bit of a disaster as I spent December reading June onwards!Anyway, next items are:
5. Mini perfume used up
6. - 15. cardboard boxes recycled
16. - 17. iPad packaged up and sent off
18. Emails unsubscribed
19. Receipts scanned
20. paid professional subs and membership fees
21. emails unsubscribed
22. felt Xmas stocking to charity shop
23. Child enrolment form for Gold D of E completed, fees pid
24. Payment made for child’s winter camp
Child is back to school tomorrow- I’ve worked normal office hours over Christmas, so looking forward to not being the only one up at 7.30am. They are doing GCSEs this year so they’re applying for 6th forms, hoping they hear from their preferred college soon, as there is an interview process. Also there will be a year 11 prom so having to find a reasonably priced dress is also important- some of the girls in her class have spent £300 - £400 on a dress😱 not something we can affordDeclutter 2026 in 2026 67/202623 -
Good evening.
Sending love @crazy_cat_lady. I hope you don't have to wait to long for your op.
Nothing really done yesterday. Tidied in the kitchen a bit then sat at the table with DH while he did his lego then we watched stranger things with the boys.
Today the rest of the christmas decorations have come down and there's currently 7x 80litre boxes sat on the table waiting to go back in the loft (and that isn't them all) living room got a good hoover and throws are in the wash. Everything was covered in glitter.
Sent DH to fetch another bag from the loft and he's fetched 2 down. A lot of the kids clothes again, most about 18 months-2 range. All rebagged ready to go to the clothes bank. I did actually remember a lot of these ones as the younger kids.
Back to reality tomorrow, already have kids saying they're not going.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554
Mortgage@1 June 18 - £76350

I have managed to do the veg blanching but just got some chicken to use up which I’ll do after posting this post. The washing up remains due to the pots i used blanching 🙄🤣 The xmas decorations are not fully away. My excuse is that i ended up at doctors on Friday and they suspect I have a hernia so am on pain killers and need a scan.
My plan reminder for me for week beginning 5 Jan:-
1. offload unwanted sweets/xmas chocs (sister takes them to work and leaves in brew room!)
2. sort glasses and mugs in cupboard
3.clean living room window (will take a while as not been touched in a long time🤢)
4. print off the 1p saving challenge and fill in with what’s already in tub. I don’t put money in daily just when i have spare change. ✅
5. sort mums attendance allowance out. She already gets basic but been advised to get higher one. (this is helping to declutter my todo list)
6. remove 10 random clutter items daily from round the house. Or 70 in total across the week.
7. go through spices/sauce mix tub and get rid of stuff out of date or don’t use
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Another day of bringing a lot into the house as did the food shop £85 and got some of the more expensive bits for the month as had a ten percent off Lidl voucher. No other purchases though. No decluttering done today but sold two items a gorgeous royal Albert cup and saucer for £17 as trying to cut back on my china. Also a small plastic cat from a blind bag of my daughters I only bothered with to stop it going to landfill. I’m convinced my local charity shops bin certain things (for example they never seem to put out small toys) so sometimes I’ll sell more for environmental purposes as opposed to for the money.21
