I decluttered money at the blinds shop.
I now have boxes in all the cubes. There are 12 left over for the spare Kalla.
All the masking tape has been removed, the floor swept and mopped.
My bestie had almost lost her voice - hence no early morning message.
For some unknown reason - my bins were not emptied today - they can't blame restricted access this time.
Builder J won't be fixing the units to the wall until Monday. There is only one that can be fixed using the provided bits - the rest of the units are on wonky walls. I am hoping J will have an idea of how to anchor them.
I moved my new sewing machine into the space where it will live. The spare spools I ordered arrived today.
I have ordered a cable tidy - it is a mess of wires behind my computer desk.

Two disasters yesterday. My car was making a funny noise. The garage says it is going to cost £1600 for a new turbo. It’s so trying. We have had a broken suspension spring, drivetrain error that cost £400 to diagnose and then £160 to fix and now the turbo. The car is worth about £6000 so you can’t just leave it in bits with a broken turbo but it makes me nervous.
More serious I have worn out the elbow on my favourite cashmere cardigan. I have darned several holes caused by our cats but I think it needs a patch for the elbow. I don’t know what is possible. I can only imagine the brown patches on a geography teacher’s elbow and i am not sure that is a good look on my lovely blue cardigan. Any ideas from you super clever people.

@Green_hopeful - that's very bad luck with the car trouble. I have had some very unreliable cars myself and it does make life very stressful. You never know what is worth fixing, or not. Regarding the cashmere cardigan, there are lots of methods now. Visible, or invisible mending, needle felting in more wool fibres, or a wool patch. It is worth thinking about how you want it to look in the end. If I were to use fabric patches I would use scraps of jersey fabric and kind of appliqué them in place. I am keeping a cashmere jumper (from T*sco) that is far too small now, for repairs to another jumper. Thankfully there are loads of ideas online and mended clothes are celebrated.
@Dizzycap - that must have been a very difficult consultation xx I am glad that babyface had such a good day with the reduction of steroids and that you have got the best possible support in place for her.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - oops, I forgot to thank you for my medal! It is very much appreciated thank you xx
Yesterday's frogs were super productive and resulted in money being refunded due to subscriptions being taken, despite having been previously cancelled. Always worth checking statements! The fridge check revealed some things to be used up over the weekend. The supermarket was so busy when I went shopping that I forgot to scrutinise the dates. I am going to go through my cardigans this morning to see what still fits me. Hopefully I shall get some seeds sown and a tray of bedding planted out. It will help me stay away from the garden centre, which I am feeling a burning desire to go to!
Wishing you all a nice weekend xx

I have spent a lovely hour putting plants into my online basket then realising I only have a mud patch. I might go for it anyway and pot them on for a bit.
Green hopeful, it's so annoying with poorly cars. I had a mini years ago that had to have something new every month for about 5 months. I had a big commute and didn't trust it.In the end sold it and got a new car. I had probably sold a fault free car in the end! As to your mending, I love a visible mend. I darned DS's fave dark green work jumper with red wool. I loved it, don't think he was ever brave enough to wear it to work. He was an English teacher at the time, the kids would have slayed him.🤣
Think my cold is getting better so I want to go out, anywhere, don't care where. The trip may involve buying plants or at least a bag of compost.
I started making the bags and toy dogs. Didn't do the neck on the jumper. I just don't like doing them!
Have a nice day people, Vx

Green_hopeful - make a design feature - patch on each elbow - floral fabric and a strip binding each front edge. Could even do the collar as well.
Today is chilly.
Went out to Lid and The Rang - got some hardwall picture hooks. I plan to hang up my quilting rulers.
While I had a cup of tea and a hot cross bun - I did a menu plan for a week's dinners.
I want to empty my small chest freezer. The drawers on my upright fridge/freezer will be enough for me. I will keep the chest one as a spare in case mine or my daughters breaks down. I have written a shopping list for next week.
Just opened my second clear mat - very curled edges - this is for the area in front of my sewing machine - I will also use it if I sit at my craft table.
I am going to clean the area under my computer desk then start to bring stuff down into my craft room from storage upstairs.
Need to keep busy. Today is Mr F's Birthday - he would be 74 years old.

@Green_hopeful hop over to the Fashion on the Ration thread. They will have lots of ideas on how to save your cardi.
I have a woolly jumper with fake elbow patches in a sherbet-y orange. The main jumper is navy.

Thinking of you today @Florenceem
Well done on your loan move @BlueJ94
Glad to hear Babyface had a good day yesterday @Dizzycap
Mum and I were crying with laughter at her cat, who was up the apple tree in her garden. Next to that tree is a silver birch tree; there was a magpie on its nearest branch to the apple tree, strutting its stuff at the cat and chattering in a definitely taunting manner. You could see the cat calculating if it could safely jump across - but decided against it in the end 🤣
I booked assistance for my train journey home from mum's, to get my suitcase on and off the train and its luggage rack. It all went very smoothly and would recommend it.
Most of the house is tidy and clear because I have guests staying. Can't get into the box room and around my room, as that's where I moved the clutter from the spare room to. Once they go, I aim to consider each item rather than just sticking it back where it came from. Hopefully, that will be effective as an approach.
