Hmm, we have a white bath sheet each which we wash and use. I have been trying to get them to wear out for years.8 fancy hand towels for the bathroom and cloakroom, 2 of them Christmas. 2 yellow visitor towels and recently bought 2 white bath and 2 white hand towels now we can accommodate more guests. tea towels ( Mr V's best joke. What is the most common owl in the UK?, the tea towel.) 4, I am trying to wear out, 6 Christmas ones and 4 waiting for the others to become rags.

Bedding. One king size sheet, wash and use. 6 single duvet covers, 2 Christmas. We have a single quilt each.4 single duvet sets, 2 Christmas, 2 single sheets. 1 double sheet, 1 double duvet cover. Don't know how many pillow cases. Some duvets have matching ones, some just white ones.

I gave a massive amount of bedding,towels and tea towels to bit by bit for her needy extended family. I didn't need it as I had downsized and my family had all left home.

Got some trousers in Tesco sale today. They will be good with a top I bought in Bury the other week. They will need turning up as I am a short house. I will count clothes after Easter. I imagine it will be in the 300's, at least.

I need to go clothes shopping - I would have trouble getting to 100. I do need some clothes, just can't get to the store to buy any. May have to buy online as I need a black skirt, a warm jacket, and another pair of summer trousers. I have one comforter, 2 sets sheets, 12 face cloths, and two towels. Plus 4 tea towels. My problem is books - doesn't the average family have over three thousand of them?

Morning all!

So my brain may have finally clicked as well as listening to a slob comes clean podcast.. ive decluttered every day this week.. if I dont use it I donate, bin or recycle the item.

My bedroom still looks like it did the other day as shown minus a glass of water OH has put down and left for two days.. which im going to remove as guarantee its going to be there when I come home.

I put a load of washing on every day which has meant ive no washing in the baskets when I get home from work. There's a rule OH made that every night the sink needs to be emptied and cleaned and ive stuck to that too!

Today's tasks

Empty bin in bathroom as ive decluttered a lot into it.

Look at getting a new shower curtain - needs to be a specific size as the normal shower curtains are too small!

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom

Wednesday continued: Waited 20 minutes for a bus to the P.O. ☹️, posted some birthday cards then into the P.O. to buy 100 2nd class stamps (before the price rise on the 7th) I didn’t need any 1st class as I had stocked up before the previous price rise 😮‍💨 Only had to wait 2 minutes for the bus home. I got home 5 minutes before DH Dinner was individual shop bought pies, mash & baked beans. Wudupa. Ernie was kind this month - £125 for me & £225 for DH 🥳

I took the medication as instructed - I did take some painkillers before bed as I was having a few twinges. I had a pain free sleep - heard the alarm but went back to the land of nod. My watch says that I had 10 and a half hours sleep. I did feel a bit groggy when I got up. I will take the tablets earlier tonight.

Nothing in my diary for today. I may pop out for fruit and orange juice.

I will ask J to pop by to put my bins and the cardboard/red bag out for collection on Friday morning.

I got up early yesterday as the cleaner was coming round so I put the washing on a hot wash and took things off the surfaces for her. She had to cancel as she was ill and that made me think that moving everything off the surfaces is going to get annoying as she comes every week so I got a bag and put a lot of knick knacks into it and dropped it off to the charity shop straight away.

My GP appointment was cancelled as they were also ill so I had a lie-in today. The replacement cleaner is coming today and it feels much better not having to feel like I need to declutter before she gets here.🙂

I still haven't tackled the airing cupboard. I would say we have about 5 bath towels and 5 hand towels for the two of us.

Picked up the old car today, will get that cleaned out ready to take to We Buy Any Car tomorrow morning.

Does that count as decluttering? I'm sure it does LOL.

502 - 503 2 decorating tops binned (we have a drawer full of old/ tatty/ stained clothes for decorating in and it was overflowing - 2 of the worst ones binned)

504 - 553 - 40 bulbs planted (should have gone in in Feb - oops) and 10 plants planted (bought a few weeks ago and I forgot about them - had to soak them first - they were rather dry!!)

554-555 tatty gift bag & tissue paper recycled

556 sheet face mask UU

557 - 559 another 3 cleaning item UU (only 2 replaced form stash the other will never be purchased again!)

560 - shower gel UU and replaced from stash

561 - 563 3 weird/ small coathangers binned

564 - a 'nice' cardboard box I was hanging onto for ?? - recycled

565 - 2 bins worth of rubbish and recycling retrieved from DS1's room 😠whilst he's away for a few days

566 - pair of too big and holey decorating jeans binned (as above, overflowing drawer)

567 decorative 'leather' covered storage box with handles. Used to be used a lot but not now. One handle broken and irreparable. Remaining few contents relocated elsewhere and box binned.

568 - 570 stick on body jewels which have lost some jewels in the pattern and become overly sticky (maybe 12 or 13y old?) - binned. (Few ok ones kept for maybe wearing at festivals this summer 😁😁)

I'm surprisinglynice and I have what might appear to be a strange question considering I am not a spring chicken.

Please can anyone tell me how to prepare and freeze fresh vegetables? I have never done this and I don't want to let anymore veg go to waste.
