I literally dice them up or use my veg chopper and place then into food bags and write on them what they are and chuck it straight in the freezer. I also do this with bread, I usually put two slices in a bag and into the freezer!

I had a lazy morning.
Went to Lid. for a bit of shopping.
Daughter and Grandson J called here - J did the bins for me. I was given a lovely thank you card from the woman in the office at daughter's school - for the resources I have given. Also was given 6 free range eggs.
Received an Easter card this morning.
Been mopping the floor - trying to erase all traces of dust.
J is coming here on Monday to work on the skirting boards - they need filling then there is masking off to do before he sands and paints.
Looking forward to Tuesday when my Ike. units are arriving. J is on 2 week's holiday now so will be able to help me build them.
My new sewing machine is arriving on Tuesday.
Decluttered - packaging, plastic cover, 4 magazines, wipe, 2 tissue packs and a wad of money for the laminate.

it’s dead easy: any green veg, cauliflower, parsnips, carrots I clean, cut how I’m going to use them then dunk into a pot of boiling water for approx 3 minutes then strain into a sink of very cold water. Once cooled, into bags. I like to not overfill the bag. I push the contents out flat and freeze flat, it’s easier to use just a bit then rather than it freezing into a big lump. The blanching in hot water is to stop the enzymes doing something or other.
For potatoes, I will make mash and freeze in portion sizes or I chop for roasted and toss in oil or melted lard and, again freeze in portion sizes.
Onions, celery, courgettes I dice and bag, freeze flat as well so easy to use just a bit.
Swede I peel, dice, cook, mash with butter and plenty of black pepper then freeze in portion sizesIf you prefer, there are zillions of “how to” videos on YouTube.
Today’s been a goodish one. Got all the whites dried on the lines. Now got to start on the colours but DH won’t stop putting things in the already overflowing laundry basket.
Sausages & peas from freezer, potatoes for mash from cheap Easter veg. And very nice it was too, especially as I didn’t have to make it.
Finally finished with insurers.
Photographed and listed all I needed to on eBay.
Did a few “bitty” jobs but they are out of the way now.
Got cold while I was bringing the washing in, really chilly.
Carrying on with my frugal sewing projects. Tonight I’m starting on longer length washable pads. Will be nice not to have to buy the disposable ones, plus the washable ones take up far less space. So winning on many fronts.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Evening all. Not much useful done today - don't think I can do much until after painting is finished and carpet laid next week. Then we go away for a week. I did find £15 in interest paid on an account which I wasn't expecting - every little helps. Quiz this morning was fun but I did succumb to the lure of a pile of jigsaws - two bought for £2. Thanks for my gold star Mrs SD.

Thursday was a bright sunny day with a high of 11°C, low of 6°C & a very gentle N breeze. I ended up feeling sleepy at 09:00 so went to bed & got up at 15:00 ☹️ It is a good job I wrote the shopping list before I went to bed as DH & DSis headed off at 14:00 😉 I did have to phone DH as I had forgotten to add fish & quiche for Friday’s dinner 😬
Thoroughly enjoying the conversation about how much bed linen, towels & clothing we have in our homes ☺️ Not sure I dare count 😱 I put away the shopping when DH & DSis got back at 16:15. Apparently MrS was busy & is closed Friday. DH had made a vegetable soup. I spent the rest of the afternoon & evening knitting & watching TV. Dinner was chicken fried in a little oil, boiled new potatoes & peas. Wudupa

GrannyKate, sounds like the current round of decorating is almost done & just in time for your holiday 🙏 Now that is what I call customer service ☺️ Well done on the decluttering 👏 & good luck with the quiz 🍀
Soontobeoap, a bit of clutter is a small price to pay for the company of your family of lads 🥹 Hope the walk with the dogs wasn’t as exhausting as the theme park 😉
BlueJ94, that seems fairly restrained 😉
daisy_1571, I had to laugh at This “….However, we also have 2 blue ones mr d was meant to start using but he doesn’t like them so reverted back to the falling apart now pinky-red ones.” 😂 And I fell about laughing at This “Yeah, I’m daisy and I have a towel problem” 🤣
Sleep tight 😴
