Dolly Rocker, fingers crossed for your dog and car getting better soon.xx
Green hopeful. you are right about the carpet. It will have to go in the loft. I made a decent patch in DD1's new carpet when her house rabbit dug/chewed a big hole!
dND, I think you have a happy cat there. Well done on getting that big job ticked off. I don't do that much you know. I have to have rests all the time and Mr V helps me lifting stuff.I do spend a lot of time working out a plan to make the most efficient use of my and any helps time. I have a tendency to want to flit from job to job. I have to make myself finish something before moving on. I love a list too. I batch cook which saves lots of time, so I can do the things I enjoy.
Nice floor Florenceem.
The front bedroom is finished. I am just having a rest after we put the furniture back and I will then make the beds up. Our visitors come Thursday night.
The bathroom looks massive without 2 beds in there!
Filled 1/2 a jam jar of our bedroom emulsion that was left and binned the can.
Mended a tear in Ds's coat. Taken me months to get round to it. Also sewed up a knitted patchwork blanket for DIL. The remains of the other blanket she hot washed plus some new squares. I have also knitted 3 tank tops for DGS's. There will be books to return to DS. He is determined to improve my mind! We do have some good chats about his recommendations though.
I am still decluttering as I go. I had to stop counting as I got a bit obsessed. Once the visitors have gone, I feel a sort out of linens and clothes kept upstairs coming on.

Not done a lot and its already gone 2pm. I ended up going several places this morning. Painter asked for another tin of paint which I was thankfully able to get. I dropped the two bags of stuff off at tip and then went to cancel gym membership. I was paying £68 a month and only using pool occasionally. It was good when we lived nearby and under 5s were free but GCs all aged 11-20 now and we live some way away. Went with DS2 to look at local authority pool very near to where we live now and it seemed nice and monthly membership is a fraction of the private one. Tried to cancel on line and it wouldn't work so drove over there - they said to cancel on line but I said it won't work or let me change password. They gave me some paper to write a short letter which I did there and then. They then said it had already been cancelled after the March payment was made. I said not by me as I only decided yesterday pm. They were adamant it was already cancelled and no payment would be taken tomorrow by Direct Debit. I will see what happens. Thats £90+ per month I've cancelled so far - Martin would be proud.
I need to work up enthusiam for munching frogs.

vulpix, great news that the last bedroom carpet has been fitted 👏 Hopefully the carpet off-cut won’t be in the shed too long 🤞 I think our last carpet off-cut was kept in the garage for at least 10 years so I do understand 🙊 Good luck dealing with your ‘drilling frogs’ & finding a suitable place to store your decorating items 🍀

Lovely to see you purplevamp 👋 Great decluttering 👏 I am very impressed that you have inspired your DD to sort her room, so please accept 💐 As an encouragement to your DD I am awarding her a medal 🏅 & keeping my fingers crossed that she will help you declutter around the rest of the house 🤞
Flagging now, so will come back later & do some more cheerleading. DH has spent a bit of time in the back garden - strimmed the grass (I cannot in all good conscience call it a lawn 🙊) & tidied up the clematis 👏
See you later 👋

I didn't see Grandson J today.
The other day I had a measure to see how much skirting board I would need - made it 31 metres. Looked at J's invoice - 30.3 metres so not far out.
Builder J arrived and set to bringing all his tools into the house. He said he would work until 4 and come back tomorrow to finish it off. I have asked him to hang the mirror in my bedroom too.
J had to get 5 inch skirting as they didn't have 4 inch but it hides all the yucky bits where the old was taken off.
When J left I went into town to buy stamps - there are lots in the house - somewhere! I met someone who hadn't seen me since she heard about Mr F. After talking with her - I completely forgot that I was meant to be getting cash as I had paid J for the materials - £101 and labour. I had gone to the harbour to catch a bus and didn't want to go back into town so cash will have to wait until tomorrow.
Postman brought a small parcel - 2 blouses that I had ordered - looked lovely in the photos - not so good in real life. Hope they look okay on.
My bestie popped by with 4 pictures that had come into the shop. She also brought me a Jasper Conra. coat and an Easter egg.
When J is finished I will sweep and hoover then mop the floor.
Tomorrow I will have builder J working here - blinds chap is coming for a final measure on the craft room blinds and the Ike. delivery.

Thanks for the medal and flowers Mrs SD 😊
Those three years went quicky Cranky it doesn't seem that long since he started. Does he know what he wants to do next?
I avoided doing too much today, three big bags from friends flat went to a CS shop today and one embarrassingly large bag of her medication was dropped off at the chemist. I tried to drop it off at my chemist which was also hers for decades but they wanted me to remove all the boxes and just leave the blister packs so I drove a couple of miles down the road and they just took the bag after confirming no controlled drugs or needles. At least i was able to inform her chemist the situation as they usually dropped her repeat medications off to her at home and were wondering.
I'm volunteering tomorrow so will take some more of her books in, I may take some out to lighten the load if need me some may go to the CS where i can drop off outside the door and its less hassle (I'll think about it).

Mrs SD its easy to forgive stuff like that. She didn’t mean for it to happen and did her very best to clean it. It was an easy solution and i was grateful that I had kept lots of offcuts.
I had to repair my son’s carpet in his housing association flat. My son’s cat had ripped the carpet at all the doorways. I managed to cut a piece from under a radiator where it couldn’t be seen and repair each corner. It was very cheap contract carpet in an unpleasant brown colour. After i had done it my son mentioned that once piece had the pile going the wrong way. Made me laugh because i quite literally had used every scrap of carpet and struggled with the last piece. I also had to relay the vinyl in the bathroom because his cat had had a go at that. Not much fun to do. On the inspection the housing association talked about replacing the carpet anyway. Luckily he got his deposit back.
His little cat who i totally love has destroyed all our carpets when she stays for Christmas. She is very fond of running up my curtains. Here she is in a Mexican outfit.22
