Dolly fabulous pics
Brambling sorry to hear how much work is still ahead of you but yes, its lovely to follow her wishes as much as possible but in the end some things just won't be able to go quite how she hopes. Nothing wrong with a gentle white lie/avoid the subject/change the subject here and there. I think we would all like to feel in control but we all know in the back of our minds there may come a time when we can't be and the nature of being reliant on others means they have to make some decisions that we wouldn't have done and thats ok
One thing I'd suggest, get a notebook and note down what you do with things - years after clearing my in laws house there's occasions where we ask each other where did we put that? What happened to that? In amongst the hundreds of decisions its easy to lose track.

(Also try not to worry too much about kitty, I volunteer with cats at a rescue and the vast majority of animals are brought in for that reason, older people no longer able to care for their pet or have gone into care. Id always recommend going to a rescue and not assuming they are all in because they are problem pets. Our cats aren't in for long before they go off to loving new homes. We have taken on a bonded pair of dogs, another dog and currently we have a cat we met whilst volunteering - all have been older animals, all where owners had had to go into care, but all lovely pets that we loved while with us.)

Back to work today and I'm off running - have a week of work to catch up on now LOL.
In between work and walking dogs I'll attempt to clear the kitchen counter tops - why do I continue to leave stuff lying around everywhere? Also cupboards and drawers - I always leave them open! Stupid ADHD brain honestly.
It's my nephews 13th birthday today so need to try and get some balloons and a card before I head down this afternoon to visit. They're supposed to be going into town today but with that massive fire in Union Street not sure they'll go in now. They'll maybe spend the day in Partick instead.

Lovely photos Dolly. The dogs look so happy.
A good jobs day yesterday. Not all done but particularly pleased with the kitchen which is finally presentable. I / we took the time to do a proper job and put everything that came in from the shed away in sensible places, like with like. There are about 10 part used tins of paint I will try to give away on thrift before they have to go to the tip. A few things in the bin which I can't remember now. Mr V put the ceiling shade and curtain rail back up in our bedroom. I tended a mucky mark on the curtains with a baby wipe. They would be ruined if they were washed and I am too tight to have them dry cleaned. I did every job I could to prevent the sewing of the sitting room curtains.
Today will be painting of skirting boards and other glossing in our room. First, one wall needs sanding where lots of little nail holes were filled yesterday, I can finally make a start on painting our bedroom furniture. I painted it last year with a good make of kitchen cupboard paint which claims to need no undercoat. Well it hasn't worn well at all. The furniture is going to be a light grey, hopefully a similar colour to the built in wardrobes. I MUST make myself sew the curtains today. Just so the sewing machine can go away really. It has turned into a big frog which will take minutes when I actually do it.
Take care all Vx

@daisy_1571 good idea to note down where things went. My husbands aunt is in a care home. We were taking in boxes and asking her what she wanted to do with the items. She is pretty good at deciding who to give things to. She asked for her nativity set this Christmas and I have no idea where it went. I think her sister got it but she can’t remember either.
When packing some boxes of stuff she wanted to keep I took a photo of the contents before packing so I can find them. She regularly asks for things and I would have no idea where they were otherwise. It’s quite nice going through her ornaments and deciding what she wants to do with them. We do it in small batches and I label the items as i go. We have ended up with some things in our house but it’s not too much.

Morning all. Nice to wake up to your pictures Dolly.
Not much to do today. DGCs back after school tomorrow for the rest of this week. I wish the weather was better so I could get outside. Took DS2 to Mr M - he is going to doctors again this pm - his right shoulder is very painful.
Mrs SD - re DGS4's bed. I ended up with a random collection of furniture which we bought here. This was a metal day bed with a trundle initially in my study at old house as a temporary bed which then came into permanent use for 2 years. It is really too bulky for bedroom 3 here and we decided a single storage ottoman would be a better plan. I'll try to sell it before next week but will have to dismantle before the plasterer comes. I basically review furniture as each room is finished and decide what can stay and what can go. I have mostly bought new stuff which fits better but not spent a lot of money. Lounge is a bit of a graveyard of what is left over as that will be the last room apart from bathroom. I do like colourful schemes - nothing too bright but can't do with the idea of magnolia all through. bedroom 1 is shades of brown and beige with rust and dark red accents; bedroom 2 is more pinky beige and cream bedroom 3 will be grey walls and carpet with yellow touches (DGS4 loves yellow) and kitchen diner is sage green with cream units. I can't decide on bathroom or lounge yet.
279 Joggers in bin - I was trying to do gardening in them but they kept falling down so I went in, changed into another old pair and binned them there and then.
280 DGS4 reported his lamp broken (Glass dome) think he probably knocked it over as temporaily on a chair but it was only cheap - thrown away but I retrieved the bulb as that cost as much as the lamp itself.

I had a lot of time to think while I was away and I have made a few decisions about my life going forward.
I am quite bruised as I fell off the bed at one of the hotels last week so I had to cancel my class for tomorrow and I will cancel my class tonight too.🙄
While I was away I thought I should go through my hot drinks cupboard as they are overflowing. I have looked and three of the first jars I took out need using up by April this year so it was lucky I checked.
I need to do some serious decluttering but today is off as I have taken some pain medication so I will be groggy all day.
I will make myself a hot drink now.😋

That sounds very intriguing- feel free to share as and when, or not at all of course. Good luck with it either way and hopefully your aches and pains clear up soon - although falling off the bed sounds quite intriguing too 😆 🤣 😂
