TC, that's great, taking everything with you like the Pharaohs.😂 Sobering though.
Happy birthday Greent.xx
Mrs SD, you know me so well! New paint bought, I think even darker than British racing green. Time will tell if it will be ok. I like my dalliance with dark walls so much with the dried peat in the front bedroom.I seem to have moved on from my magnolia phase which tbh lasted about 45 years.Though I went mad about 30 years ago and painted the dining room pink. I would love to see the Bayeux tapestry. I imagine it will be incredibly popular.
Jumping on the bin topic, My LA is planning to charge for green waste this year. We only have one of those half bins and it is never full. Time to have a compost heap me thinks. As for waste food, I don't know what that is! 🤣 In the rare event we have any scraps it goes to the birds. They like everything but onion and carrot.
Lovely kitchen and perfect blind Florenceem. In my last kitchen but one I didn't have wall cupboards, I loved it, it looked so much more sleek. Last kitchen I had wall cupboards to make the most of the small space.I am short so can only reach the bottom shelf. My next kitchen I plan to have floor to ceiling cupboards at one end and just bottom cupboards at the other. A long way off. A wall needs knocking out first and the back door bricking up.
regnbue, well all I can say is I am sorry but glad everything is ok.x
Willowtree, yikes. Good on you for smelling a rat. My bank is pushing me to have my account on my phone. I don't want to, even though the actual banks are very few and far between. I do have internet banking and that is enough for me.
Granny Kate, I had a microwave go rusty under the plate. It looks a mess and I don't know why it happens on some and not other machines.
A day of jobs for me. A good tidy round as a friend who hasn't been to this house is coming. She will have to have the grand tour obv. I have some little nail holes to fill in the wall in our room. I want to wash the new side table and give it some polish. Mess in the kitchen is a priority. How many tins of half used paint does a body need? I would like but not hopeful of achieving is to sew the sitting room curtains and start painting our bedroom furniture.
Vx

Morning everyone
@Willowtree222 gosh that was scary, so glad you didn't lose anything. I heard on R4 about someone who lost about £300k I think, due to a scam.
@Florenceem love your kitchen!
I'm also a fan of colour, my bathroom used to be sumptious plum but is now dark navy and my living/dining room is navy and green. My kitchen is boring cream so I need to address that !
Today I have cleaned the fridge out and had to throw some OOD food into the food waste bin, deleted more emails too …
Love Deni

Good Morning chums I have just read through about 20 odd pages and my goodness things have been busy
Thank you suzeesu2000 for giving me a nudge, and to all the folk, bless you I am still alive and kicking :)
I have been really busy trying to get stuff sorted as DD and I are going to the mainland in Kent to see family on the 20th of this month for a long weekend.
Its my eldest DGD's 33rd birthday this Tuesday, and her eldest's Erin's eighth birthday this month as well.
Plus my U3A are getting sorted out with a new group for Genealogy which starts this month as well :)
I finished off the throw for eldest DD for her caravan in Deal (she is in New York at the moment coming back late tomorrow night after visiting DGS and his wife and DGGD Daisy for their spring break). I have made the throw for her, and also knitted a cushion cover for her to use when she is down there as she likes to sit with her Kindle on sunny days outside, and like me sufferes with arthritis so back aches abound
The two DGS Ben and Jack enjoyed their few days over here, and I was chauffeuring them all over the place. DD and I and the boys went into the Monkton Cafe which is in Ryde, and DGS Ben seranaded us with his piano playing to the delight of his Mum.
He only really got interested just before Christmas as he has his late Granddads keybaord at his house in London, and started picking out bits on it during the winter when the weather was bad He says its relaxing after a days teaching Year Five children :) although he loves his job.
The boys eventually went back home to their busy lives, and we had peace once more indoors.
A few odd days of sunshine got the stuff growing in the garden, but we really do need some dry weather before the grass can be cut
DGS Ben will be back for a couple of weeks at Easter so fingers crossed it will be drier by then.
DD and my son-in-law went to dinner at their friends house in Ryde and took their dogs wirth them as usual and their friends have a couple of cats .
Normally they are kept well away from each other .But one cat managed to get into the main part of the house .
Stan the greyhound, being a friendly chap went to have a look as he's never been near a cat before, and I think wasn't sure what it was .
Bearing in mind he is a tall lad, and soft as butter he tried to make friends by giving her a sniff
This iron lady wasn't having it though, and gave him a firm swipe across his long nose and cut it, and he ran for his life being chased by a cat :)
Poor Stan fancy getting beaten up by a cat :) a fraction of his size :) He came home looking very woebegone and
embarrassedand I doubt he will ever go near a cat again :)So its been quite hectic for a couple of weeks. tonight I'm off to a U3A quiz at Wootton, then tomorrow afternoon its cribbage at Newport.
Wednesday its Stitch and !!!!!! at Ryde, and Thursday its the monthly talk at Newport with U3A. I should really be going to the U3A coffee morning tomorrow morning at Yarmouth but I don't think I can fit it in :)
Not much decluttetring done apart from some garden waste. As we pay to have our garden waste removed and it was due for renewal I looked on the site and have changed it from once a fortnight to once every four weeks as sometimes its not really required.
Saved myself £25 as well which will pay for my U3A renewals , so win-win
Very worrying about the world news at the moment , I think petrol will start getting more expensive and that in turn will raise food prices, especially here as unless its fresh, most supplies are ferried over from the mainalnd
Oh well we have survived worse, I expect its just another thing to consider when stocking up in the supermarkets. Hopefully folk won't go as dotty as they did in Lockdown
Glad all seems to be doing well
Onwards and upwards chums

Sunday is a dull overcast day with a forecast high of 12°C (feeling 2° cooler due to E wind) & a low of 7°C Currently no rain forecast 🤞 Nothing planned for today so I might write up a few more birthday cards 🤔
Excellent decluttering greent 👏 Great progress towards all 3 targets 😊 Belated Happy Birthday 🥳 🎂 I hope you had a lovely time & also got more than socks as presents 🤞
TC77, DD1 is such a comedian 😉 Good luck with organising the kitchen & dining room 🍀
Excellent work on the paper pile & nudging the frog oceanspirit 👏 Pleased to hear that you had a lovely time ☺️
GrannyKate, I imagine you have had a lovely time with DGS4 ☺️ with the added bonus that he has helped declutter cupboard, fridge & freezer 🙊 although I am surprised to hear that you are selling his bed 😂 Great work in the garden & greenhouse yesterday 👏 I am also surprised that your US sister & niece were able to see the Declaration of Independence as I wouldn’t put it past a certain person to have closed the building for renovations 😬
Floss, I will mention it the next time I see him ☺️ Thank you 👏
Lovely post vulpix ☺️ When I read This “My bank is pushing me to have my account on my phone. I don’t want to………” the cynical part of my brain imagined the bank in league with the scammers 😢 Well done you for refusing 👏 Good luck with your “little jobs” 🍀
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, I am never brave enough to decorate with bold colours 😔 although DH & I did move away from magnolia a long time ago 😅
London_1, so lovely to see you 😊 I had figured that you were keeping busy so that posting here was not high on your list 😂 Sounds like the boys had a great time despite the weather ☺️ Is there no end to your DGS’s talents 🥹 So pleased that your DD managed to visit her son & family in New York 🥹 I imagine young Daisy is growing like a weed ☺️ Poor Stan 🥺 I do hope he is fully healed now 🙏 What is more worrying than the world news is that a certain person is still in charge & no-one seems able or willing to stop him 😢 Again it is lovely to see you 😊
Hope you all have as good a day as possible & please remember the TLC Carriage is open 😊 Sending gentle cwtches to anyone who would like one 🤗

Afternoon all. I have got a stinking cold which I’m very miffed about as I have things to do but feel like death warmed up.
Didn’t have to cook today as I made a big chicken stew on Thursday, with tons of lovely veggies, and loads left over. Thank goodness.
Tomorrow is a busy day, have a decent amount of laundry including some new night dresses bought for mum. Plus it’s my monthly Pay-all-the-bills-day.
I did manage to clear the mess of weeds and dead things around the ring step during the week and does look so much better. The coir mat outside has to be binned as it’s growing things, seriously there are little shoots all over it.
On a good note: I did something on the internet and was charged the princely sum of 10p. Seems daft but, for what I was doing, it made sense. However, when I checked on PayPal, they had actually charged me for an annual subscription of £50. Got straight on to PayPal and, pleased to say, money has been refunded this morning.
Bit concerning to see the UK only has 3 days of gas supplies……and, As JackieO says, anything not fresh has to be brought to the island on the ferry. A few years ago, the powers that be announced that, if the SHTF, we would have supplies for approx 3 days🙀🙀reasons why I keep my pantry shelves well stocked.
Hope everyone’s day is cooperating, be good xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

greent - I am low on iron and Vitamin D so on tablets.
TC77 - My loft was heaving - J got it all down. A few items went to the charity shop and the rest were cleared as rubbish. Just a few lidded boxes of fabric up there now.
Went to my bestie's corps today. This afternoon I went to a corps council meeting at the one round the corner. Next week my bestie is not going to Church as her daughter had invited her to a local wildlife park I will attend my old corps for the first time since December 21. They are having tables and chairs at a youth led service so I won't be thinking about the usual seats where Mr F and I sat each week.
I gave my bestie my Mil's jewellery - turns out there was a gold bracelet which the owner of the auction house bought for £400!

Hello all,
Back from my week away, it was absolutely lovely and I shall post some of my fave pics from the week.
My friend came down for the weekend then my mum came from Thursday to Saturday which was nice.
Read 2 books and used up 2 candles that I took from home with me so continued to declutter even when on holiday.
The thread has been very busy! Lots of hugs to all.

Deleted a lot of emails.
Sorted and decluttered one drawer. It is the tools and misc drawer so always has lots of stuff dumped in it. Sorted and things moved to their rightful place.
Lots of items binned as well.
