I watched a mini series on u tube of a couple who buy a massive house and the seller left everything! They were extremely motivated to declutter and also had some great finds. I’m addicted @ expedition rove - look them up if you’re interested!
LO and I emptied half of the kitchen cupboards this morning cleaned and reorganised - not much to declutter but genuinely feel it’s much easier keeping on top of the cleaning now and dare I say it were even enjoying it.20 -
Decluttered today - plastic folder x 2, paper folder, ring binder, CD x 2, glasses cleaning wipe, packaging, paperwork, headed paper, wipes & packet and paper.

Hello all xx
Been a while since I last posted and not much has gone out. Made some tomato soup yesterday with a huge glut of tomatoes I received. Very tasty.
Also had to get a new printer, well I didn't but the ink ran out again and it costs around £35 to get a set of four. So I used my remaining Amazon vouchers and some money that I'll save from the Council Tax-free month and bought an eco tank. The ink is meant to last up to 3 years plus I have another set of inks that my dad gave me with the eco tank he gave me a couple of years ago, but this was turned into a sublimation printer.
Decluttering effort:-
30 - Hot Cross Buns to work
31 - Junk mail
32 - Old door curtain pole (binned)
33-34 - 4 x old toys and packaging box (etsy)
Not liking the new look comment box. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

Thank you for my gold star⭐️Mrs SD
@Dizzycap DS2 would love a dachshund , so thank you for your babyface updates. I’m not sure if it’s helping with the decision! Cookie would be very annoyed I think but maybe less so with a smaller dog.
@GrannyKate pleased to see you have a puzzle assistant , Cookie isn’t allowed to ‘help’ anymore as she likes to eat the pieces.
No decluttering today, DH went to Manchester to watch the football and was away all day, so I took the children to the cinema with a friend and her daughter and we all met my Dad for dinner.
I have some big frogs to deal with this week both for me and my Dad. My Blue Badge runs out in less than six weeks and I really need to submit the renewal and probate and sorting out my Mum’s estate has become quite complicated, so I need to put a spreadsheet together for my Uncle so we can try and sort the difficult bits out.
The downstairs toilet is being replaced on Thursday and Friday and I need to sort out the bits in there before the plumber comes to do that.
Love to everyone xxx

Sunday: February has started with rain & I am just hoping that is not a sign 🤞 The forecast is for a high of 9°C (feeling just 1°cooler due to a S wind) & a low of 6°C It rained on & off all day with the heaviest rain at about 20:30. After yesterday’s bit of activity I reverted to my slothful self & spent the day napping & knitting. I might just have to start my own group ‘Knit & Napper’ 🙊 I have finished another hat - child sized. Dinner was rump steak (cooked by DH) with dauphinois potatoes & green beans 😋 Wudupa

Dizzycap nice to see you 👋 Great work keeping up with the daily HH tasks & finishing your sleigh project especially with Babyface ‘helping’ 👏😊 Also well done on planting all your bulbs - hopefully they will all bloom in various shades of pink - just for Babyface 🤭
Brie, loved your HUFF 😂
florianatwobob I rather like yours as well 😂

Florenceem, letter J is obviously a popular letter 😉 Good luck with your paperwork sorting 🍀
Good luck with your frogs & emails TC77 🍀
GrannyKate, pleased to hear that DS2 & family are safely home 😊 Great work
finishing the wallpaper stripping 👏 Thank you so much for the photo of Sox catching the mouse in the jigsaw 😊 The titles of the books caught my eye - very, very clever 🤩 I especially liked “Purrsuasion” 🤭
D123456789, sounds very interesting 🤔 I am thinking that it is probably easier to declutter other people’s stuff as there is no emotional attachment 🧐 Great work by you & LO 👏 I love that you are so on top of the cleaning that you are now enjoying it 🥳
Great decluttering Florenceem 👏 Sounds like you are making great inroads with the office contents 😊
Great decluttering TC77 👏 & well done dealing with a frog 😊

Good morning chums, boy did it rain last night Lots of roads flooded on the Island .
I'm off to play Cribbage at Newport at lunchtime, but I will be taking the bus as I don't want to get stuck in flooded roads and the bus will get through better than a car.
Re the NHS hearing aids I have been wearing them for 15 years, and have one in each ear and can honestly say they are brilliant they get updated as new technology comes out and the ones I presently wear are brilliant.
Recycling blindness seems to be universal for men, my son -in-law just sort of piles it up in the recycling bin in the kitchen then I end up having to flatten out boxes to put in the main bins that the council collects fortnightly.
I love my son-in-law, as he is a dear chap but has a 'blindness when it comes to recycling here :)
I think its because in Kent the council would supply us with large plastic bags which you could fill and often had several filled for collection weekly so he never really thought about flattening the boxes.
Here its once a fortnight and our bin gets pretty full pretty quickly.
He also has a slight problem loading the dishwasher in that things get put in there higgdly -piggdly. I stack it carefully to ensure we get the maximum stuff in for a wash He would stick a couple of saucepans in and maybe two or three cups and wash them !!! But then I am a fairly organised person and like things to be neat. My DD says she thinks I have a bit of OCD which is probably right but I have always been neat andhate being disorganised and I suppose having lived on my own for 22 years after losing my late OH I just got used to being tidy ,where as DD and son-in-law have raised five children and are a lot less tidy than I am. We don't fall out about it though we compromise I keep my sitting room and bedrrom how I like it, and they keep their part of the house as they like it. I do keep the kitchen pretty neat though :)
The rain has returned and its chucking down here :( roll on the spring . I have some bits to drop off in the CS in newport at lunchtime so I will get an earlier bus I think
Keep warm and dry chums if you can

Good morning good people,
My January decluttering total was 120 things. It is starting to slow down a bit. I'm not sure if it's because I have less time or there's just less stuff. Looking at the downstairs book cupboard leads me to believe it's the "less time" option. Ds has an old ripped coat that needs flinging - I've just asked him what he did with it at the weekend when I told him to leave it in my room to be disposed of. He hung it up of course. How can he hang the one thing that needs chucking and leave everything else on the floor?
I do like your hats Mrs S_D. I'm making a rainbow blanket in crochet. I've nearly finished the blanket then I need to do the border. I go to knit and natter every other week and the place where it's held is a bit chilly so a blanket seemed like a good idea - it can keep me warm while I'm making it 😁
@Dizzycap I'm looking forward to seeing the sleigh next Christmas
I need to go and help ds with some uni work now. Take care all of you 😊

Monday is dull & overcast. It has rained although it is currently dry. The forecast is for a high of 8°C (feeling 3° colder due to E wind) & low of 6°C I was up at 09:30 but am in my dressing gown whilst I have my first cuppa. The new text editor is getting me down - takes so much longer to do anything hence my rather sparse replies 😔 Gers (Daily Thread) kindly posted a link to report issues which I duly investigated & it is even more difficult to understand than the How To Guide ☹️ I don’t have a degree in computer terminology & still cannot understand why anyone would change something that worked perfectly well 😭 Obviously my notion of intuitive is completely different from whoever implemented the change 😢 I did have a different comment planned but didn’t want to get banned 😉
London_1, yikes to all the rain 😟 Fingers crossed that the flooding abates before there is any more rain 🤞 I am enjoying the current conversation about ‘blind spots’ especially as it is tempered by praise for our menfolk’s good points 😅 The dish washer loading is completely different in DH’s niece S’s home - her husband is the one who uses every square inch of space 👏😊
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 👏 120 items gone should definitely make a difference 😊 & is worthy of a medal 🏅 As to your two options “less time or less stuff” I think it is probably a combination of both ☺️ with an add hotspot of clutter 😉 As you like my hats, here is a picture of the latest one I completed
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible, that all our poorlies are on the mend & that all our Declutterati family stay safe, dry & warm 🥹

Morning all. Dry at the moment but it looks like it will rain even if only drizzle. I am going to try an stay in and get the frogs eaten and finish that puzzle. Sox keeps pushing loose bits on the floor. I did quite a lot last night so not many pieces to go. I need to contact plasterer and electrician. I may just walk to the post box on the corner as I have a second overseas birthday card to do for February. Post there is worse than ours Dsis says some Christmas cards from UK have taken 6 weeks to arrive. I started buying March cards as there are 6 mostly in the first week. I probably also need to post my sister's anniversary card for first week of April by first week of March.
Forgot to post this. Puzzle finished. Put away and in bag for DD to take.
