You might try double sided tape or attaching balloons where she wants to scratch or chew. Balloons are a bit woo-woo (iykwim) to a cat so some tend to avoid them. Those that don't avoid them get rewarded with a big bang when they try to scratch them.

@DawnW its lovely when you pass something on and the person is chuffed and you know its going somewhere it will be usef.
Came home last night to the house in darkness ( I leave the hall light on and timers for another room). Red had tripped and despite unplugging everything not working. Hoping electrian will come tomorrow. Extension on a different circuit so despite no heating/ hot water and no broadband my home emergency won't cover it and most of the house in darkness. Can't watch my dramas so looked out my dad's dvd library that I brought home and dvd player and watching last century french comedy. Also found some i don't want but as home recorded not sure I can do anything with them.
Decluttering on hold!

@Liverpool_Anne, you might find the Sliced Bread podcast on Hearing aids helpful in deciding whether to wait for an NHS set or spending money on a private set (cue - they are positive about NHS ones).
@daisy_1571 @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I heard that the favourites book has repeats of recipes in from the other books, so if you have them, then it's not worth getting the favourites book
@TC77 hope you got the electrics sorted out today
I've been doing long hours at work, so no real decluttering has taken place, but I met two different friends in town today, which was unusual and lovely.

Thank you for garden ideas. I like all those plants Floss. There is crocosmia galore here. Front to back of house is a raised path. All along it is a rockery which is ablaze in late summer with orange crocosmia. I quite fancy some Lucifer in contrast. Dnd, I am with you , no thorns with perhaps the exception of a rose or two.
Liverpool Anne, yes absolutely for the rose, It sounds like one I had growing outside my bedroom window as a child.
Floriana, lovely choices. I think peonies are one of my absolute favourite plants. I will of course need everyone to remind me again when I am ready to plant a garden. I am still thinking about the layout but have decided on Pink and purple.
Decluttered 3 knitted kids jumpers and 6 hats to DIL for GC and her friends children. The friends will regret liking DGC's jumpers cos I will knit some for the friends DC now too.
I posted some of the previous persons garden stuff on thrift. Should be collected tomorrow. I planted all the bulbs we had been given, bags of em. I don't know how well they will do as they should have been planted ages ago ideally.

Mrs SD thank you for DS1’s medal and for mine and DH’s gold stars.
I’m sorry to hear about your son, I hope you are doing okay.
I’ve slowed down quite a bit on the decluttering front, I’m not feeling fantastic and this week has been taken up with a busted car and a busted cat. Car is still not fixed and continues to declutter a significant amount of money but Cookie had an operation on Thursday to remove a polyp from her nose and came home on Friday evening no longer sounding like a motorbike and is feeling much better. She is sleeping with DD to make sure I understand how cross she is about the whole thing.
Whilst I was at work today, DH sorted more boxes with DS2 and DD and I went through the get rid of pile when I got home, I’ll account for that when they leave the house.
2 bags of stuff from the boxes went straight in the bin or in the recycling, on the local freebies site 4.5 bags in total, including a bread maker, some rucksacks and books.
My new total is 52.5/208
From my Dad’s, on the local freebies site, mainly kitchen things, 1.5 bags, so my Dad’s new total is 50.5/104
Love to everyone xxx

May I huff please? MEN! HUFF!!!
Told OH that I would cook dinner if he would put out the recycling. We have a big bin outside the kitchen door and when it's getting full it gets emptied into the proper recycling bin that the council empties every other week. Well the one outside the kitchen door is so full that stuff is overflowing on to the ground. When I mentioned this to OH he said yes, he was aware. So WHY didn't he do anything about it??? grrrrrrr Huff! It's the same with the garbage bin, he'll keep jamming things in until the bag rips rather than empty it as it becomes full.
