@vulpix how about some crocosmia for your hot garden, along with red hot pokers? Then for the pinks / purples, look at traditional cottage gardens for inspiration - climbing scented roses, lupins, hollyhocks, delphiniums, roses, and aquilegia & cornflowers (both self seeding).
@mehefin why not donate them to St Fagan's? I think they sound like working aprons so they may be able to use them!

Thinking of you and your son, @jivjules1 xx
Your garden plans are exciting, @vulpix !
Photo decluttering is ongoing here, but I'm hampered by the fact that I have to remove at least 4 sticky squares of old double-sided tape (which was the "in" thing for photo albums in those days) from the back of each photo in the album I'm working on at present. I'm also in the middle of baking a lot of cakes: 3 for DH's birthday tomorrow (they will be shared at the wargamers' and model railway enthusiasts' meetings tonight and on Tuesday); 2 for my goddaughter's birthday on Sunday; and 5 or 6 (or even more, if I make some vegan and gluten-free) for refreshments after a big service at my church next Sunday. Great fun to do, but very time-consuming.

it may be the last working day of the month but I’m sure it took a week! January does seem to go on forever…..
I will catch up properly over the weekend. Jab day today and I am really looking forward to the sleep.
Just decluttered a bacon and sausage baguette and had to show Rogan that yes, mum is a greedy person as I ate ALL of it!!!!!

I've finally decluttered the last 4 plants, a pair of slippers that I'd worn out and some other bits I can't remember what they are.
I will be replacing the slippers though, as the fluffy socks aren't keeping my feet warm enough and are annoying me at times
I've managed to finally have a go at cleaning the kitchen window today. Not the biggest window, but awkward as I'm on the 1st floor and the kitchen sink is underneath it.
I've also finally managed to clean the outside of the oven and the space around it this morning.
I've also tidied up 1 kitchen counter and managed to finally clear another corner of a kitchen counter, put some stuff in the composter and did a little shredding.
I'm hoping to keep chipping away at decluttering and tidying.
I've also listed 2 items on the recycle watsapp, both have been claimed.
So Sunday they will be taken with the art stuff for people who wanted them. I will have to double check with the people they will be at church.
Also did a load of washing and put it on airers on the balcony.

As my sister gave me a few craft bits to make xmas cards, instead of leaving them in a drawer to be used at some point, I simply made a load of cards for the card box. I also started going through the craft drawer with the aim of using up some bits or asking whether I will ever use them. It was basically all free from a few Buy Nothing bundles, or family and so there are often bits and pieces that need to be weeded out. I make all my own cards, but don't use many materials making them and don't send loads either, so trying to dwindle the supplies down.
It all fits into this years theme of using what I have.

Everyone should know that there are 15 months in a year and three of them are January!
Been a bit bleugh lately so GP upped one of my meds which made me feel quite revolting yesterday. It was a horrid day where everything that could go wrong did, culminating in my spilling a glass of juice all over a fresh made sponge cake which could not be salvaged. I was glad when bedtime came around.Doing really well eating out of the freezer, I have a tiny bit of space and can almost see a shelf. Finally managed to get signed on with an NHS dentist in the village which is so much better than having to go all the way to Cowes.
DH sorted all his jeans out today so I have a nice pile to go under the bed. Don’t want to get rid as they are still good and fit well. Also have a big radio thing and a couple of other bits to list over the weekend. Hopefully.
I don’t recall doing any major decluttering but our recycling bin is chokka so I must have been clearing something out, unless the elves did it while I was asleep?

I went and got my new glasses this morning and decluttered old pairs, had my hair done and then afternoon buffet with music. I remembered to get some cash and left car at the makeshift car cleaning place opposite the church hall where I was this afternoon. They did an excellent full valet and only charged me £25 (I was expecting to pay £60).

@jivjules1 Sending love to you both.
@mehefin Thank you for that idea. 😁
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger The garden is such a tip! I live in hope that it will look like a garden one day soon though. 🤣
@vulpix My thoughts on the garden would be to check that they like the sun - right plant, right place as they say, along with how good they are for pollinators and then I would seriously consider just how much of a thug they are; how much they seed around the place; and just how prickly/thorny they are. I've decided I want an easy life in my dotage: I don't want anything that fights back. 🤣
I have a garden that is overrun with crocosmia. It's a lovely plant but it was left to go mad here so I'm pulling it up by the bag full each year, the same with the Spanish bluebells, the Bergenia, the hardy geraniums….. the list goes on and on. 🤣🤣Dxx

@jivjules1 - hope your son shows improvement quickly.
Tried to get lots done today. I emptied and cleaned the two medicine shelves - condensed into one. Second shelf now holds water jug filters and space for any cleaning items as needed.
Cleaned and sorted the big cupboard in the utility area of the garage. Put some bits on Freegle and some is going to the SA charity shop. My daughter called by after school to collect a bowl for the mud kitchen.
I popped to SA to tell C about COL plans.
Got a bus to Lid. - couldn't make my mind up between two ice cream tubs so I got both.
Carried on with sorting paperwork.
Had a long chat with my bestie about next Friday.
