mehefin - thank you for the encouraging words.
J came today and sorted out the remaining alley and the back garden - he did a wonderful job - it looks much bigger without all the brambles growing over it. The paving slabs are dirty - J said they need a power wash - cue J helping me to buy a power washer.
Builder arrived and fitted the first gate - he has done a great job. Builder then installed the smaller other alley gate - I am really pleased with them - made to measure so not cheap but worth it.
I had a day indoors as the work was being done.
I cleaned a bit of the garage by the door. Found empty boxes which J collapsed and tore up into an empty cardboard box ready for collection.
The bags that J filled are being taken to the tip tomorrow by my friend R.
I have booked a collection by the council of the chest freezer.

@Florenceem it sounds like J is being very efficient with his help.
I'm reporting the decluttering of 2 kitchen sink wastes, all the pipework under the sink between those and the external waste, and around £50 in parts 😊 plus 2 broken nails, a pair of Marigolds and a fatally stained Sunday teatowel that is at least 25 years old!
I've also turfed out 4 part-used tins of paint to go to the tip - a change of colours has made the old ones redundant. The decorators will be paid tomorrow & photos will follow when I've put everything back 😁

@daisy_1571 The builders bags were covered in mud plus my local tip doesn't take wood so it's a major expedition to my son's tip and needs his presence. The last run I did, I had tarpaulins down and blankets and padding but the interior of the car still ended up a tip with marks on the fabric too. If it dries a bit I'm hoping it won't make such a mess. It also needs to dry a bit so I can cut it up - wet wood doesn't cut very well. I still need my DS1 to have the time off to come over. 😁
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Thank you so much for my medal. 😁😁
I too don't like the lack of being able to cut down quotes. I guess it will be back to old school and using cut and paste from the original post.
It's been a lovely day here in S Wales so I got myself into the garden and all the chairs, ladders and general wooden detritus, apart from one heavy cupboard that I can't move, has been moved to to garage of the front of the house. I think it might be 2 estate car loads. 😱
Boyed up with that success I evicted a couple of large clumps of tussock grass that's a nightmare in the garden. I know that we're all supposed to "plant grasses in the garden" now according to all the gardening programmes but I really don't like them. I'm also aiming to almost eliminate lawns from my garden. I think of them as green deserts and would rather have something else that's more wildlife friendly.
Once the tussock clumps were out I was able to start moving some hellebores into their place which will in turn allow me to put a small wildlife pond where the hellebores are currently.
I eventually want a larger pond at the bottom of the garden where all the wood was - it's very boggy at the moment so an ideal place for a pond.I am pleased with how well my back stood up to the carrying and digging. Hopefully I will feel the same tomorrow 🤣 but tomorrow will be a light day anyway as it's the knitting club day and I'm going to go back.
@Liverpool_Anne I may have got the wrong end of the stick but it's now just hit the enter key to start a new paragraph. If you want to just start a new line, use Shift + Enter - on a computer that is I haven't looked at how to do it on my phone.
I'm currently clockwatching. I decided to do the 'reduce power' hour that my energy supplier does. So I'm currently sitting with just 2 candles for light, (although I do still have the grow light on for my seedlings), working on my laptop using the battery. Oh, and I've switched the central heating off too. I'm ready for my supper but that too is going to have to wait until the hour is up. 🤣
I've just spotted this
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6635222/rich-editor-help-guide/p1I think I might just use the next 10 mins or so and have a read.
Well done everyone and love to you all. Dxx

@floss looking forward to seeing the photos. I remember some lovely use of colour in your home.
Yippee - tax form submitted.
Have mislaid the one item I've sold. Spoke to buyer if they want a refund or give me time to see if I can find! - they've asked me to keep looking.
Off to pilates and tomorrow work then my dad's so won't be anything until the weekend.
Forgot I have deleted a further 600 emails but if I have over 30k think this will be a mammoth task.
I'm earmarking 2027 to be for photos and sentimental items….

Stacked in my porch are donations for my friend's SA charity shop. I found a container of vintage items in the garage - 1930's mesh handbag, a 1950's compact, a pack of 1939 playing cards from the American Red Cross and a pocket watch plus other bits. Mr F was going to take stuff to auction but it never happened. I also found a 1937 coronation book and a 1953 book of music from the Queen's coronation. Vintage items are taken to auction by one of the shop volunteers.
Decluttered today - newspapers, plastic folder, black sacks, paperwork, notebooks, bag of clothes, shoes , jewellery,3 plastic covers, a blind, a painting, plastic inserts, metal bits, 5 plastic tubs and 6 lids, weeds, brambles, ivy, a stollen cake bar and lots of cash.

@dND "I eventually want a larger pond at the bottom of the garden where all the wood was - it's very boggy at the moment so an ideal place for a pond"
I have a boggy patch in my garden and I put a Kilmarnock willow in there - weeping willow grafted onto dwarf rootstock - which is very happy!

Inspired by people going through cupboards, I turfed out all the part-empty jars of pesto and spice / curry pastes from the fridge (the contents going into the bin for the collection this morning). Some were embarrassingly mouldy!

Hi all, ok day today, went for a hearing test as OH tells me I am dead 😂. Saw a hearing heath technician who tells me I have minor hearing loss but has booked me in for an appointment with an audiologist on Friday. I am falling to bits 😂. While there I dropped off 20 blister packs but I have since found some more so they can go on Friday.
1 item in the cs bag but won't count until it is out of the house. 2 sessions of ironing and the lr bin emptied before I went out to the footy 😁.
@dND I use my kindle so a different type of keyboard but I am sure I'll find a way around it at some point 😂. What are you planning to replace the lawn with? Just being nosy 😂.
Right off to bed now, must pop to the bank tomorrow but apart from that nothing planned yet but hoping to get something done 😂. Hugs to everyone who would like one
154 & 155 blister packs
156 & 157 ironing
158 lr bin
Take care everyone
