    thank you XX

I just need a solution to the hall carpet (moth eaten - so mortifiying!) even if it is temporary. They are everywhere but upstairs I will do floorboards and carpet tiles and the rest of downstairs . Eventually I will do laminate downstairs but until then I can hide the marks in the living room with furniture and rugs (!) but the hall is awful.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Good plan! Start with the hall, rip it all out, clean and sweep, things will progress from there.
It’s so difficult when you’re feeling so overwhelmed to break through it, but you have.
You’ve identified the best place, as every room and door opens onto it. It’s the smallest and will make the most impact. Well done!

    Good evening,

Well I was super ill yesterday but felt much better today - still slept loads - two hour nap after not sleeping last night.

I had cereal, bananas on toast and the white fish and french fries (not totally low fat - the french fries but near enough - about 7% fat)

I am feeling quite overwhelmed on a personal level. The house is stressing me out and the garden too. My friend was quite rude and joked that I am hoarder. And I hate that. I know I have a lot of stuff now. I am aware. It isn't all mine - I mean it is now! but it is exhausting to live here. And although I am VERY much aware I need to get rid of stuff it really is very constantly upsetting. I can't really explain it.

Any how am bored of talking about it and feeling judged and bad and BLAH BLAH BLAH

I opened an account to put in over payments for the loan. I also opened an ISA - cash for "retirement" which I currently pay 25 quid into! but will pay in over winter. Also paid off my CCs - minor spends but won't let them build up this month!

It is 10.20 I have no plans over the weekend. Well THE HOUSE but I know how that goes. I should go to the tip and the charity shop.

I will keep you posted. X

    Nevertheless she persisted.

as beanie said, despite my house still not being fully decluttered. Can you just start with one space and make it somewhere you can retreat to? I’m not saying you’d get it done in one go but I find that if I blitz somewhere, it helps me see how what’s left can be addressed. Also, commit to stopping an hour before the charity shop / recycling centre closes and get rid of even a small load each day.

Is there anyone that can help by clearing stuff for you? I know when my Mum died, Dad wanted everything gone very quickly, he couldn’t bear to see it or sort it so I did it for him. It’s easier for someone else to be objective and less emotionally charged by memories. It was far easier for me to start with clothes and toiletries, all the clothes got bagged up and dropped at a textile recycling bin. All unopened toiletries went to the food bank box at the supermarket, all open stuff got emptied and recycled - once that was all clear it was easier to move on to all of the hobby and craft stuff. I left Dad to sort jewellery as I didn’t know what any of it was in terms of worth anything/sentimental to him.

Just remember that memories don’t need to have a possession attached, you’ll never forget the little things and you deserve to be happy, that means being free of the “hoarder” guilt.

Now we’re back down south, I’d happily jump on a train and come and help you for a few days.

You’re going to have to tackle it a bit at a time so it’s not so overwhelming, you’ll get there eventually. Hope you manage to get some rest this weekend.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

Not ideal but could you box it all up and then put in one room or area. That way you can to through one box at a time and as you unpack it you can find a home for things you want to keep.

    Debts

    Nationwide Loan - £9108.12/£11,000

    Credit Card - £4033.28/£3623.18

Dad Loan £7,000/£7000 - Payments on hold

    Savings

    Emergency Fund - £1000/£1000
