Today's Money saving "thing" was sort out a vague budget for January. I say vague as I know I am starting with not enough. I need to pay for car insurance and MOT. In ye olde days I did used to save for it or at least some of it. Due to how everything went I haven't - I did save for the rabbit insurance (never get pet rabbits EVER) but couldn't manage to do both.
Had to take the dog to the vets. It was about 85 quid in the end. Plus 35 on hay for 6 weeks. Scores on the doors are

    Little CC £261
    Big CC £7285 (0% till June 2026)

My plan such as it is to try and stick to a food budget of 50 quid a week. Petrol of 40 and pay for the car insurance on the little CC, any further vet bills on the little CC and hang on till pay day.

The Big CC should be paid off when the last of Mum's money comes back. I might have a little money. Being realistic that will probably go on the little CC! Next weekend I will do the car insurance search yawn.

Oh yeah and I might need a new boiler..........................................................................

I have had a rough day. No money saving has happened.

    1. The boiler was leaking on Thursday, so I called British Gas and a nice man came out today. My Boiler was dangerous. And could have killed me. It is switched off and disconnected. Please note, they came out three weeks ago and missed the GIANT hole that was pouring water every where. And previously to that I had no heating for 3 weeks.

    2. For some unknown reason the internet went off. I fixed it. Just before Christmas a fox ate the wire and I was very worried it had happened again. Was thankful it hadn't.

    3. I plugged in an oil filled radiator and tripped the downstairs electric. I fixed that too.

British Gas are coming back on Monday and so is the electrician. The oil filled radiator has made the living room go from 15 to 16 degrees.

I am hungry but in the middle of everything I was decluttering the conservatory. Which is in the kitchen. Also my rabbit - temporarily in the living room due to illness - now fully recovered but still stuck in cage as too cold to move him out side, he is going nuts in the cage and it is heart breaking.  I don't think he has been well the entire time I have had him, he is so lively now.

today I am just giving up. Just for now. XX

Always happens this time of year when you need heating especially with this snow and freeze we are having. Let’s hope after this things start behaving and no more dramas for you.

    Heating is fixed.
    It may not last.
But for now I am not feeling ill with being cold like I was yesterday. A lot happened today and I did spent 15 pounds on takeaway food. I could not face cooking. I can manage this as I still have petrol so won't need to get the full 40 quid.

EEk need to check my sainsbury's order

Sometimes you need a little treat to pick yourself up. Plus celebrate heating being fixed, hoping it lasts.

  • Over a month since I posted! Ooops

Well things are fairly bad on the money front. The boiler gave up the ghost and I haven't had any heating for 2 weeks. New boiler comes on Saturday but I am short of the money. I was meant to have the money back from one of Mum's accounts but it has not arrived yet. My sister is also in money trouble and I have been lending her money each month to survive. If the money comes from Mum's account I will okish but still need a loan for boiler as I can't risk it not coming.

I got a loan I could make over payments on and once the mortgage is sorted my sister will hopefully pay me back and all will be well. But it is pretty much a disaster right now.
