Hello Buffy, so good to see you back xx I had my gallbladder out in November, waited 6 months or so for it but oh my, the difference afterwards was immense - no pain, no having to take paracetamol everywhere I went, it was an instant improvement, hope you aren't waiting too long for yours xx

What I am going to say I don't really agree with but as the saying goes it is what it is. If your lack of gallbladder op is going to cost in not being able to work why not go privately. If you can work through you could even time the op for the beginning of the school holidays & be back fighting fit for the new term or for next week if you wanted. I suppose it depends on how much of your sick you can get on full pay. My sister had her's out for a different reason & it was 4 weeks recovery but she is a lot older than you.

Nice to see you back Buffs. So sorry about your Mum.
I went private for my gallbladder removal as it started really playing up at the start of Covid and it was at least 18months before they’d get to me. It was £6k - saw the surgeon on the Wednesday and was booked in for the following Monday, in at 7am, in surgery by 8am, home and in my own bed by 5pm.
I struggle with some foods now (can eat the occasional egg but not often, can’t do lentils at all, fried food is a complete no and fizzy drinks are hit and miss). Ox bile supplements work wonders for me.
But, the most important thing is no more pain and nausea, it’s a pain like no other when one of those stones get stuck. Far worse than childbirth (for me anyway)

I can't believe so many people have their gall bladder out! Mine hasn't been too bad, I am ok if I stick to low fat, no crisps, no butter or cheese. Turns out I only like potatoes when they are covered in butter!! I really miss cheese. Am ok with chocolate in small amounts.
Am back after a month of……well work was awful, my sister needed more money, I had a dental problem and am in agony.
I am ok….mostly. Well there is a problem with the mortgage. I hadn't changed the deeds of the house over so they won't give the mortgage until the deeds are changed. This means my sisters have to wait for another 6 months. My sister really needs money. In my worst moments I feel like getting the dogs and starting over somewhere else. I might lose the mortgage. I am in more debt now so won't get another mortgage and will have to sell the house.
So things are bad. I have borrowed money - not loads exactly to make sure that I have money to give my sister, pay for the dentist and the solicitor to sort out the house deeds. I am paying her a regular amount but I think - rightly she is expecting the inheritance by now she thinks I should pay her what every she needs and has asked for extra every month this year and most last year. I have made a mistake and I am paying for it. I am unsure if I will keep in touch with her after all this. I cannot put into words the exhaustion I feel having dealt with it all myself and to have made this mistake is just too much.
I have as ever a plan to pay it back as quickly as I can.
Bank loan 2864.26 (9.9% over 36 months)
CC - 6000 (5.9% over 30 months)
Total = 8864.26
I am going to pay the loan 300 pounds a month and the CC 200 a month - this is overpaying the loan, hopefully as often as I can. I am not going to have any spare cash. I do have an emergency fund I intend to build up. I just have to get on with it.
Nevertheless she persisted.1 -
will your sister repay her borrowing when the house sale goes through?
Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st 1lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Progress not perfection.:T100%through my 1% mortgage challenge. 100% through my pb challenge. I’m not perfect but I’m good enough.1 -
I think so.
I have to say am not 100% sure. She does have terrible financial problems. Nearly lost her house and has bailed her son out many times. I legally have to pay her the amount according to the Will so will just wait and see. She may find she can't. Her credit rating restricts the banks and accounts she can use for example.
I can afford to pay the mortgage for the next year. Can rent a room and do other stuff to manage money. I will figure it out.
Nevertheless she persisted.1 -
Surely the money she has now should be deducted from the amount which is stated in the Will? If not it means you are out of pocket.

Yes absolutely! Can you discuss with your solicitor.

Oh Buffy sorry to read things sounding so dire at the moment. I agree with @joedenise your sister has already had a good portion of her share by the sounds of it.
Take care of yourself xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪0 -
as long as you have some kind of evidence even something like texts with requests you should be fine to deduct it. I would put together a spreadsheet of what you have her when. You shouldn't be out of pocket.
