Thanks for all the hugs, we're needing them here ❤️
Quite a weepy day yesterday, told folk at work I was struggling, so received lots of support & hugs. Met a friend in the evening, we walked around town then went to a pub for a drink of pop.
Had agreed with the Head Teachee to take today off. Had a lie in, then went for a walk with DH. I was looking for bulb shoots, buds on bushes etc. Lovely blue sky & a mild day. After dinner I phoned the workplace hub & spoke to someone about counseling. Should hear back within 2 weeks & get 8 phone sessions. Felt wrung out afterwards, but went & flattened lots of cardboard boxes & filled my boot ready to take it to the dump.
Did a bit of knitting, then some seeing after tea.
Grateful for supportive 🐢, friends & colleagues, that I phoned about counseling, a lovely walk & scored 50 on 10to the top, just got the last question wrong!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Not sure how I've done it but I've either lost or gained a day. I was awake during the night so ended up doing a SM order (to be delivered next Tuesday) at 4 am. Had a nap and it was just after six when I woke up so I had all my pills and finished off half a large yoghurt with oats for breakfast. Another little doze then decided I would stay awake until 10 am to phone the pharmacy. Strange message stating they were closed and what their opening hours were. Checked online and all their branches were closed. Why? Then I noticed it was still dark. I had mistaken 6 pm Thursday for 6 am Friday. Technically I've overdosed on my medication but feel fine and will not take my evening pills. It will be at least 12 hours until my next batch but I may take them late afternoon. Possible side effect is that I may have to stay close to the bathroom.
Grateful for sleep - head/ sinuses etc are much clearer but I feel frailer (knees have been creaky for the past 3 days and stopped obeying altogether at times), making do with beans on toast instead of takeaway, reading a good book.6 -
So I looked through my accounts and I think I have 6 NSDs. I'll go with that. Today won't be one as I take DD out to town to spend her christmas vouchers and dinner.
Started watching this lady on YT about vintage and slow intentional living and this is so me. I just deviated from that so much over the last few years for various reasons. So the last couple days I made a conscious effort to get back into it, no scrolling, only a few selected TV or YT programmes, cups of tea in between chores that get done unrushed and properly, candle light and soft floor lights instead of the big ceiling light, crochet and early night. I also thought about my gran's crockery set again (probably nearly 100 years old but no use letting it sit in the attic) and that I'd really like to use it. I will have a look out for a vintage corner display cabinet for the dining room this year. I think old precious things like that should be used, we had a family friend who even let our kids drink out of his Meissen porcelain cups that were antique (he was an antique collector) as he said what's the point of a cup if you don't drink out of it, no matter the age that's its value.
Also I think an attitude change is happening. I started seeing the positive in situations I used to nag or complain about. DH doesn't want me to take his precious new car to work (granted I would have to park in slightly dodgy area) - this is my chance to cycle more or get some fresh air on the walk to the bus. Just to name one example.
Edit: As I had my wallet with me for the bus I was tempted to get snacks although I had enough food with me, bad habit. Instead I thought I pay the local charity shops a visit as I got a few things on my list of things to buy second hand this year (great success with jumpers last year), i.e. a butter dish, an old frame or painting and tea towels. Well, success, I found an oldish botanical drawing of a yellow poppy that reminds me of a painting my Gran's BIL made for her, a Denby milk jug for my slower morning routine, a huge mug that could double as my porridge/soup bowl in work, a flower pot, a little dish with a lid I'll use for butter and a dress sewing pattern I'd actually wear. And all this for not much more than what I would have spent on lunch snacks (well maybe double, £12)01/26: OD £1200, CC £3914, family £3100, loan £5618 - total: £13832, mortgage £58,2437 -

@beanielou - Oh my, that must hurt. I think the hard part will be getting the staples out. Make sure they numb it first (I speak from experience) unless they are a kind that will dissolve.. Sending many hugs.4
