Get well soon thrifty junior.
Good to hear you're up & about @beanielou. Hope your appointment went ok.

A good day at work, did yoga & Du0lingo beforehand.
Sorted out some frog finance things, pleased they're done now & wasn't such a big job after all! Less to overwhelm me now 😊 unpicked a zip before tea, then replaced it & shortened 2 pairs of jeans afterwards.
Grateful for laughter at work, snuggling with a pupil whilst I read to them, getting frogs dealt with & feeling lighter now it's doneUse it up, wear it out

Well done getting out, beanie ❤️Today I am grateful for spotting some crocuses starting to flower, for dh giving Pip and I a lift to an appointment in town, for an excellent Dr appointment after that, for Pip's partner also being awarded PIP, for egg and chips.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Thank you all. I've missed you too turtles.
Life is good. I am so happy that I set my mind to saving and managing to be frugal. But I owe it to you lot making me see the fun in all of it.
I am going to try to buy somewhere slightly out of the centre of Madrid, but still close enough for my commute not to be horrendous, as it can be at the moment (30km but irregular buses). Although I would like to buy a flat in the countryside, I have decided that a city place would be more sensible, as I am an introvert and I could quite happily lock myself away from civilisation...
I probably need another 10-15k to buy somewhere for 180-190k as the taxes and charges are ridiculous here. So a total of EUR 55k.Student loan £5224

It's been a few days since my last post, & all seems to be going well. DS2 went to the cinema with a friend Wrdi night & said it was the best film he's ever seen & it makes him want to be a better man (film is about a table tennis player, for anyone that wants to check it out). I've ordered him a book to go with the film, to keep him feeling this positivity. Bought with a gift card. I visited a friend whilst waiting for him. Haven't met up since before the holidays & now she's retired, I don't see her at work any more. Had a good catch up.
Lots of laughs online with a couple of teachers last night, just what we all needed. Still chortling about it today!
Pleased it's the weekend. Had a nice evening, starting with an exercise routine on YooToob. Did more knitting & watched more if a series, with my pint of snowball (saves me getting up to top it up 🤣), & birthday chocolates.
Grateful for lots of new customers, since sharing a post introducing myself on FB Wed night, laughter, singing along to music, & ticking 2 phonecalls off my listUse it up, wear it out

I have been awol and lost count of NSDs (nothing new there!) but keeping the faith.Grated various ends of cheese and made cheese scones this morning. Scraped the processor out and got enough to coat the dog's flea pill. He is very small so this pill has to be cut into 4 pieces and coated with cheese to make him eat it. What a palaver
I must freeze some of the scones. Also made sweet potato soup with some veg that I had forgotten about. A mug of soup with a cheese scone made a very nice lunch
Sold an item on FB marketplace so a nice bit of decluttering there, plus extra £25
Walked to W*itrose, our nearest supermarket, this afternoon. Couldn't be bothered to get the car out and battle through the Saturday traffic in town. I only wanted some yogurt for my breakfasts, and a small pack of mini / new potatoes for tonight's dinner. Also got posh juice as a freebie using my loyalty card. We took the dog and OH minded him outside the store while I went in. That was his afternoon walk sorted. We were lucky to miss the rain.I have a pheasant to cook for dinner tonight. OH was given 4 the other day. We gifted one to a friend, froze 2 and will have one tonight. I will make OH soup with any leftovers as it is his favourite. I prefer vegetable soups.Grateful for FB sales, cheese scones, not getting caught in the rain and for free posh juice from the supermarket

Had a job prising myself out of bed today, due to hearing the horrible weather outside, & waking up often in the night.
Picked mum up, dropped off 3 bags of sewing & collected another 8!!! Guess who's going to be a busy girl?! Did the food shop, pinned a woman into a dress, then headed home.
Wrapped up & went for a 3 mile walk, saw the lady who I donate all my things to for her charity shop, & asked her to keep an eye out for my missing skirt. Hopefully it'll turn up at my house yet & I can make my memory bear. Did some filing of paperwork. Knitted after tea & watched a film with DH. Decluttered the last of a box of chocolates, so one less in my sweetie bag.
Grateful for time with mum, also with DH & advertising something on V1NTED & it selling within half an hour!Use it up, wear it out

Didn’t realise I hadn’t updated since last week. I’m sure I did but maybe my post got lost. I was on nsd#12 and I think I have had 3 nsds since so I’m on nsd#15 I think. January had been extremely long. I can deal with the lack of funds etc as I squirrelled mum wages away in December until 1st January but the dark days and bad weather is getting to me. Feels a bit like Groundhog Day. Weather affects me so much. The forecast for the next week isn’t looking much better either. Lots of rain. At least we are nearly at the end of January though. Onwards and upwards.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #828

Thank you, DS op went well. Back to work for me today, sorry I haven't updated recently. I think I got another 2 NSDs = 10. Prepped some meals for lunches at work, pea and ham soup and a mackerel and potato salad. Made a huge chinese curry for dinner last night with loads of left overs. Thrifty_T, I still giggle when you tell us you have pinned someone into clothes. I imagine them stuck there with their arms out to the sides until you see fit to free them!I too have been AWOL - I woke up with a lurgy 10 days ago and am just starting to feel better. It really knocked me out and only things that needed doing got done.beanie - how is your head?Today I am grateful for feeling better, for a green garden to look out onto when I'm sat at the table, for cheese and onion crisps, for good news from my sister, for a friend bring me some fisherman's friends last week, for Pip making progress with some things he wants/needs to do, for not living in the US (sorry, weeNancy), for the eye hospital treating me and my ongoing post-cataract-op shenanigans and for said eye place being only a 40 min bus journey away rather than having to trek into central Lunnon.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8
