I'm another one who has done Paris via coach and via Eurostar, admittedly many years ago, but both were ok. I am going to Paris via Eurostar in the summer so I will be reading about your trip with great interest.

Eurostar I think is the chosen method of transport 🤔 DP has booked it all so I may report back with something else when we've been 😆. I'm just hoping they let me in as he's booked it in my maiden name and my passport is in my married name 🤔🙈.
DP and I have been to the gym. DD was still in bed. I think she's exhausted from working and college work 💓 poor thing so I left her to sleep. I'll wake her up soon though or she'll never sleep tonight and she will be tired for school tomorrow.
I did the treadmill again, aim was 3k. I got to it 😁 - I looked back on my app I use at the gym to compare my workout this time last month to see if there was any noticeable improvement -
Workout 1 • 24:08
• 1.51 miles
• 109 kcal
• 3.8 mph avg
• 0 ft elevation
• 193 moves
Workout 2 • 28:28
• 1.87 miles (3k I swapped to km when it felt like I was achieving more 🤣😁).
• 162 kcal
• 3.9 mph avg
• 10 ft elevation
• 307 moves
What changed-
✅ +4 min 20 sec longer → better endurance
✅ +0.36 miles → ~24% more distance
✅ +53 kcal → more total work
✅ Speed slightly higher (3.8 → 3.9 mph) while going longer
✅ Added incline → harder effort
✅ Way more steps/moves → higher activity outputThat's not bad considering I don't go as often as I should. My end goal is to get to 5k and mostly jogging. At the moment I'm only doing small bursts of jogging. Much of the workout is a fast paced walk. Heart rate didn't go above 147 which is good as I start to feel very dizzy when it does. I'm quite happy with my progress so far, just need to keep it up. Let it get easier to do before I add in extra distance I think and be jogging for longer before I do this too.

That’s really good on the fitness stats shift 😊 And you are right to pace the increase not just leap at it.
Re going out in the garden when it’s cold - have you considered a thermal layer on your legs? I wear that in winter and it makes a huge difference to me and how well and how long I can work out there.KK

Hi @ladybird1106 lovely to 'see' you..we've asked and been told to try and change the name...then we were told it shouldn't matter too much if I just bring documents supporting name change so we have left it as is.

@KajiKita it is my hands that go so cold they hurt and I can't work with gloves as I'm clumsy so I usually just wait until it's warm enough to work without them. The rest of me usually warms up quickly enough when working but hands are always harder to warm 🥶

Monday afternoon already! Hey all, hope everyone is having a good one. I'm on lunch and spending my whole day with one student. He's lovely and sweet and so my day is going well. He has autism and processing issues and struggled last week when I left him too early so I've promised to spend all day with him today and half of tomorrow (can't do all day am needed with another another student). He's more competent than me today as it's all computer work 🙈 so I'm here mostly for moral support and coaching him on a few social skills but he's easy really so hopefully today and half of tomorrow will go easily and quickly. It makes such a difference to work with students who want to learn, who are polite and give as much as they take.
I've checked my work calendar for Wednesday and can see I've had a meeting scheduled in out of class so that means I don't need to spend all day in with new colleague..(yay).. I'm on countdown to a week off now anyway 😁, including today only four proper work days and one training day. The training day is on the same courses as her so I'm just going to sit with other people I know if possible...as I really don't want to be around her energy, especially seeing as though she is taking everything I say,.twisting it and then putting in complaints about me.
It was going to be a NSD today but then I realised I was about five roads away from where my friend works so I've pinged her a message and said I'm nearby, so we're going to meet after work for a quick catch up in a pub nearby (the cafe was a bit too far a walk for friend to get to from her work and pub is on the way home so 😉 pub it is lol). I've put her off for two weeks now as I've been so tired every weekend so this fits in well and she knows I'm not ignoring her for any other reason than I'm knackered.
I'll get DP to put some JP in the air fryer for dinner so it's ready when I get home.

I'm utterly exhausted this evening. I finished work early so that was good, and met my friend round the corner in the pub. Nice and quiet on a Monday evening, lemonade for me as I was driving and beer for my friend...£7 😳 am I tight or is that expensive?! She bought the second round and then I was feeling utterly done in by that point and said I was going to have to go. Was feeling headachy and nauseous. I was hungry I think as when I got in DP and DD were tucking in to a big salad with some JP 🥰😁 so dinner was on the table for me. Gosh. Never thought in a million years I'd be the one coming in to dinner on the table rather than being the one making it all. Felt a bit weird actually and I thought, all those years I moaned and actually I loved being at home cooking cleaning and looking after my family 🙈. Perspective huh. I never saw it from the other side when I used to moan about it (mind you when I was at home doing it I often had 6 kids I was looking after - 3 of my own and 3 childminded)...as I got rid of child minded kids I loved it and found it easy 💓. Miss them days. And work as lovely as the students are, is so very tiring. I need to be up and at a train station for 6:55 tomorrow morning 😴 so this evening after dinner, I caught up with DP quickly and then made myself breakfast and some snacks. Packed my bag ready for the train trip, and another bag for college when I'm back. I'm supporting a student learning to independently travel tomorrow. She's already been signed off to do so but was nervous so I'm accompanying her, I said I'd stay with her the other end for a few hours rather than coming straight back too so I get to have a day trip out for the morning. I've got everything ready so I can get up at 6 and just get ready and go.
I've had things put in my calendar I'm not so happy about for my afternoon- 40 min walk across town with another student and back again 🫤😫 I've got out my comfy big wide leg trousers so I can wear trainers hid under them in the hope I can get away with them and not hurt my feet tomorrow. I've got a heel pad ready to wear and will layer up in case of hot flushes which are back with a vengeance ☹️. Ugh. Not happy and the next day I have another walk in the opposite direction similar distance. Hoping my foot will hold up. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I'm already in bed, showered and ready to read for a bit. Starting on book five of the year (I've abandoned half read book). My bag is packed for tomorrow, breakfast ready to grab and eat on train. Paperwork ready for morning, and phone on charge. So hopefully I'll sleep alright and be refreshed for tomorrow as I didn't sleep well last night so feel very tired now. Anyway today was a LSD only the £7 on the round at the pub. So that's one good thing to come from today, and the early finish 😃 hope to report back tomorrow in one piece!

Afternoon all, I'm taking an hour out of work. I've spent all morning since 6:50 at work 😴 am tired already now. I was supposed to go straight to another job and I've said no, I won't be back. I technically would have been back in the city but I'd have been a 20 mins walk away from work then I needed to leave almost immediately to walk about 40+ mins to somewhere else with no lunch. Nah. I'm not paid enough for this stress. I messaged and said no someone else will have to do this. I got off the train and went straight for some lunch, out of work. So I can be alone for an hour. I'm starting to see why my predecessor(s!) left for other jobs. It's so full on with working lunches that just seem to happen without my say so and obviously high need students. It is full on. You're giving your energy over from the moment you start till you finish 😴😴😴 am in desperate need of my break next week. I'm almost regretting having booked a holiday as I feel too tired to travel for it.
I'm going to work out my hours before I go back in so I can tell them when I'm leaving as I've already worked extra (I logged the half hour I left early yesterday as travel time so still counted as work time).
Nothing major to report really, aside from my usual moan of tiredness and work loads ☹️. Probs should save it up and just have one big moan a week.

Not long until your holiday, DFW321! Keep your eyes on that prize and work time will hopefully whizz by, I know what you mean about feeling too tired to travel, but I’m sure you’ll feel differently once work is out of the way.
Nice to have tea on the table for you too! I would love that even for just one day, although I don’t technically leave the house for work these days so have no excuse!
Lots of love x
