Well done setting your own standards. As you say you aren't paid enough, you're not the pm or a top surgeon so stop for lunch, log your hours and (unless you want to build up hours for extra pay or to take full days off) do your weekly hours and no more.
Proud of you 😀

Morning,
I forgot about several subscriptions. I've now got two things being sent out that I don't need and one I didn't particularly want. Equalling £50+. I did manage to cancel three but two were impossible to do. I will use them so I'll keep It and chalk it up to me being utterly disorganised because I'm so tired.
Another super tearful evening, another very early night. Hot flushes are back. Bad night sleep. Life is fabbytastic.
Newbie is in today so let's see how this goes, I've got a book and some earphones for lunch and I will go sit in a noisy canteen rather than stay in the same room. Three work days left ....

I cried in work before 8am had even come round. That is a record for me. My MH has really taken a dive since that woman started ☹️☹️. After a quick sob I went back in. I feel so uncomfortable it's becoming a drain on my already depleted battery. We sat in a meeting, catch up one. Pretty straightforward. She complained afterwards about the fact she didn't understand anything. Honestly there was nothing in the meeting she needed to concern herself with anyway because she hasn't yet started the proper part of her (our) job but also it wasn't hard to understand. I had started the job properly so had stuff to contribute and she was rolling her eyes. - no I'm not kidding. It wasn't rocket science what we were discussing but she made it feel that way afterwards the way she moaned 🤣🙄.
Anyway, I was given a task to do and so was she ...she said she didn't understand it. And said it was too hard and top overwhelming and too much info she actually threw herself back in her chair exasperated. She asked to see the Manager. 🙈 One I think she complained about me (for a giggle it seems as this is now ongoing) and two I think she moaned about having to do work at work. 🙈🤣. How very dare they.
I took a student out that was having an interview about that time and thought thank goodness I get to escape. I hadn't been looking forward to the interview as the student is pretty avoidant at answering any questions at all. In the practice I did with him he even refused to tell me his name (obviously I knew it). So this morning I was majorly panicking thinking !!!!!! do I do when this happens 🤣 however I favoured doing this over sitting in with her.
The interview went fantastically well. We got him chatting about all sorts and he was offered a job 🙌🏻 (well placement first then a job if he does well) so first part of my job was done 😀. He was super happy with himself and I felt really proud of him like he was my own child 🥰.
I went to the canteen at lunch. I forgot it's GCSE resit week 🙈 I've had over a hundred students I've supported over the two school years I've been there. I'd say about 25 of them decided to be in the canteen at the same time as me today. I read four pages of my book before one disturbed me and wanted to moan about their exam (don't blame them though who likes them) and then another and another and so on and so forth for an hour 🤣 I was their agony aunt for an hour picking them back up after they felt they'd failed. Poor things. The afternoon was alright I stayed out of the usual shared workspace and sat in class with laptop and work. However she decided to sit with me because the usual workspace was needed for another reason. 🙄 I seriously wouldn't mind if she just started talking to me and stopped being so weird and moaning about work being work-like so much. I asked her if she was going to the meeting, she said no? What meeting? She hadn't been invited so I went off on my own with the tutor (thinking good). She went home.
Three people around campus have stopped me and asked if I'm okay today. At first I thought, omg who told them I was crying, but then they went on to say I looked so tired. Thanks. 🤔🫤 I do look tired though to be honest. More tired than I've looked in a long time. It was nice seeing old colleagues wanting to speak to me and catch up and students I used to work with, it made it feel it's not me. It's her. She's made me feel like I'm an awful person which is why my mental health is suffering so much. ☹️
Anyway tomorrow I've booked two visits out. One of them is an hour away so I will have two peaceful hours in work time to just sit in the car and drive and chill there and back. Friday is training day and then I'm on holiday.... nearly there now.
I will make a herbal tea and sit and relax and read my book this evening. DP is in Birmingham tonight for a meal out with his new team. DD has disappeared upstairs but bless her, she cooked me dinner (pizza and chips) and sat and listened to my moaning about work 🥰.
I walked 10k steps today but foot is holding up okay this evening. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Right my moaning and updating shall end here. Hope everyone is ok. I'm struggling to catch up on diaries as eyes are so sore by the end of the work day and I don't want to look at screens any more. 💓

Have you talked with your workplace about how this is making you "feel" ??? You are clearly great at doing the job but the way you feel - this isn't good - even if you just ask for somewhere else to work? Maybe if you have some solutions ready but really this can't go on. No one should feel like this at work.
Sending love, and, ignore if not helpful.

Watty's right - your management need to sort this and ensure that you have somewhere you can go to get work done and not be disturbed by someone moaning. Shut down all her questions/comments/moans with 'You need to speak to your manager about it, I'm afraid I don't have the answers for you.' Maybe explain that it is impacting on your ability to perform at your best, as you're being interrupted/disrupted and can't focus - as well as being made to feel as if you're doing something wrong. Her manager needs to manage her.

In agreement with Greenbee and Watty … She is not your problem, she is her manager’s problem … Am kinda hoping she disappears during your week off … 🤞
However, I just wanted to acknowledge how wel, you did yesterday and today with that student and his placement interview. You have a real talent for working with these younglings. It would be lovely to grow and nurture that talent … 😊
