@Watty1 the wine or the books? 🤣
I'm home. Woop.
Long old day as things ran over. I did do some online courses that had elapsed though so used my time in between lectures to work smart. New colleague was being delightful around me (edited to add I'm not being sarcastic either 🤣). As there was a huge audience..I kept it professional as I'm done with wanting to be her friend. Took it as a win though that I didn't feel sick from stress all day. Tutor and my manager spoke to me and I feel they are going to pull her up on her lack of work and strange behaviour that others are now noticing too - mainly wandering off randomly during tasks and switching lights off and saying the most bizarre things that have nothing to do with anything we're doing. 🙌🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
Tonight is a takeaway night, G&T night and a lazy morning tomorrow. 🙌🏻💓 I made it. And who'd have thought it, for once it wasn't the students I was desperate to escape for a week it was the colleague situation 🤣🤭💓🙌🏻.

I was wondering today if putting headphones on or ear bud things in would help? Whether you actually have music playing quietly or just them in it might distance yourself from whats going on around you?

(To show empathy with your situation- ignore if you want 😆 Mr d and I were talking about awkward colleagues today. He reminded me he had a post where someone who had gone for the job as promotion into the vacant post was already acting up doing the job so when mr d got it (and was coming from a different department so would need a bit of training too) it obviously didn't go down well. He was awful to mr d but one day in the stairwell mr d told him he understood, he was perfectly happy not to be best friends however he expected the behaviour whilst in work time to be professional. Mr d found that really hard as he HATES confrontation but It cleared the air and they actally became friends and we used to go out for lunch with him and his wife for a long time after they both left that team. Obviously its not the same as you, Mr d was his line manager so had authority which made it a bit easier.
Similar happened with me, chap had been acting up for over a year but I got the job. He wasn't best pleased and didn't talk to me but we weren't in the same team so it was less obvious but did eventually get his promotion and we ended up in the same cteam so worked together for quite a few years by which time he was over it.
In your case there's not any particular reason, like these chaps had, but sometimes folk just are odd.)

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Morning all 🙂
The sun is shining here, and there are blue skies, and I can hear birds singing happily and it feels like spring isn't too far away now (we'll forget how freezing cold it is outside).
I've had an up and down weekend. DP and I decided to drop DD off on Saturday for work and go out somewhere, anywhere really just for a walk and wander. Well. We firstly got stuck in a traffic jam for an hour 🙃🫠 then the town we'd driven to had a football match on, police everywhere, people everywhere, we had to drive to the very top of the car park (13 storeys ) to find a space (and that was only there because someone happened to leave as we were about to come back down). My goodness. Over peopled and over stimulated we ate, retreated back to our town and house and watched TV chilling on the sofa for the rest of the weekend 🤣. I feel better now and I've made myself go back to sleep every morning I've woken up at 6am or earlier. I'm better rested now than I have been in months. I'm determined to rest and enjoy my holiday on slow mode.
We have our break away in a few days, we're actually going Wednesday to Fri for some reason I thought it was Tuesday to Friday. But I'm glad it's only a few days it means I get to chill here and do bits before we go and we also get the weekend when back to do things.
I managed to order a food shop to be delivered yesterday on Saturday - I think there was a cancellation or something as it was the only one for days so I'm grateful for that or that would have meant more battling crowds yesterday.
I've ordered a few things online, new trainers (mine are so well worn already as I wear them every day that I've just replaced like for like and got my online discount of 20%). I've also ordered a couple of things like plugs for abroad, I can't find mine as it's been so long since I went away it will be packed in a box somewhere in the loft. Also a couple of books and pack of cards. I'm going out soon to try and find some jeans and a backpack. We've decided to try and travel super light as we're only going away for two nights. So this will be a challenge for me 🤣. My jeans don't fit and whilst I have every intention of losing weight it's not happening quickly enough so my jeans do not fit well, they're uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. So I'm going to attempt to find a comfy pair today or failing that some sort of trousers I can wear for a few days. Then all I need is clean underwear, tops and socks. I can do this 💪🏻. I'm actually looking forward to the challenge of feeling like a backpacker for a few days rather than my usual suitcase full of things I never even use.
DD and I are off to the cinema later, she treated herself to a monthly pass and I said I'd buy a ticket and go with her today. I got a discount on blue light for mine. So only a fiver for me. DD booked it though and I can't remember what we're seeing 🫣🤣. Before that though I'd like to sort the house out, prep dinner, put a wash on and go buy the jeans I'm after. So I suppose I ought to get on with it.
I've left the £50 in my bank from TCB. And DP applied for his too. His was deducted £5 for membership fee 🙄. So £95 between us not too bad. Still waiting on the bigger fee from FD themselves which I think we have to wait a few months for. I'm hoping for a frugal trip away now it's all been booked and paid for. Because if we can do it frugally it means we can do this more often. Okay. Off to start my day.

@daisy_1571 I've had awkward colleagues myself before now and the last one was actually in the job before we moved here. I probably mentioned him on here but I might not have. Anyway I had only been in the job four weeks and I was asked to step up to supervise instead and the guy who'd been there for 4 years had been waiting to be asked. He got the shock of his life when he saw me stood at the front directing everyone what to do 🙈 I didn't realise and it was only when I questioned why he was being weird someone said to me he wants your job 🙈. He was ignorant to me for quite a while and then he did pack it in eventually and we were okay after that. He wasn't rude or ignorant in the same way as this new colleague though which I find quite sly and sneaky. She chats to me like we're besties if anyone is watching and when they aren't she blanks me, switches lights off, goes to complain about me to all and sundry...she's odd.
DD is suffering with bullying at work too. I got her to write a complaint to her boss this time (remember the time she was sobbing in work when I was there with DP and his parents) well this woman has been doing it for months now so I've written DD a letter and she sent it across. Manager was very quick on it and said he would move her away from this woman. He's also arranging a meeting with HR to discuss this 🤔 unsure why? I seriously hope they aren't going to ambush DD into retracting what she has said because this woman has done this to a few of the younger people there. She also has had bad reviews left on the internet specifically about her. So I'm hoping the meeting is because they want to give her a formal warning. DP is also going through some rubbish at work. The person who took over his job is incompetent. They got it because of restructuring and don't know how to actually do the job ...so they've written an email dictating to DP that he doesn't this that and the other before they takes over. He's fuming 🙈 ...I'll update on how that one goes.

Well jeans shopping was a fail. I had toast for breakfast.... Then everything was too tight as well as my usual problem of too long. I found some trousers on sale in &SDA though so bought them…will try on at home as I'd had enough of changing rooms by that point, think I tried on a dozen pairs at least across two shops and gave up by then as was getting too hot stripping and re-dressing 😂.
DD and I are off to the gym, then we'll have lunch and go to the cinema ☺️.
