:joy::joy: Thanks @daisy_1571 that did it :joy: And thank you @in_need_of_direction @dawnybabes & @KajiKita. @redofromstart I just did a comparison as finally got the laptop on, and the prices are wildly different from one insurer to another?! £674 was the lowest (great price if it is still there when she passes!) then next price is £1544 😖 and the one after that, £2678?! What the heckus is going on there, when I do my comparisons there is usually a tenner or so difference but not thousands of pounds! Eek, I hope and pray that cheaper one is there when she passes but it says it expires today. As otherwise I genuinely don't think she does have enough money to pay for it. I think she has just over a grand saved. Yikes!
Although to be fair, when I passed back in the 90s my first insurance cost me £100 a month which equated to £1200 a year (I was in London though and my father bought me a 2L car for my first one even though I had asked for a Ford Fiesta  that prob had something to do with it :joy:) a lot of my wages went on paying that insurance for a few years until I swapped to a small car  hence why DS1 and DD have had the smallest cars I could find haha.
Anyway back to DD, I will see if I can find some cashback, and I will speak to DP as I have had to put myself on her insurance and put business use on it too, so I am wondering if that has pushed it up? However, for my new job I need a car and I have been told I need insurance with business use on. I will do the same with our car too, upgrade to business use, but I am wondering if I can get away with not using DD car for the same and if that will reduce costs. The thing is we don't know what DP new job will look like yet, nor mine really, whether he will need to travel to his offices, and I can tell you now he will not use DD car for that, and I am not sure how often I will be out and about either.  Hence I thought it best to put business use on both. 🤔 Hmm thoughts? Anyone know anything about this and whether it may have affected price greatly? If it has I will probably have to contribute.

Right that aside, so glad I looked  another thing to take up mental space  I am debating the gym today, to keep in the rhythm of going, and then making sure the house is tidy enough to leave it until Saturday next week (I am going to enjoy my last two mid week breaks off so trying to do as much housework now as possible) and I will also make a very loose meal plan, my g0ust0 box arrived yesterday and I have most evening meals planned really through that, so I will make sure we have bread, milk, juice and oil (forgot that twice now) as well as fresh fruit and breakfast stuff. Hopefully a cheaper shop than usual because I need no dinners. I am grateful I have to work two weeks of the old job because I want to see if a student is in tomorrow, she's been MIA for three weeks and I am concerned about her, so before I leave I want to make sure she's okay and say goodbye. Must also not forget to tell new bosses about days off I need (and pray for me they're okay about it.) It should be fine as there is another new starter who has the PT position I went for and she is an outside applicant, so she will need to do all the college's basic new starter training and inductions which can take days.

Okay, anyway off to wake DD as she has to be at work in an hour. I hope to be back with a NSD (not counting grocery spends in my NSDs) and house clean enough to not fall down in a week. And possibly a gym visit!

Adding me reduced the boys, adding business class added about £20 per year to mine as it was done at renewal. That lowest quote was about what the boys was so should be around.

Thats amazing differences.  Just shows how worthwhile it is slogging through the comparisons.

I might be tempted to do a comparison for just you noting the price then do comparison for you both noting the price.  Then sit with her getting her to complete a comparison for just herself as she needs to learn how worthwhileit is going through the various sites and standalones.

If you and her will continue to genuinely share the car I think you should pay towards your part of the insurance but definitely not hers, I had assumed it would be solely her car.  Also remember its the driver whose name the insurance is in thats building up the no claims.  I think direct line give other named drivers no claims years but most insurers only give and take the no claims as the first insured driver's.  (Direct line aren't on comparison sites so do them separately.)

Might also be worthwhile setting up a system for how the petrol will work after shes passed - notebook in the car for each of your mileage maybe?   I speak from experience 😆 everyone assumes everyone else is running up the mileage and why should they put petrol in.  We helped twins pass their tests and they shared a car with their dad and each other.  Happy days you might think but no.  None of them wanted to put petrol in the car that the others would use so they would each put maximum of a fiver in when the gauge was right down into the red and all blamed each other for using the petrol, not helped by the fact the gauge didn't work correctly so we got several phone calls from one or other tearful twin who was stranded with no petrol somewhere and we had to mercy dash with a can of petrol  (no we never got that money back either 🤔  😆 😆 🤣 ) and entreaties of please don't tell my mum  🤔   (no we never understood that either but we never told  😆 )

@daisy_1571 that's hilarious 🤣🤣 and I could actually see DD arguing with me every time over petrol money, so I should foresee this 🤣. I'm hoping to use my car tbh, it's nicer to drive 🙈 however with DP and I both starting new jobs we don't know how often I will be out and about, and we don't know how often DP will be out either 🤣. Lots of I don't knows. So if we both need our car on the same day I've agreed to use DD one instead of ours as generally speaking I won't be going very far. However, DP drive to the HQ is about a three hour drive just there and we aren't sure if he will need to be field based for a bit of the job especially in the first few months. So it makes sense he takes the better car for motorway driving and also because he says he'll look an idiot if he parks a girls car in the car park full of nice exec cars. 🤣🤣 I think personally it was the second thing that swung it for him. He has said he will take the train whenever possible so it might turn out I never need use DD car 🤔 but I don't know yet so I thought it best to prep DD into sharing as a just in case. She's not the best at sharing after having two brothers who used to just take whatever they wanted from her 🙈.

Okay DD drove herself to work today, did a good job, no near heart failure from mum today, as she heeded my advice. I drove straight to the gym 👏🏻 go me. I did 1.5miles on the treadmill and am up to a pace that would probably be considered fast enough to do a very slow jog, but I am a fast walker when not in pain so it was a bit of speed walking for me today instead. I've downloaded the gym app and logged in to keep track of this. I note though, that the other day when I did a walk on incline it burned more calories. So might resort back to slower walking and incline, but I am unable to go as fast. And the faster walking got my heart rate up 🤔 hmm. I also steam roomed and sauna'd and had a chat with a few people in there that I've started noticing each time. Dare I say it, I am beginning to feel like a regular 😱 wonder how long this will last 🤣.

I have broken my fast, I had a salad sandwich and one chopped up sausage in it. Pack of crisps and an orange tango. Not the best lunch but I was starving and craving it. Lots of salad in the sandwich though, at least one portion so that's good.

Oh and I've just had a thought I bought car insurance already for DP, myself and DD has a separate learner insurance 🤔 so it may well be I just change my insurance now and add DD and change it to business use (just in case) or see if DD insurance alone isn't too much so she can have her own no claims (I think it will be). I'm not even sure if you can have several insurances on one car actually, I better look into that. Her learner insurance was super cheap in comparison and I think we just let them know she's passed when she does ...not sure if I will get any money back though.

Okay I'm going to pop to the shop now and grab some fresh bits and oil, I've already put a wash on and the house is relatively clean and tidy. That flash mop inspires me to mop daily almost which is a great improvement on, ugh omg do I have to find the mop, stuff to put in the bucket, wait for water to heat up, and then clean it all (mop head and bucket )after mopping. So much more convenient. ☺️
Edited - been shopping! £40 odd quid later.... Did get oil that cost ten quid of that and some new mop pads (on offer so got two boxes) so that was almost half the costs 🙈 I should send DP he never ever deviates from a list in front of him.

That’s so good, that you and DP are more aligned on your goals now 😊

I think you should at least invite DS1 and girlfriend as well to your wedding as well! I suspect he might be upset if you don’t …

Can we be excited for your wedding, even if you aren’t? 🤔❤️🤩🥳🎊 🔔
