Thanks @daisy_1571
yes I am thinking it will spur me into going in on the days when I really have had enough. I like the team where I am working so that's why i took the job, it feels a comfortable enough, supportive enough place to stay for a while. It's not perfect but it is better than the last two jobs for being enough.
I think once the mortgage is sub £100k it will feel like DP and I will have options, both of us, not just me. He loves his job right now so at least one of us will be happy
he's also working very hard behind the scenes to start up a side business which he hopes will become his full time earnings and earn enough to hire me and pay me. But I won't talk about that until it actually becomes more than a pipe dream. So for now, I look at work as a 60 month loan, I loan them my time for 60 months, they pay me and we're even
I didn't quite understand how banking switches work
I have just been on ai chat asking for help. I don't want to close my current account and to get my cashback i have to close my account and transfer two DDs over 😫 ugh I didn't realise. (I'm so out of touch with this lol) so I have just opened another account (m0n30 took ten minutes), also set up 2 DDs to charities (took five mins each, £1 to both) that will work through CASS (didn't know what that was till 40 minutes ago) and when DDs are all set up in new account and showing on my app I will start that CASS process. Then once that has worked, on pay day I will transfer the money it requires (£1000) in and out to tick all the boxes. I also need to use the debit card 5 times. So I will do that too. I think it will be worth the hour's effort this morning doing all that for £225
It's more money than I usually earn in an hour, let's put it that way
Right that's most admin done aside from my contract I can't work out how to sign something on a pdf, I will use DP computer instead or print it and scan it back in. I am so rubbish with tech. It's nearly lunchtime and I haven't even got dressed yet

Don't knock £10 - its more than I earn in a month for surveys

I have a hunch that your job will naturally evolve into wfh at least 2 days a week. Let's see how it pans out ....
I can't do a countdown like yours as mine is still too long at it would be too depressing a number! 🤣

I lost 1lb this week! I don't think I put It in here but on the diet thread instead so 1/7lb of my first goal.
Found a F1tbit to buy and used TCB and went through c^rrys which says 10.5% cashback. Not sure if that will track right though it was confusing if I've bought the right wearable that was on the cashback offer. I paid for it with TCB vouchers though which tracked straight away so I had £8.50 cashback there which I've already sent for.
Dinner was rubbish tonight it was a g0ust0 one and the mushrooms were pure mould. The buns fell apart and I got really annoyed with it all 🤣 I put a complaint in and should have £10 in my account in refunds which can go towards the next box.
I've talked DP through the process of banking transfers and cashback and it took less than an hour to do so we're just waiting on a few things to be set up before we'll start the bank transfer process to be eligible for the payout.
Right time to chill I feel stressed from dinner now. 🤣🙈Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Love the idea of the 60 month countdown. I bet that makes full time work feel more manageable when you know it won’t be forever. Good luck with your new job!4

Thanks @sunshineli I think it will be the only way I will get through chaining myself to a full time role 🤣🥲!sunshineli said:Love the idea of the 60 month countdown. I bet that makes full time work feel more manageable when you know it won’t be forever. Good luck with your new job!

Morning all, DP has already left the house so I'm taking DD car into work. I was going to walk until my knee decided to keep me awake all night in pain 🙈🥲 after weeks of no real pain. Sigh. I'll take some ibuprofen as it's swollen a little and try to get on with the day as best as possible but this is my moving and walking about from 9-4 day with no real rest.
I've found a knee support, slightly tight thanks to me putting on weight, so I've put that on and will take off if my leg goes numb from tightness 🤣.
I've made lunch and have hot drinks ready to bring with me (tea bags). DD is going out for a driving lesson with my cousin later who used to be a driving instructor so we are hoping the news is good after her lesson and that she's test ready. Her test is in less than two weeks 😬 might be a bit late if she doesn't know stuff now. I'll report back on that one.
I've woken up with a headache from my medication again 😑 I'm feeling really quite fed up with this and the fact the Dr fobbed me off with keeping me on the medication I'm on without even looking to tweak it or change it has made anger rise in me again. 😑 Pushing it down.... and will just take a break from any more doses this week.
Right I best be off as it is busy out there today.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Just a thought. Re the headaches, it might be worth asking for a medications review with a pharmacist - either attached to the GP's surgery or independently. Pharmacists specialise in medications after all, and might understand interactions better or know of alternatives.
Sympathies about the knee. I hope your day isn't too intense and DD's driving session goes well ... 🤞

No gym this evening I am exhausted. Not even a week in and my energy is going back to where it was pre-christmas 🙄😒.
DD driving lesson was cancelled with cousin as she ended up in the hospital (cousin not DD) she's recovering from a stroke and heart surgery so I did wonder if it would go ahead. Rearranged for Monday.
I've done my 6000 steps so far. NSD also but I might break that as we need shampoo and a few other bits that I might just get on big river site if I can be bothered.
Not much else to report - oh knee was okay after wearing the support for the morning, I took it off when it started feeling too restrictive and tight.
Ah and one other thing, I hid some ferr0r r0ch3r from DD over Christmas as I thought she'd make a piggy of herself and guess who ate them instead? Mice. That's who. Came in through the hole in the ground that's not yet been filled in where DP was doing plumbing and through the floorboards up into the cupboard. Little nibbles all over the chocs. Little beggars. We cleaned it all out and haven't found evidence anywhere else. Thankfully no other food in there just baking pans. DD said this was instant karma for hiding them 🤣😒. I had a quick search and it said clove oil, peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil would deter them so we've covered cotton balls with these oils and distributed to all cupboards we think they may try to get in. The only cupboard with an actual hole was that one though as we had to cut cupboards to fit around awkward shaped wall. So the back section is missing in one area. I'll keep an eye on it and I'd rather not set traps. We had no problem before so fingers crossed we don't get them back.....!
