dfw321 - I realise it may have been more obvious to have to put "the cart before the horse" when we got married, as we got married in a registry office in a county different to the one in which we reside, but I didn't realise (until I came to do it - thankfully with enough time to fit it all in), that you have to book your 'ceremony' before you can go to the Registrar to do all the 'paperwork' to actually undertake the ceremony - if that makes sense. And as I think has previously been discussed, there now has to be at least 28 days inbetween registering and getting married.
I fully realise if you're using a RO and Registrar service in the same place, it may not be such a fandango, but I was (initially) a bit discombobulated by having to 'set the date' and pay for the service etc, and then get an appt with the registrar. It felt 'back to front'. We did 'elope' in effect, as we had no one specifically that we wanted to be with us, and it was an added advantage that the area we got married in provided a 'witness hire' service. Had we got married at our 'local' registry office, the advice was literally to 'nab someone off the street' as we entered the building 🙄

Afternoon/ evening (?) all, when it's dark my brain automatically assumes evening but I guess 5:20 is afternoon 🤣. I didn't sleep well last night. I watched the last episode of a series I was watching (broadchurch) and then the last few chapters of my book and that was it my brain was wired all night for some reason. I thought reading my book before bed would be a good wind down but perhaps the book was too exciting 🤣🙈. So I struggled to get up and going this morning. My student wasn't in as I thought, the office were very unhelpful when I enquired, "is she okay?" And didn't seem to care about her welfare ☹️ meanwhile I'd spent all Christmas worried about her. I think having come from a background similar to her I realised more than many what she'd be going through for having reported abuse within the home. The aloofness of the staff in the office was shocking ☹️.
Anyway I had an okay day down in another class and we were cooking all day. So diet ruined 🙈 I did fast until 12, and as some garlic bread came out the oven at five past twelve I didn't say no when offered it. Also didn't say no to some Victoria sponge 🙈 eek. Soz summer bod.
I got home and rallied DD to come with me to the gym (aren't I good!) and she went swimming whilst I had my first jog in about a year 🤣. I didn't know how to pick my feet up off the floor to do it. It was most bizarre they seemed to be glued to the treadmill and it took some persuasion to get them to jog. We did it though. Legs and feet obeyed. I jogged, walked, jogged, walked until I'd done my 1.5miles and managed to do it in 24 minutes which was good time for me. Sauna'd and cold showered and back home to shower and wash hair. In fluffy nightgown bought courtesy of work and will remain in it until bed 🥰. DP is being wonderful and cooking dinner (in his own way, he's struggling a bit and keeps moaning but I don't care I will leave him to it my legs are sore 🤣).
So - first book read of the year 👏🏻
DP has booked us our registry office for half term week in May 😁🎊.
And I've told work I am at an appointment on Monday and DD has driving test on Wednesday.
Had my first jog of the year.
NSD too.
So lots of big things ticked off, and some small bits woo.
Right off to taste DP efforts and I'll be back to respond to visitors ☺️💖.

Dinner was good! 😁💖
@Greying_Pilgrim can you imagine if you rocked up for your wedding and no one was loitering outside 🤣 what would you do!
So we have some guests now, DP parents and DD. I will ask DS1 but he's usually busy. And DS2 has changed phones and I'm not allowed his number so won't be asking him. We can have up to ten guests.
@skint_spice thank you, I'm exhausted from not sleeping well. Glad I don't start the new job for a couple of weeks yet as I was yawning all day 🙈💖.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

I would love to do this @bargainhunter30 but ex has taken his SIM and given him a new one..neither myself, ds1 nor DD have his new number. He's blocked everyone on SM and ex controls all contact now and I'm not going through him ☹️ ...if things change I will of course invite him. A space will always be saved for him.Bargainhunter30 said:Can you compose a message for DS2 and send it to DD for her to forward on? Was going to say, it sounds like a safeguarding issue. Can you report your concerns to school/social services, especially with alcohol now an issue? Maybe DP could report anonymously so that a woman isn't mentioned and they may not question your involvement.Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years

That was kind of a concern of mine too dfw321 - you'd either have no-one passing at the time (it wasn't a city centre office or anything), or you'd have the the precise couple of people passing, that you didn't want at such a special occasion! 🤣 Too much risk that the 'law of the lawn' (s0d's law), would come into play! 🤣
Sorry to hear about the issues with DS2, that's very concerning and a great worry.
